  1. Unfortunately recent Posts from Guests on board indicating that there are numerous Cases on board would suggest that Pre Cruise Testing is largely meaningless in stopping the spread of Infections especially if the Company Protocols are not being followed by many Guests in the use of Masks etc. We live in difficult times and I agree that we as individuals must do what we feel comfortable with in any given situation.
  2. Just received an E Mail from Regent to say that Pre Cruise Testing will cease on 1st August in most circumstances. Lets hope that Silversea follow suit.
  3. Good Morning Silver Spectre - You are so right about The London Office and its lack of any real Customer Service. Unfortunately I feel you are being over generous in your reasons for ineptitude because in my humble opinion their swiftness of reaction to any request has been abysmal for Years, I agree that the current Flight situation and WFH is adding to the issue but share your view that Senior Management show complete disdain. I would say that it takes at least 4 chasers and many weeks for either my Agent or myself ( sometimes both ) to get any meaningful response to even the most basic query. In my experience over many Years, one gets on board a Ship exhausted and if it was not for the superb Service by the Onboard Staff we would have ditched Silversea many Years ago - If this element falls short ( as has been recorded by some Guests recently ) our Silversea Days are coming to an end. It is all most unfortunate as the reality bears little comparison to Barbara Muckermans vision of a Seamless Luxury Experience.
  4. Once again I am confused as to how the Captain can announce daily Covid Figures if, as indicated by Guests on board, Tests are not being done ? - Where do the Figures come from ? I also am somewhat confused by the thoughts on Mask Wearing. Whilst I agree we as individuals should protect ourselves as much as possible, how can we complain that others are not wearing Masks in situations that are not mandatory ?. I totally accept that Silversea Instructions should be enforced but as I understand it, these only relate to certain Venues and therefore other Areas are ' Personal Choice ' - what may be my choice may not be other Guests choice. I feel that Cruising at the moment is still far removed from what we experienced Pre Covid and we just have to accept that if we choose to be on board.
  5. Thank you hamasgirl for your update on the Covid Tests being performed on your current Cruise. I am interested to note that Guests on The Moon Report that they are not being Temperature Checked each day - if this is the case there is no consistency of Protocol throughout the Line which is somewhat worrying. I assume there are no Cases of Covid on your Cruise as there seems no way of knowing ??
  6. Thank you mysty & zqtchas for your responses on the current Covid situation on board The Moon. Am I right in assuming that the only Testing now relates to Daily Temperature Checks ? - If this is the Case, surely one could be ' Isolated ' for any number of reasons if ones Temperature is up ?. If I am correct in my assumption it makes for a complete Lottery that one could be forced to spend Days in ones Suite whilst others carry on as normal about the ship ( and maybe have Covid ? ). From our experience of Silversea over many years the Hot Bed of Contamination, for a number of Viruses, that was The Panorama Lounge on a Bad Weather Sea Day pales into insignificance !!!! We are due to join The Moon in September but now remain very sceptical.
  7. Can anyone provide details of what actual Testing is now happening onboard ? - It is interesting to hear the Reports of Numbers of Guests either in Quarantine ( and moving Suite ) or a ' Close Contact ' in their original Suite but how are these Folks being identified ? I appreciate that it is still a moving situation but what is happening now would be useful to know - here in the UK its as if Covid has disappeared with very little Mask Wearing and rapidly diminishing Test Centres.
  8. Good Morning Bobolz - When it happened to us we received no prior warning. The worst instance is that we ' Suffered ' a MoPar Incentive Group of say 100 ( about a third of the Guests ) and it was Hell on Earth. Drinking in excess around the Pool from early morning to late at night - Bread Rolls being chucked around the Main Dining Room etc !!!. The Officers seemed powerless to affect any meaningful change in behaviour for what I recall was 7 - 10 days. We made suitable representations both on Ship and on Shore ( on our return ) and did receive some compensation. To put it in context these are rare situations and the above is an extreme - Other times the Groups have been smaller but nevertheless any Group of say 50 or more does change the dynamics especially if Venues are closed off and those ' Guests ' are intent of getting every last drop out of their Freebie. I personally believe that Partial Charters should be either abolished or Full Paying Guests should receive well advanced warning.
  9. You are so right Stumblefoot - For the independent Guest such a Cruise is usually a disaster ( unfortunately in our long association with Silversea we have encountered more than one !!! ).
