I actually got the last form (the release) via email just two days ago.  One more form to have  notarized and sent, but at least I am home now and can send from here.   Wondering if it is because I cashed (deposited) the refund check that flagged it?

That’s interesting because our paperwork indicates we won’t get payment unless they have the release form signed.

Argonaut will review the completed Argonaut Proof of Claim and all documentation, as part of its continuing evaluation of your claim. If approved, Argonaut will send you a Release and Assignment for review. Argo will remit payment to customers that have provided a completed W-9 and a signed Release and Assignment.

I was indeed very...very shocked to finally get our full refund.  Has been way too many hoops to jump through and paper work to fill out.   Cost 120 U.S.  to get that last form I had to send notarized while visiting Southampton...but well worth it in the end.  🙂

Hope it works out for you as well.

Do you recall how long after you sent the proof of claim I for and W-9 that you received the “Release and Assignment” that’s supposed to be the last hoop we have to jump through? I assume that release also came through email?

We received the forms and the W9 to fill out while we were away on a World Cruise.  The ship did not have the required notary service, so I contacted a notary in Southampton England, setting up an appointment to have it done when we docked for the day a few weeks ago.  It was a loooong walk to get to her, and expensive to have it done there...but I thought it worth it if it does the job.  Had the concierge on our ship then scan/copy me on it, of which I returned email to Argo.

Our claim was for a paid in full B2B 14 night in a suite that was cancelled...to the tune of 19 grand.

When we finally got home yesterday to pick up our mail, the check was in our held mail!!!!  Shocking full refund, which I never expected.  Check was dated 8/12...so I guess they cut the check when they got my email of the forms.

Just deposited it in the bank this morning....with fingers crossed it does not bounce!!  😮

This is excellent news! Thank you so much for reporting that back. We have an appt today at 11 to get our docs notarized and will be emailing them later today. Fingers crossed we have the same response you did!

  4. We finally got the email with the W9 and proof of claim forms. Has anyone actually had any luck reaching a helpful human to assist with questions? If so, what phone number did you use?  It seems quite ridiculous that they don’t know exactly what we paid them and we have to deal with all this hassle to prove what they surely know we paid. Not having dealt with legalese like this before I don’t want to answer something incorrectly.

Indeed.  They wanted our B2B paid in full right away when I booked.  Was balking at that and should have listened to my red flag.  Hassle with them cancelling one of our legs and wanted to charge us to rebook.  Umm...no!!   3 weeks hassle to get them to wave that.  Thought we were set.

Two weeks later...they file bankruptcy.   🤬

Now we have to go through all these hoops and forms to get our money back, which is despicable.  They know we paid, we and they have proof...just send us our refund!!!!

We haven’t gotten anything from them in a few weeks and when I called a couple of weeks ago all she did was read me the official response very similar to what’s written on all the court documents we’ve gotten so many copies of. We were able to get a confirmation number so at least we know they have our claims. Has anyone seen a phone number for the appointed representative? I called the number of the last document, was transferred twice and then left a message on an unnamed voicemail box. No response to date.  Any additional information anyone has would be appreciated.

I finally got &12,600 out of my $12,932 claim from my travel insurance. They covered the cost of the trip but not the cost of our premium excursion ($332). Still hoping to get that back from AQV but we’ll see. I called Omni to let them know that all but excursion was covered by my insurance. They were a little confused but I think they understand now. Meantime I’ve called Argo Surety ( have NEVER gotten a response from them) to let them know the changes in my claim.

Who was your insurance through, if you don’t mind saying? We had Allianz and they won’t do a thing without at least a denial from AQV/Omni/Argo Surety or whoever they are.

  7. We just boarded the Majestic and were blue line. I printed our travel summary and had photos of our boarding passes but was never asked for either. The only thing I was asked for was our room number to get into the blue lane line and our passports once we got to the front. Easy peasy.

  8. I did this on our current booking and it worked fine. I knew exactly which cabin I wanted to switch to, it was in the same category and there was no price difference. The call center rep was able to easily make the change for me and I got the confirmation immediately. The call rep did have an accent and there was a little background noise but he seemed very eager to help. What I did NOT like was the brief survey I took at the end of the call. I was happy with the interaction and gave the rep 5’s but the last question was really odd. It was something like “ If you were a business owner, would you hire the person who helped you okay?” Or something to that effect. What the heck kind of question is that?

I too have received the documents that have been mentioned, I am fulling out the first set of claims in the email I received from   Argo Surety.

I have started claims with my credit card company and the insurance company which I purchased travel insurance from.

I have no idea what to do about the ballot, I don't want to hire a lawyer and I don't want to accept it. What if we simply don't return it and they don't have enough votes to continue?

I also must say for a company such as American Queen who have been in business for a long time they are not treating their former customers well. No response from them on emails or telephone. calls.

I hope you have better luck with your travel insurance than we have so far. They won’t do anything without a formal denial from AQV and their insurance first and we can’t even get that. We bought insurance through Allianz and they closed our claims but did say they could be reopened when the documents were received.

We were on the Countess cruise on the 8th and never got one either.  When you get to the hotel you'll likely get the timeline at the checkin and there will also be an American Queen desk or two where you will do your checkin.  They'll assign you to a transfer bus based on the time you checked in,  take your picture and issue your room card.  Don't forget your vaccination cards as you will need to show those as well as your id.

With all of these itinerary changes I think the office staff is just overwhelmed.

We got an email that said they are no longer requiring guests to be vaccinated or show proof of vaccination, but we'll take our cards regardless.

  11. Thank you for all the replies. We still haven’t gotten our Embarkation timeline (didn’t get it for the original booking either) and when I called to ask about it, I was told we wouldn’t be getting one. Our guest tickets show the old info as well and they won’t be reissued. So I guess we just show up at the Gaylord Opryland and wing it!  I kinda like to know what to expect, so some information would be nice.

  12. We’re booked on the Nov 15-22 American Countess and since the itinerary has completely changed none of the ships’ add-on excursions are really appealing to us.  Our travel agent has given us some onboard credit that we need to use up somehow.  We don’t drink, so using it on alcohol is out! Does anyone know if we’re allowed to use it for gratuities? On our Viking river cruise it wasn’t allowed but I’m hopping AQV might be different.

  13. On Enchanted in December they were unable to provide the set up, so we were given a credit for it.  I think there had been supply chain issues and they had a limited number of setups to provide.

The parade was back at the early seating in Cielo on Saturday night.

In the buffet’s drink stations they have lemonade dispensers but must request iced tea which is the opposite of my previous experiences on other Princess ships.

Is the iced tea the same syrup blend they use on other ships or is it true brewed iced tea?

  15. We did this tour this last August and it was definitely very memorable.  The American cemetery is beautiful, probably the most beautiful cemetary I've ever seen.  I wish the tour had been offered at the beginning of our cruise rather than the very last day before disembarkation though, but that would have required the cruise have France as the first port instead of the last and I don't know if Princess ever does that.  It was a long day and to get back and have to rush to get packed to get luggage out and eat dinner to get to bed for a very early morning made the last evening feel very rushed.  The bus ride there and back is definitely long but we felt it was worth the trip.  We did made a note to ourselves to try to pick shorter excursions the last night of the cruise in the future though.

  16. I posted this on the Private Islands board over a month ago and no one has responded, so I thought I'd try here.

I'd like some feedback on this excursion from folks who've done it.  We generally just walk around on Princess Cays and maybe shop a bit but last year we took my mom (77) on a stingray encounter in Antigua and she still talks about it.  It was packed with cruise line passengers and the snorkeling was awful but just being in the water in the middle of the ocean with the stingrays totally made her day.  Can anyone who's done the "Princess Cays Stingray Beach Encounter" comment on how it was?

  17. We were on the Crown Princess in August 2019 for a British Isles cruise and I thought the food was some of the best ever.  There were a lot more offerings that were tailored to the area we were cruising (Irish Stew, Shepards Pie, etc) and they were excellent. I ate the Irish stew several times.  Maybe the food was tailored to the demographic of the passengers on your cruise?  Or the area of world you were cruising?  We've been on many Princess cruises and while I may not have always loved everything I've tasted, I've always found many things I enjoy and we tend to eat mainly in the buffet.

  18. We did something similar recently except our flight was out of LHR.  I was also concerned because our flight left at 12:35 and it was a weekday (Thursday) putting us in the middle of rush hour traffic.  We were assigned one of the earliest groups getting off the Crown Princess (I believe our group got off at 6:30) and we also had Princess transfers.  We did not do self disembarkation.  We were off the ship very quickly, gathered our luggage and went to the waiting buses.  Ours filled up quickly and we left around 7:15 and were at LHR by 9:00.  I'd worried we might miss our plane with all the reports of how bad traffic could be, but we were fortunate and had plenty of time to spare.  We were extra fortunate in that our plane was only about half full and our party of 3 each got a row to ourselves.  One of the best flights ever!   : )
