  1. Hi my name is Rhonda and I have been on and off WW for quite a few years. This summer has been a disaster and I really want to get back on track and lose 30-40 lbs. I am in my early sixties so the old metabolism is not my best friend. My biggest and real challenge right now is that exercise for me is almost impossible. I am waiting for hip replacement surgery and at the moment almost any amount of exercise results in a lot of pain. This has recently really gotten me down as the quality of my life is really impacted and I have been using food to comfort myself again. My weight was stable although up for the past year but this summer I am sure I have put on 5-7 lbs. So hard to just declare today is THE day. I am doing WW on line at the moment but do find the accountability of weighing in person more inspiring. Hope I can get motivated to stick with this. I really need some support. Thanks.

  2. Hi Jim, Can't wait to hear your impressions of the Pacific Princess. We will be boarding next Tuesday. So excited to read your comments and hopefully see some interior pictures!!. Have been on her sister ship, the Azamara Journey but am a Princess loyalist. Live here in Vancouver and you have certainly lucked on the weather for sailaway. I will be watching from a beach near Lions Gate Bridge this afternoon. Could you confirm your sailaway time is 3:00 p.m local time. Thanks,Rhonda

  3. Have cruised many times to Alaska. I would not rule out May as far as weather is concerned. Have had gorgeous temps. in May. Also the days are the longest in June. On a l4 night on Sapphire Princess mid June we sun bathed and got sun burned. Still light out at 11:30 at night. Magical out on the deck with small fishing boats near us, heading home. September is really getting late and can be very cold and wet. Layers are the answer because the weather can change in a heartbeat but the scenery is breathtaking. Glacier Bay and College Fiord are all magnificent. You will find the attire on Alaska cruises much more casual, people seem more into focusing on the area. Can't advise on interior trips, I have always just done the cruise and planning another for 2015. Don't miss Vancouver, it is a beautiful city. Hope you have a wonderful time.

  4. Sorry, but \I find you comments superior ,rude and just totally inappropriate. There are beautiful places everywhere in the world and to trash the carrribean is so snobbish and actually absurd. obviously Europe has more to offer in terms of culture and history but that is not the point. You knew where you were going for god's sake.!!!! What did you expect, Could you not enjoy sun, sea and service on the ship as well as some stunning beaches. Some people are never happy and it is truly not relative to wealth. Cheers R.

  5. Not sure how to pose this. In reading Oceania reviews and different threads there has been a fairly consistent mention of ports being changed, moved or cancelled for announced weather reasons, when to the passengers eye all seemed very calm. I understand and have experienced genuine circumstances when it was impossible to dock due to the weather but am wondering what the experience of regulars of Oceania have to comment. Could understand this with the smaller ships but Riviera and Marina are a good size. Thanks for any insight.

  6. Hi Dan,

What you have accomplished is amazing. I had no idea this was possible. But if you cancel a card don't you lose the points? Do you have any idea if these would work in Canada. I would love to learn more. I feel very frustrated with how little I get in rewards from the Canadian bank credit card I have. I always pay off the balance every month but am very uneducated in what to look for. The cancelling and reapplying still boggles my mind. How does your mileage account stay intact if you have cancelled the card?!!!! Thanks for more insight. I really am so not aware of all of this.

  7. Not in this situation yet but booked cruise early. No price drops as yet. What happens if price drops after final payment. Are you just out of luck? or do they offer an OBC for the difference. I would be afraid to cancel and rebook in case my original cabin got snagged before rebooking procedure completed (provided reduction was large enough to cover lost deposit and then some) What is the best thing to do. Thanks.
