  1. Everything that Redhead75 said and more.

No where near the amount of people as the Regal or Royal.

Better show lounge than the big ships.

TV's that can be used for video's.

Shorter walks with stairs that can be used mid ship.

    Indoor pool.

Caribbean Princess has an indoor pool? It's been a few years since we sailed on her. Is my memory failing?

  2. Hi all,

Last May we were on the CB post rehab and it looked horrible...we are on now and WOW! What a change...this beauty is sparkling! Looks like a brand new ship...we are in the St. John's suite D737 and its like brand new...I'm very impressed and this morning they had staff on the stairs shining and cleaning...clearly they listened!! I WILL be sailing her again now!!

We will be onboard in March. Can't wait! We are interested in the Sanctuary for a few days. Can you tell me if they are allowing passengers to sign up for single days in the Sanctuary other than standing in line that morning? Seems I have heard some rumors of being able to reserve single days at the beginning of the cruise.

    Happy Sailing!

  3. And much has changed since then - at least in our experience.

We like to send postcards to our granddaughter from our travels. The last few

times we have been to the Caribbean, the PSD was no help with postage or mailing. We have had to find a post office and buy the local postage stamps. Of course, this doesn't guarantee that she gets the cards. I think we run about 75% success.

  4. Instead of trying to check-in for a SWA flight from the ship within 24 hours, I pay $12.50 for Earlybird Check-In to avoid a group C (as in center ;)).

    EarlyBird Check-In

We'll automatically check you in and assign your boarding position within 36 hours of your flight's departure - that's 12 hours before general boarding positions become available. While EarlyBird Check-In doesn't guarantee an A boarding position, it improves your seat selection options to help you get your favorite seat.

We also favor the Early Bird check in. We only purchase it for one of us and that one saves a seat for the other. Gotta save wherever we can :D

  5. I'm sorry I failed to mention that the pictures are in the link at the bottom of my signature.

I turned off Signatures and can't remember how to get them back. Can you post the link to your pictures?

We cruised NY to Quebec in 2012 and I am finally getting around to scrapbooking the trip. Would love to see your pics!

    Thanks!

  6. I can't enter for the free cruise because the box to type the jumbled letters in is on top of the box with the letters obscuring them from view. Anyone else with this issue?

I tried to enter from my iPad and laptop. Could enter my email address and then a blank screen:mad:

Now, I need to check to see if I can still log into My Princess. Last time I entered a Princess contest, it knocked out my email address and I had to call to get a new password. Frustrating.....

Edit - tried again to enter and had the same issue as VaCruzers - you can't type the verification code because the text box is over it. Arghh - at least I can still use my sign on - guess that's a plus!

  7. At breakfast on the Island Princess one morning, a gentleman said he was recently on a Holland cruise where they ran out of something. Could any of us guess? Of course, guesses were prune juice, bran cereal, etc. Nope - the answer was caskets! They ran out of caskets!

On our UST, I asked how many caskets Princess has on a ship. The answer was they don't have caskets, just body bags. Cost and space saving at the same time!

  8. Must be a gremlin in the system for Caribbean Princess :-)

We are booked in F309 but since we are a few weeks from final payment, I am still obsessively checking pricing on our cabin class. :D When I view the deck plans by doing a mock booking from my "saved cruises", it will bring up the Fiesta deck for the Window Suites but shows all SOLD except F303 which doesn't show at all. Deck Plans on the Princess site show a cabin is there.

Not sure what that is all about!

    Platinum Disembarkation Lounge

In recognition of your loyalty, and to make your last morning with us more enjoyable, we invite Platinum Members to use the Platinum Disembarkation Lounge, offering light refreshments and peace while you await disembarkation

maybe it's just my mood today, but I love this one! You can enjoy "refreshments and peace..." Must mean that everyone else is hungry and in pandemonium!!!!

  10. We booked a cruise on line at one price, but on board we were charged a higher price and they refused to honor the online price.

Are you saying you booked the excursion online through Princess and were charged a higher price once onboard? That should not happen! As a precaution, I print out my excursion info and take it along. If they were ever to charge me a higher price, I would have proof.

    Sorry that happened to you.

  11. I agree with this. People were up in arms about not being notified about a $10 charge for Alfredo's. One day, we had well over $5000 in OBCs on our future Princess bookings all marked (right or wrong, but Princess determined this) as refundable. The next day they were non-refundable. That's a huge change, and kind of makes a $10 Alfredo's charge pale in comparison.

There just seems like there is something...not right about that.

Is your Military OBC showing non-refundable too? Just checked our statement for our next cruise and the Military OBC has no asterisk but our others do.

Not that it matters much, I'm sure we won't have anything left over even though we took advantage of the Pre-Paid Gratuities with the latest 'sale' :-)

  12. We went for the sale on our already booked cruise for March. While the fare did not change, we saved $168 with the pre-paid gratuities but lost $50 in OBC ($25 per person) from a previous promotion - OBC was $50 per person, now it is $25. Bottom line, we are ahead $118 - not a huge amount but I love saving any money I can. Yes, the deposit is now non-returnable/non-transferrable but we used FCCs so we will take the risk.

  13. I am sailing on Tuesday 16th sept from Southampton on the Emerald for 14 nights, I have just received an E mail with a move over offer, it is offering lots of different things if I sail on a different cruise, what does this mean? Have they overbooked? This is my 5th cruise with Princess and never had this before.

You will be fine - they will move on to another cruiser to get someone to take their offer.

Wanted to say - we have stayed in Bedford many times and it is such a lovely place!

Happy Sailing on the Emerald! We have been on the ship twice and had great cruises!

  14. We did the UST a few years ago and enjoyed it very much! Not sure how they might be doing it on the Regal (that Princess inconsistency thing!), but we were first to sign up at the PSD but were told that if more than the allowed amount for the tour (12) signed up, it would be determined by a lottery system. In other words, even though we were first to sign up, we could have been out of luck.

Be sure to pack lightly for your cruise as those plush robes take up a lot of suitcase space! :D

  15. We loved the quiet and seclusion of this excursion. They have a pool that you we just lived in for the entire time we were on this little island. You can go down to the beach and go in the ocean, however, we had heard alot about sand fleas on the beaches of Roatan and decided to just hang at the pool where there are lounge chairs. The whole pool area is sheltered by bushes. Every so often a plane would fly over us since it is close to the airport. It offered a nice buffet lunch and there were iguanas everywhere. Before heading back to the ship, we walked around the santuary to see the different birds and animals roaming. It was just beautiful. If they don't open this excursion back up, we will probably just hang on the ship.

Hope this helps make ur decision.

    Penny

Thanks Penny! Sounds like it would be a great time. Hope you get back on the confirmed list soon!
