I was always too full from lunch to eat canapés and knowing that if we had pre dinner drinks in the lounge, then a lovely selection of hors-d’oeuvres would be served, followed by a scrumptious dinner. Pass on canapés but we were in a suite that offered them, we just didn’t need them.

We had 966 underneath Chartreuse and we definitely heard noise every night. It happened around 10:30pm and lasted for about 15-20 minutes. Sounded like chairs being dragged across the floor. We only heard it when we had an early night and didn’t go to a show. Once we knew how long it would last, it didn’t bother us that much.

Hi, we stayed at Hilton Tokyo for 4 nights, our first night we paid ourselves and had executive level, the next 3 were just the Regent standard room booking, which we had to change locations for. It was the Tokyo marathon during our stay and the hotel was booked out, so we didn’t have a chance to try the upgrade.

Yes I do this so I have a back up that’s confirmed. Then if the waitlist comes through, it takes its place. I’ve been lucky with waitlisted excursions so far.

Olympics are 17 days up to 12 hours or more per day. If not on MSNBC, CNBC, Sky News, or Sport 24 we are not going to see them. License would be a lot more than four hour Oscars or Super Bowl.
I was thinking more of the opening ceremony only. I realise that catching up on favorite sports, will be on the cabin tvs.

Hi, this will be my first cruise on Navigator and I’m wondering if Compass Rose adds any of the dishes, that are offered on the other ships specialty restaurants, such as Pacific Rim?
We are looking forward to experiencing this “little ship” and we understand its differences and hope we still enjoy all that it offers.

Has anyone been onboard during the Olympics? Does Regent do anything special, like a night for the opening ceremony, or is it just personal viewing in your cabin? We board Navigator on July 26th.

Went on our first Caribbean cruise last November and St Barts was sadly cancelled due to rough weather. It looked pretty calm to us though 😂
Id recommend booking St Lucia as your back up.

Hi, we will be cruising on the Navigator on July 26th and have booked on short notice, so we are staying at the Mövenpick Hotel at the cruise terminal. Does anyone know how easy it is to walk from the hotel to the terminal entry, or will we need a taxi? Just trying to plan, when we have luggage to walk with.

It’s my favorite restaurant onboard. I had no complaints on Explorer in March. I dined there about 3 or 4 times. Love the food, ambience and staff

We had a similar situation in Tokyo. We decided to stay the night onboard and then debark very early, as we had a 8:20 flight. We kept our luggage with us and left the ship at 5:30am. Another couple also left at the same time but then had to be allowed to get into the luggage area in the ships terminal, to search for their bags.

This was one of our main highlights to our Alaska cruise. We stayed in Seward 2 nights before boarding our cruise and did this tour with Major Marines, located at the 360° Harbor View Hotel. Great excursions and the time of 7 hours was fantastic. Would highly recommend it.

We recently had this suite on a Tokyo cruise, in March. Yes there was a chair scrapping noise at approximately 10.30pm each night. It lasted for about 10 minutes. It was slightly annoying but once you knew about it, you realized it wouldn’t continue for long.
I totally agree that there is inadequate seating, when you are using the two bedrooms with 4 adults, it only seats 3 and one person has to sit at the desk or dining table.
I didn’t have an issue with the bathroom though. The only thing that drove me nuts, was the door continually closing on the WIR/bathroom.
Vibration didn’t bother us at least I can’t remember it being an issue 🤷🏼♀️

We did Tokyo to Tokyo early this March. Cold temperatures, rain etc but it didn’t appear to be rough sailing (which I enjoy 😂). Anything can happen next year. Just take precautions and be prepared.

We were in the Mandarin Oriental for our November cruise, however it was being demolished early this year, to make way for a new apartment complex. Other passengers were located at the Intercontinental.

Does that mean that if two people book the Master Suite they only pay for the two of them, but get two bedrooms? Not a bad idea if you think you might fall out with your spouse/partner during the cruise!!!
I have the Master Suite booked for a Tokyo to Tokyo cruise next year. The second bedroom was being locked off when it was just my husband and myself, I have since added our best friends to the second room, paid more to unlock the second bedroom though.

Hi, we are booked for the Vibrant Tokyo tour in March 24. Are you able to take the 3 nights accommodation and not do the arranged tours, so we can organise our own tours/guides instead? Then be able to use the bus to get to the port?

We did not utilize a Regent car; we asked the Concierge to arrange for a taxi. That is what he did. Very reasonable cost.

Customs clearance is(was) face-to-face. First passengers called were those with scheduled same-morning tours. Then--Deck by Deck, starting with Deck 6 and moving upwards. Last Deck(s) called got that call around 1100H, as I recall.
Orderly procedure. You will have already been provided with a Japanese Customs Card to complete prior to meeting with Local Officials. Then, with Passport and Customs Clearance Form in hand--line up to complete the process in the Theater.
Clearance includes being fingerprinted. No ink; don't worry. Everything automated. Facial photo recognition taken. Regent will then put a small stamp on your Passport to confirm clearing the process.
Time from lineup to process completion for us was about 35 minutes.
GOARMY!
Go Army, your response is really appreciated. Thank you

Great responses, thank you. Regent had quoted a car to take us to the airport but the price was ridiculously expensive. Over $600 AUD 😳
Can someone please give me a little more information about clearing customs, the day before debarkation, what’s involved? Thank you.

If you booked your air through Regent they will get you to the airport. We had a cruise end in Venice a few years ago with a 7:00am flight. We were in the first group off the ship.
As I’m from Australia, we don’t get Regent air. We are flying on our own. -
We are booked for the Tokyo to Tokyo cruise, next March and have an early flight home at 8:50am out of Haneda airport. What’s the earliest we can get off the ship, or should we leave the night before and stay at the airport hotel? The ship docks in Tokyo the day before? Any advice from past passengers, that have experienced an early departure? Also are taxis available at the port, at the time we will need to leave? Thank you.

Hi, I have downloaded the Regent app to use on tours and connect to my own headphones/ear buds, to make hearing the guide easier, when in large groups. But does this app get used by the guides or is it something that people don’t bother with?

I was disappointed when CD Handre brought this idea from Regent to Seabourn when he joined. I have tried it a few times but maybe because we are from Australia I find the chatter mainly about places in the USA people where people live and visit, forced conversation. So we avoid it and will do so on Regent. Luckily we dine late so are occupied getting ready in our suite when it occurs.
I’m also from Australia and find the Block Parties fun. It’s always lovely to chat with new people, no matter where they’re from in the world. The parties don’t go for long and “small chat” is very appropriate, when talking to someone new.
