  1. Other than being a little narrower, this doesn't appear to be THAT much different than other mid-ship balconies we've had. I remember having to turn sideways to stretch my legs out on the Dawn too. Suppose we'll just have to wait and see. ;)

Update: On checking the NCL EU website, the skinny (no pun intended) on at least the mid-ship balconies:

-On the Dawn, the BA cabins are 203 sq ft, 37 sq ft of which is the balcony

-On the Breakaway, the BA cabins are 204 sq ft, 32 sq ft of which is the balcony.

Guess it's a tis for tat...

  3. I just booked two day passes ($49 per person) at Coco Reef Resort in Bermuda and am wondering if anyone else has done this and if so, was it worth it. It sounds like a good deal to me-includes full day use of facilities, pool, beach, towels, chaise lounges, umbrellas, lunch included, and a glass of wine. The only other day pass I found was $400 for a pool cabana at Elbow Beach Club.

How did you book them already? Are you cruising in June too. thanks

  4. Great directions for those looking to make the walk from St. Georges; most folks don't realize how easy it is to get around on those old lanes. On our Trip 7 in June, we somehow managed to leave all our cash on the ship, so we decided to take the walk instead of being lazy; a lovely trip, and well worth it - but it is a great suggestion to stay in the shade!

  5. I never thought about this..I always thought maybe I'm just weird...I also have "cruising clothes." I wear jeans alot at home or my work uniform..I started buying nicer clothes when we started cruising..nice tops and capris that match..with shoes that match..haha..each year I added another outfit..a couple of skirts and more shoes that match..haha..but, I started even at home to wear some of my crusing clothes in the summer:p I also am more relaxed on a cruise...you don't have a time schedule to follow...I enjoy that...

  6. when you are waiting on someone and somehow you hear they've been on a cruise and you zero in....sometimes it's not even my table...haha....and you tell them all about your cruises...the ships...Bermuda...you just go on and on....everyone starts looking at you...and I end with..have you ever been on Cruise Critic...it's great and I walk away...because after all I am working:eek:
  7. Wow, travelloverontario, your itinerary is very ambitious!! Sounds fantastic, and yes, we will be on the same cruise.

I will have a 3 year old in tow, so we are slightly less ambitious. Probably want to make a point of going to the Aquarium, heard Jobson's Cove is a great beach for tots, and we may skip St George entirely.

I hear there's a Marks & Spencer in Hamilton...brings back lots of memories from when I lived in London, might just have to make that a priority, too!

I'm really struggling with finding a good balance between seeing as much of the island as we can while working within the limits of our son who still loves to nap for 3 hours in the afternoon and my husband who'd be content to sit on the balcony ALL day every day! Maybe they can sit and nap while Mummy goes shopping in Hamilton? :)

as you can see dh and I have been to Bermuda before....we have no children with us, but went to the zoo and aquarium...1 price for both and really enjoyed it..as far as your child and husband napping and relaxing and you going shopping. Outstanding idea..my dh has a museum day and I ferry it to Hamilton for an afternoon of shopping...love my time on the ferry and in Hamilton. Also 1 day when they are napping..we are at the dockyard so walk off the ship and right in the dockyard there's the clocktower mall and assorted crafty kinds of shops. Love my walking around time at the dockyard.:Dhave fun....

  8. Your profile does not say where you are from. However, if you are from the US with your attitude on tipping, I would certainly not want to be your wait person at a restaurant. Also, you would not want to have me wait on you a 2nd time.

    DON

I am a server and have been for 30 years and unfortunately that attitude is still around...even in this day and age where most people know that some jobs are not covered by minumum wage...and don't care..they always think that the owner should make up the difference..but, that would put most(all) restaurants out of business and then they'd complain there are no restaurants or servers:(

  9. :( I am soooo sad....I love Jose and Patti...Was really looking forward to seeing them again on my June 6th cruise on the Dawn..I wonder why we didn't know ahead of time. Everything I read said that they would be on there. Or maybe I was just taking for granted they'd be there at the same time they were there last year. I'm so sad:( If anyone hears who's replacing them can you come back and tell us? Thanks
