Happy Thanksgiving my friend! The meal looks fantastic. Ever tried egg noodles on top of the mash potatoes and gravy? It's so good.
My favorite use for turkey leftovers is turkey and noodles served over mashed potatoes. I think it must be a midwestern thing. Both Dave and I are from Indiana and grew up eating this. When we moved south people were appalled that we would eat it. It’s my definition of comfort food. Unlike my mom, I don’t make my own noodles, I buy Reames frozen ones.

When you use your card to enter Coastal Kitchen for breakfast the person at the podium will ask your cabin number. You give the suite number and they see it has 2 people and there’s 2 people standing there. They don’t ask to see the cards. You are shown to a table. There is no issue unless the child with the suite card tries to go to CK for breakfast. As long as you are swapping and not adding, nobody cares.

Glad to hear he is doing better. Does he get fall allergies? I know the goldenrod is really bad this year.
The goldenrod is just horrible in South Carolina this fall.

There are very few posters on this site whose content I would never doubt. @chengkp75 is one of them. His posts are based on knowledge not conjecture.

Compensation
While your clients still get to enjoy their day onboard Anthem of the Seas, to help make up for the missed port, we will provide you with a one-day (1) cruise fare refund in the form of an Onboard Credit. This will automatically be added to your SeaPass account on boarding day. Any unused portion will be refunded to your credit card associated with your onboard folio.
For more context, one of the ship's four engines requires maintenance which impacts our speed. While this impacts our ability to deliver on the original itinerary, we're confident that it will still be an exceptional cruise vacation.
I would be quite satisfied with this. We have missed ports in the past and gotten a refund of port charges or nothing.

As long as they have Baklava, I'm a happy camper. Do they?
Last time they did and it was very good.

Before they started charging, we found these beds to be uncomfortable.
The ones in the Solarium on Mariner were awful. People would grab them and last less than an hour before moving on.

Thanks to all who helped with the movie selections. I went a different direction…
I just signed up for Britbox.com and am binging a show called Shetland. It about a small town as Scottish detective.
Very interesting story so far.
We love that show. Only problem is sometimes I can’t quite understand their accent.

That will be so helpful. Do you happen to remember how easy/hard it was to get to the Beach Club? Like in terms of shuttle, walking, etc?
We joined friends at their cabana last July. It was quite nice. I do remember that the bathroom was at the end of the walkway. If walking is an issue, you may want to consider this.

We were on a cruise many years ago where there was a young “lady” who was so drunk during the life boat drill she couldn’t stand up. She heckled the poor guy showing how to put on a life jacket. An officer came and led her away. The rest of us applauded.

I looked and WOW!!! I looked at 2 years from now - peak hurricane season, usually reasonable prices. The suite prices are ridiculous. Each of the 2 high end suites are more than $80,000 for a 7 day cruise. I’m not judging how others spend their money, but that’s amazing. We’ll stick with the other ships until the new cruise smell fades.
-
We enjoyed the feeling of space that the 2 stories give. I thought the balcony was fine. I did however, get frustrated. It seemed that no matter what I wanted it was on the other floor. I can’t remember which ship, but we loved the large walk-in shower. I believe some newer ships have a tub instead.

Guess that they wanted to avoid antibodies typically not found in men vs women who develop during pregnancy etc. They generally try to gender match when transfusions are necessary when possible.
Thanks. I have little to no knowledge of anything medical. I’ve always wondered.
-
Strangest one we had was about 1:00 am stating that a passenger needed a transfusion. They asked for any verified blood donors with O+, but specified male only. I didn’t know gender made a difference.

A whole whopping number of people don't understand percentages.
How old do you have to be to get a senior citizen rate?
I think 60, but I’m almost 70 so I’ve forgotten when I became eligible. I know Publix is 60 - they give a 5% discount on Wednesday.. I don’t mind using my age to get a discount, it means more money for cruising!

On a somewhat related tangent, when and why did the "normal" tipping amount at US restaurants go up from 15% to 18% or 20% or whatever it is now? I've been told that it's because of inflation, but if that's the case, then wouldn't that 15% tip go up along with the inflating prices of the menu items?
Agree.
This week I went to Great Clips for a basic haircut. The senior rate was $16. The credit card machine had 3 options for tip - $4, $6, or custom. That’s 25% or 37.5%. Wow!

What are some of the things you like about Columbus cove.
A little further away from the ship so it is usually a little less crowded. Sandy with a gentle slope. There’s a buffet close and restrooms. Quite a bit of shade.

I don't know, I never heard of the Savory Bites until a few months ago and while on this site. Still not sure what they are.
I’m probably one of the few people who don’t like them. I bake most of our bread at home and I absolutely love the breads they serve. It’s so great to have a selection of different breads.

On our last cruise (Mariner) everything was very good except the pesto pasta which was rather dry. The beef tenderloin was very tender and flavorful.

With the cruises we have booked, I have been trying to figure out when to renew. They expire spring of 2025 and we are cruising frequently before then. One cruise will need to be with birth certificate and license. My birth certificate is (obviously) in my maiden name and my license with my married name. Do I need to take the bridging document (marriage license)?
-
We have several suite guarantees booked. I fully expect to get a junior suite and I’m happy with that. For one of them I saved over $1000. Since none of the junior suites are in a horrible location, I’m happy to take a lower fare.

Not really necessary in South Carolina, but it sure is nice.
