  1. I snorkeled there on January 5th. It's chilly but definitely do-able. You don't have to stay in the water a long time...you can easily snorkel around the feeding pier in 15 minutes or less. If you wear a rash guard, you'll be a bit warmer.

I admit I am ignorant of many things!:D

I've seen you mention a 'rash guard' here and on your blog,

can you explain what that is?

BTW, LOVE your blog! We will be on the Emerald February 25th for (I think) your last voyage of the winter. Hope to see you there!

  2. Yup, you're right. I just checked and they've moved us from B734 to R734. Completely unacceptable! I've done all this research to find these specific cabins for a reason. Time to call Princess. This sucks.

I agree that this is not acceptable! Now you are in a cabin that will accomodate 4 which means bunks in the way :-(

I find it interesting that Princess has not updated the deck plans on the website. The cabins that people are being moved from still exist on the site. Not good, Princess!

  3. They should make those aft open areas at end of decks 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 as smoking areas -- smoke would not likely drift to cabins on sides, and instead would be blown away from ship. Those open decks are somewhat of a secret area!!

No! Please don't take away my favorite places! Nice and quiet and smoke free!

  4. I just returned from 10 days on the Emerald Princess in cabin E-404 whose "obstructed view" was great. And the cabins on either side would be a good choice also. These windows are between lifeboats so the view is fantastic.

Forgot to take a picture of the view but except for a low railing on a catwalk, the window was un-obstructed and will ask for that same cabin when I sail again.

We are sailing in this cabin in Sept next year - NY to Quebec City.

Was the bed under the window? Hoping not!

How did you like the location of the cabin? Any noise issues? We've never been on this deck.

    Thanks!

  5. I don't understand why people would buy an expensive piece of jewelry (or other item) so far from home. We have a local jeweler that we have used for years and we have never seen anything cheap enough away from home that tempts us.

I've even seen pieces while traveling that I describe to my jeweler that he then custom makes for me. And they are still cheaper than anywhere else.
