My advice is, know exactly what you want because they are really not up to speed with Celebrity. They can book it, but they are not super familiar with Celebrity ships.

I would take JS 1100 or 1602 anytime. Love the afts on that class. For regular balcony cabins 9256 and 8168, both corner aft balconies. They all have large balconies.

Biker19 is correct in the old days there used to be a place where you could check the box if you wanted automatic upgrades. The OP said they toggled the switch so I was responding to that. It was never a “switch”, just a box you could check off. That disappeared a while ago along with being able to choose your amenities online.

Dunno, the its an "option" we've toggled in our Crown and Anchor account. If rooms aren't filled, upgrades are accommodated right before sailing. So if, say, a Jr. Suite is available and our status allows for us to move up, then someone with an inside suite could move to our balcony and so forth.
I toggled that switch many years ago and have yet to see an upgrade. I think now that they are using the RoyalUp system where people actually pay to upgrade we will never see free ones.

I thought in the beginning people were finding out about their bids several days before sailing, but that seems to have changed. Several people on my May 12th sailing have already had their bids accepted and now there are no suites showing open to book. Consistently inconsistent like everything else.

I have only bid on suites or higher and have been nothing but unsuccessful. Each time, every bid was either fair or higher.
Same for me 😢

our cruise was paid in full in December, but now the price is almost $1200 less than we pd! We are only 17 days from departure but think we should get FCC, on board credit or even a room upgrade from our current balcony to make up for this deficit. Has anyone had success getting any of these things? long time Norwegian cruisers but were not very happy abou this at all.
I have a similar situation. Last week I booked a cruise less than 60 days away so I had to pay in full when I booked. Three days later the price on my category dropped by $500. I had a feeling that was going to happen. My booking is thru my TA so I asked them if there was anything NCL would do. I was told NCL looks at it on a case to case basis and if I qualified they would issue a FCC. I haven’t actually heard from them yet so I’m not even sure what will happen.

On a recent back to back when we had to change cabins, we went and introduced ourselves to our new room steward and told him we were doing a back to back. He said he would do our cabin first so that we could access it early. When we went to our new cabin none of our stuff had been moved yet so we just went and got it ourselves.

It’s definitely an experience. We had an excellent waitress who explained and presented everything. I don’t think the experience would have been the same without her. The food was all very good, especially the short rib.

I got a 3-pack from the Optus store about a week and a half ago. They expire on 1/28/2023.

Question: will they inform you that your bid was not accepted, or do you just figure that out because you're in the same cabin you booked? 🙂
They sent me an email after we sailed 😂

I hope there aren’t going to be any new posts that start with “I’m rare on Cruise Critic” and I should be entitled to ………….

Are you saying you are D+ and had access to the CL?
No, sorry if that was confusing. D+ in a suite.

Yes, March 27th. I don't remember the number of Pinnacles but we met a "P" couple who chose to spend time in the D lounge and they commented on the relative emptiness in the CL.
We were on the Anthem the 20th and the 27th. When we went in the week of the 20th in the evening there were people in there and all the window tables were full, but I wouldn’t say it was crowded. I think it was announced there were maybe 100 D+ that week so I could see how it could get overcrowded really quickly. We didn’t go in the following week, so not sure if it was busy. I personally don’t like how far away it is from Coastal, so I don’t spend much time there on the Anthem when we are in a suite. The D+ vouchers are more than enough and I love that they can be used anywhere anytime.

Not sure if they officially renamed Anthem. Might be the same with Radiance and Vision ships
The sign still said CL a couple of weeks ago on Anthem.

Not sure where you live, but there used to be a bus that went out of Braintree, MA that went to the cruise terminal in Bayonne. I’m not sure if that is still running. The train from South Station to NYC is about four hours so I’m not sure how that would work timewise. Also I tried googling bus from Boston to Bayonne and a couple of things came up, but they’re all over 5 hours.

People (cruise lifers) who pull these stunts on a ship do the same thing on land. Nothing worse than an obnoxious self entitled bore!
I agree. It really bothers me.

Our recent suites offered the upgraded Malin+Goetz products. They aren't small tubes but large pump containers in a holder in the tub and in the shower. I'm pretty picky but these were actually very good products.
We had them in our GS, but in the JS it was the little white tubes.

On the Anthem in a suite a few weeks ago I witnessed a very unhappy D+ member berating the concierge because D+ were not allowed in the lounge. She stated that access to the CL was a written perk for D+ and she demanded she be allowed in. The concierge politely told her that it was a decision made from above and there were no exceptions. She was not happy.

I agree, the issue is with the TA. I had a cruise cancelled by Royal that was in a TA group. I wanted to move the funds to a future booking with the same TA and even that was a bit of a hassle. I had to get on a 3 way call with the TA and Royal and it still took a lot of time to get it accomplished.
I would try to escalate the issue with someone higher up in the travel agency. -

On board you can book via the app. No more waiting in line.
If it works. There were tons of problems with the app on our sailing.

The suite Concierge made all my reservations for me on Symphony last month.
I’m sure they can make them once the new voyage is loaded in the system which seems to be the day before, but I didn’t want to bother her so we just waited and did it ourselves. She actually offered to do it for us when we were on board, but the OP is not in a suite and I’m not sure that’s a service the Diamond Concierge would offer. The Suite Concierge emails you ahead of time, but I’ve never been emailed by a Diamond concierge.

Think Twice Before Booking Royal Caribbean

At least this is for 2023. What about all the Jewel sailings that were cancelled in January? Some people had already flown into Florida and had their cruises cancelled that were supposed to be sailing the next day. My back to back which was the following week was booked long in advance with great pricing. We weren’t given the choice to move to different sailings with price protection. We got FCCs and lost some money on airfare. Hey, stuff happens. At least you didn’t lose any money.
BTW, I didn’t stop cruising RCCL. I have three more booked this year.
