  1. Just found this wonderful review. Your photos and amazing as always Gambee. Congratulations on your marriage. So happy for you!!! Happy that you so enjoyed Alaska. I live in Vancouver so it is a wonderful and easy cruise for us. No air!!! I have been many times and think HAL is the best for the same reasons you gave, size of ship and wonderful promenade deck. Also the friendly crew. Alaska has a way of drawing you back. This won’t be your last I am sure.LOL loving your photos.

  2. Thank you so much for the feedback. This promotion has worked well for my daughter and child for spring break in the Caribbean for several seasons. I was hoping it would start in August as the cabins that we are interested in on the Regal princess March 24,2019 in the category she wants are going fast. I don’t want to tie up the larger deposit for that long under current offers and she has an ill dog which may make it not possible to go. If I did book under existing promos to secure the cabin I want could I switch to 3 for free? Have to check if the deposit is refundable as well. So much more complicated than the good old days when booking. Again thanks for all the help.

  3. Hi Anita,

Following your plans with great interest! As a Vancouverite I think your choices for your day in Vancouver are good but a cautionary note regarding the walking tour. The Gastown part is good, but unfortunately the Chinatown part has become kind of a sketchy part of Vancouver just bordering on the downtown east side where you DO NOT want to be. Heck that out carefully as it can be unpleasant especially as you are walking. You will love Granville Island, the food choices, the bakeries OMG and the fabulous display of fresh produce and handcrafted wood carvings handmade jewelry is really interesting. The little ferries are fun to ride and almost mimic a toy bath tub boat in appearance but are very safe. Wish you had more time as Vancouver is very beautiful.oh and there is a fabulous walk around the perimeter of Stanley Park with great. Iews of the ocean and mountains. I so hope you enjoy your visit. I will pray to the rain Gods to stay away.

  4. Just got off Caribbean princess yesterday. We lost power for about 1 hr. after leaving Grand Cayman. Captain a few minutes earlier came on to reassure passengers that although the ship was listing on the port side ( I did not notice this, but was in a starboard cabin) he said all was well then several minutes later the lights went out and we had no power for about 1 hr. very unsettling feeling .we also had to turn around previously to meet up with a helicopter off Cuba for a medical emergency. All our balcony furniture was moved inside and we had to stay on deck 7. We were in a cabin on deck 10. Not the greatest cruise. :(

  5. 0n my last Princess cruise I remember waiters with beverage carts around the pool area in the afternoons. At that time ( I think 2014) they had small bottles of wine for about 5-6 dollars. Do they still do this. Nice not having to leave your lounger for a drink.!

  6. I recently booked and paid in full for a 10 night partial Panama Canal cruise. I am able to print luggage tags and boarding passes from my cruise personalized but not etickets for the air. I called Princess and asked how do I check in with airlines with no documentation. The flight summary has no ticket numbers or locator code. Was given very vague answers. Can anyone help explain the process. Seems totally unfinished to me. Thanks for any help!

  7. Hi fellow cruisers

I have recently booked and paid for a 10 night partial Panama cruise. I purchased princess air. In my cruise personalized I have been able to print boarding pass and luggage tags. There is however no provision for printing etickets nor on the air summary are there ticket numbers or a locator code. How does one proceed at the airport with no back up documentation. Cruise is 5 wks away and have tried calling Princess with resulting vague answers. Can anyone give me more information.? Thanks in advance.

  8. just noticed an upsell offer for a 10 night sailing to Panama Canal. Offer was $299.00pp for balcony from interior never had one before so not sure if this is a good price. Email does not give details as to location etc. Tried to call but had to leave message G noticed email 2 hrs after it was sent) but recording stated it may take up to 24 hrs. To reply. Also need advice if we accept can we request our bank does conversion of funds?

    Thanks for any help.:D

  9. I can only relate my experience. I thought I was buying a guarantee at a good price simply because they were just trying to fill the odd empty cabin which I had always thought was what a guarantee was. in my case as stated earlier it turned there were many cabins available in my "Guarantee category B3 veranda. It was an amazing price and included all the usual perks so I jumped on it. What I did not realize is that I could have possibly gotten one of the extended balconies, however they were probably all gone in late Dec. for a June sailing.the agent certainly never offered and I assumed I had no choice in cabin selection.I am quite happy with my cabin location,it is midship deck 7,just wish the Cdn. Dollar didn't sting so much. I still can't believe the price I paid and have checked many ther sites and no one is even close.

  10. I am not sure Lyn this was with a big online agency and was one of the cruise critic "best deals of the week! Type email. I didn't ask as it was advertised as a guarantee,B3 balcony so I assumed given my understanding of guarantees it was some type of infilling. Not the case apparently. I was just shocked to see a cabin assignment within days!

  11. I recently booked a guarantee veranda cabin on the Marina for the June 2 sailing out of Southhampton. I was surprised to be assigned a cabin within days. This was at the end of December. if my research is correct the lower cabins are listed as waitlisted but there is still lots of inventory brim B1 upward.final payment is March 4. Could I still possibly receive an upgrade or upswell offer.? I usually pick my cabin but this was too good to pass up. Happy with the midship cabin location just curious whether it is Now "cast in stone" ie.cabin number or other options may be offered Thanks for any insight. My understanding was always that guarantees were last minute fill ins. Not the case here so puzzled. Thanks again.

  12. Arriving in early June for cruise from Southampton.staying for 3 nights in Southhampton and hoping to do a day trip to Isle of Wight. Would it be better to try to get a tour from Southhampton or do independent ferry and then a tour or public bus.? Some mobility issues so would like to keep it as simple as possible but also not break the bank! Thanks for any advice

  13. Hi, we will be on the June 2 cruise Southhampton to Copenhagen cruise and wondering about port shuttles provided by Oceania in some of the ports. Can't seem to find info and TA very slow in responding. Won't be using her againbut that is another story as yet unwritten !. I would appreciate any information.

  14. Thank you for checking. I think I mentioned finding an email site for the Munich airport and they contacted me and assured me there is a shortcut route that passengers are taken on to their gate if there arrival is at all delayed. Said they routinely do 40 minute layovers with no problems so will think positively! Thanks again.
