Ok, dumb question. I just got a smartphone last Christmas so this is all new to me, as I've never cruised with one, so bear with me. Yes, the slide phone worked for me all these years. :rolleyes:Normally, we turn our phones off and are off the grid while on vacation. Who wants to read or see bad news from family/friends/home and be in the middle of the ocean and can't do anything about it? Not me. If the phone is on for the app isn't there a chance someone will call you? I've heard horror stories of people who get home and have an crazy phone bills. How do you avoid an incoming call?

Was in costa msya years ago and rented a golf cart. Do they still do this? If so, do you know how much?

Do they still rent golf carts in Costa Maya?

I'm going to add to the confusion. I've heard that Carnival knows when you're on and when and what you're looking at. If you do a "mock booking" doesn't Carnival see it's YOU again? I'll even do it without using my number. If so, why would they have anything lower, as it would be your gain, their loss? My thoughts are if they are watching me then the prices will never be lower. I've only gotten a few dollars here and a few dollars there, nothing ever major. I also check at least twice a day and find that the prices are all over the place. Same goes for options. Some days oceanview with obstruction is available, some days they aren't. Some days one floor is sold out, and the next day they aren't sold out. It just seems to be helter skelter with both prices and what's available. Anyone else think this?

We did this in 2007 and it was a blast! We drove them to Mahajual and spent the day there, to the beach. I'm anxious to see if you can still do this as we'll be there in January. When we were there, there wasn't much there, in all of Costa Maya but it remains one of my favorite ports because of this. Can't wait to see what others post as I"m curious about the golf carts as well.

Years ago we were in Costa Maya and we rented a golf cart for the day. Does anyone know if they still do this and if so, the cost.
Thank you!

Yes, as they have all said, keep checking. We did it once, and I agree, I think it was overrated and a waste of money. But everyone's situation is different and you may love it.

How do these work and where do you get them? I'm clueless but have heard alot about them.

Checked again yesterday and another $10 lower for a total of $30 down! $30 is great and I'll keep checking. Good luck everyone!

After I posted this question I continued to do my twice a day price check and what do you know! A price decrease. It was for $20.00 but $20.00 is a savings and I'm a happy camper!

Any thoughts on where the prices will go with all of the weather issues, cancellations and changes in ports? We booked last week and just curious what others think what might happen. Everyone likes to give their option here at home and they go both ways. Just wondering what other cruisers think. I'm still checking twice a day to a drop, but who knows!

Looking at a January cruise to get away from the cold, snowy Indiana weather! Belize is now on the A list. Looking at Glory out of Ft. Lauderdale or Magic out of Canaveral. We've not done either ship and never done Canaveral. Please help a girl decide!

We have never left from Port Canaveral before. Needing transportation suggestions to and from the airport and port.

I would like any and all information on porting in St. Thomas and getting to St. John. I want to know it all. We port at 10 and leave at 6. Can this be done without concern of getting back to the ship? What's the best way to do this? If by ferry can we buy tickets before we get there? Once there what is the best means of transportation to get around the island? Any thing you can throw my way I'd appreciate it.

Ok friends I want to know any and every thing you all know about porting into st. Thomas at 10 and getting to St. John and back by 6. Can I be some? What ferry do you recommend? Is fare something that can be prepaid? I want to know it all. Thanks!

We cruised the first week of March on the Independence and it was HORRIBLE! Never again. We were told by some girls that there was a Facebook page just for this 5 day with over 600 members from the university of Florida alone.
-
Update. Rumor on board was that it was a stroke victim. This was from fellow passenngers as the crew was tught lipped. Spent nearly 6 hours in Miami. Sorry, I didn't check the coolers as I didn't turn phone on until I was off the ship. We missed Haiti due to the winds or at least that's what they told us. Have also heard it was really a time issue due to turning around. It was spring break for the university of Florida and also according to some girls on the ship there were nearly 600 of them. They were your typical spring break crowd. Rude, drunk, self entitled spoiled brats for the most part. My thought i was on vacation and thats better than being at work. Had a great time either way.

We are currently on the independence and it was announced last night due to an emergency we would be returning to Miami. I just woke up, at 4:00 a.m. and we are docked in somewhere, I'll assume Miami. Anyone know what's going on our where our stops will be?

The countdown is on my friends!!!!!

We'll be there over the weekend. We have a 6:00 flight out of Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday the 11th. I also found a Groupon for the Water Shuttle. I"m going to assume Water Taxi is different from Water Shuttle. I'm just not sure how to get from airport to a pick up for either the Water Shuttle or Water Taxi. Does anyone know the difference better/worse between the Water Shuttle and Water Taxi? Thanks all!

I'm a bit overwhelmed so I want to make sure my ducks are in a row. We can store our luggage either at the airport for $7 or RCC for $25. If we select the airport I'm assuming we can just hail a taxi to the airport to do so. Once at the airport we can catch the sun trolly and head out. If we would choose to us RCC we can just head out from the port. I don't see where the trolly comes to the port so I'm not sure what to do next. Sorry, just having a plan and knowing what we need to do will make for less :Dchaos!

Any suggestions on something to do while waiting on our 6:00 flight in Ft. Lauderdale? Looking for something cheaper than the $$$ RCC excursions.

Looking at this tour. Any one ever done it?

Are you able to buy a 1 day use or even by the minute internet package to print your boarding passes? I want to be unconnected the entire week, but want to be able to be prepared to go home as well.
