They're waiting on parts. From what I've read, the technicians are already on board the ship and ready to do the repairs. As soon as the parts come in they'll most likely ship them to Galveston and do the repairs while underway on the next cruise.

I did mine at CVS in Deer Park (Center St location) and Pearland (518 @ Pearland Pkwy)

I cruised in October 2021 with a passport that expired in January of 2022. No problems.
