  1. Well this is probably a complete opposite response than most....we drink beer also...and on all 7 trips to Nassau ...we walk to the street one street behind the main one....lots of shops back there...and you can walk in and buy a beer .... really cheap...a couple of dollars...they put it in a brown paper bag and we walk around and drink it and then go back for another.....I am going back to Nassau on the 16th.....my husband died of a massive heart attack (no sickness at all before then) he had it on September 9th and died on the 10th.......and my plans include having at least a beer for me and one for him when we are in Nassau.

  2. I am guessing that I am not going to receive the Mastercard Credit on my November 16th cruise......the last time they ran the promotion I didn't receive the credit until a week or two before sailing....but I haven't noticed anyone posting lately that they were receiving the credit....

  3. I sent Carnival an e-mail and this was the response that they sent me today:

Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.

Unfortunately, our system does not advise which step in the process was not complete.

We receive confirmation to advise which guests are eligible, after they have completed our steps and we are unable to locate your information to apply onboard credit.

    Thank you for choosing Carnival.

I have responded back to them that I would like to have Master Card's address because I had a screen shot of the form that was submitted..and I wanted to know what part of the process did they not have.

And then Carnival sent me a survey a few minutes ago and wanted to know about the e-mail and if it answered all my questions and how satisfied I was with the response.

  4. I looked back at our cruise papers from last December when we had applied for the Mastercard promotion...it was about 2 weeks before the cruise but it did show up on our booking on line because I still have the printout and it showed as OBC. So I am still hoping that maybe we will get it for our November cruise.

  5. I knew and already have 50 bucks , my friend just moved here from Va and her and her mom just booked their first Carnival cruise

Won't you get your $50.00 Gift Card 2 weeks before they cruise? That is what the rules said....I got the confirmation that I have 3 $50 gift cards for the cabins the people booked this week....and I will get them in May two weeks before they cruise...but I can pull up on the form that they are there :) (just wish I could get the other 6 that were booked on Thursday .... this is all the same group of people that are going)

  6. How can you take advantage of a program you don't know exists? I had friends book a cruise with me but found out about this promotion one day after they booked it. AND I had spoken with my PVP via the phone regarding a price drop and he never mentioned the program! Carnival is refusing to give me the credit because I asked for it one day after my friend booked.

What did did they book their cruise?

  7. They said it didn't come out until Friday....which I don't understand since the date of it beginning was Thursday the 1st.....but I really do think if my referrals booked 6 cabins on the 1st ... I could understand it they booked on the July 31st... but anyway....I sumitted a request .....

  8. This is the best I could do copy & pasting it .... where the 2 blocks with x are .. on the form the top one says I want to refer a friend and the bottom one says I want to claim a referral reward.

You know how much fun a Carnival® cruise is. And you know people who deserve to have some fun on the high seas.

This exclusive VIFP Club Member offer is valid for new referrals made between August 1, 2013 - September 8, 2013. To qualify for this offer, you must be 18 years old or older resident of US or Canada and be a Red tier or higher VIFP Club Member. "Referrals" are defined as individuals who have never sailed on Carnival or existing Carnival Past Guests whose last sailing started before August 1, 2010. You will receive a $50 Carnival gift card for each qualified referral guest who makes a new cruise booking within 30 days of being referred or by October 8, 2013 — whichever date comes first. Referral booking may be made directly with Carnival or any travel agent. At the time your referred guest makes his or her qualifying booking, you must log that booking within the "sharecarnivalfun.com" online tool to receive the $50 Carnival gift card. First and last name of the referral submitted must match the logged booking. The gift card will be emailed to you two weeks prior to the referred guest’s sailing. Referrer must ensure that referred guest has completed Online Check-in (‘FunPass’) in order for gift card to be emailed.

A referred guest must be 18 years of age or older, and cannot be sailing in the same cabin as the VIFP Club Member who referred the guest. Existing bookings do not qualify for a referral reward. There is no limit on the number of referrals that can be made within the 30 day offer period.

Limit of one referral credit per stateroom; if a person is confirmed as a referral of a VIFP Member, no other VIFP Member may receive credit for that person or any other person booked in that stateroom. If more than one referral request is submitted for a person, Carnival Cruise Lines will process the first request received. Offer is not available to CCL employees or travel agents. Offer is available for active, individual bookings and not available for group bookings.

Gift cards are subject to all Carnival Cruise Lines promotional gift card terms and conditions. 9. So glad you posted this! One of my co-workers has been looking at taking a cruise for her 10th wedding anniversary and has been talking with me a lot about the ships, ports, etc. She is definitely booking the Freedom for February within about a week. I just submitted my referral for her. So hopefully I will have gift card in hand for my cruise on the Sunshine next year :)

If I can figure out how I could post the actual flyer he emailed me...it has the blanks where you type in their name and a phone number or an e-mail and yours ... and once they book it shows up....like I said I already have the 3 names on mine that booked on Monday and I didn't even fill it out the PVP did :)

  10. I figured that the reason he called to tell me about the program was that he knew that they were planning on booking some cabins because they had called them .. on Friday I didn't even realize that they had booked on the 1st....I was really excited when I found that out. So I naturally thought that was the reason for him letting me know. And he said that he did try to get me credit for them but they wouldn't let him. This was what he typed me.

Carnival will not do the others because they were booked before the program started. Carnival will not back date bookings sorry, I tried.

These are the terms & Conditions.... I highlighed the part in red...

  11. This may have already been posted and I may have missed it - but my PVP got in touch with me Friday and told that there is a new Referral Promotion that is going on where if you refer someone and they book a cabin with Carnival (a person that has never booked before or someone that hasn't been on Carnival since 2000) that you can receive a $50 Carnival Gift Card with no limit on the number you can receive. This is only going on from August 1 - September 8th. I had referred a group of high school seniors and they booked on August 1st .... since I didn't know about the program until August 2nd....I am not going to get those 6 cabins..that seems really unfair....but they told me that 3 more were booked this week and Carnival already has it logged in the system...because I just pulled it up. You receive the gift cards 2 weeks before they sail (I think) I have all the details of the promotion.

I am going to try and send an e-mail or something and see isn't there anyway that I can get credit for the other 6 cabins...because they know that I did refer them and they know that they have booked. But anyway....I have $150.00 in gift cards coming now (well in May of 2014)...

Wish this would have been going on 2 months ago because I referred 2 other couples that both booked a cabin....

Just wanted everyone to know about the promotion in case you didn't already.

  12. I took the link listed above and substituted the word "platinum" for the word "gold" and got a different form that lists a $200 OBC instead of $50, so it must be a different amount for different levels. After that, I substituted "diamond" and got a page that offered $300 OBC.

I filled out the page for gold ($50), but I will be platinum on my upcoming cruise. Maybe I should have tried for the $200 as a platinum member, but I didn't know if it would work because I'm still gold in the system until after my next cruise, and I thought it might get kicked out. Even though my luggage tags say "priority," under the VIFP club membership tab I'm still listed as Gold. Hey, I'll take $50. I did put the deposit on a Mastercard, and I did get a confirmation page but no e-mail confirmation. The fine print says it is good for "applicable cruises," so I guess we'll have to wait and see. Also one credit per stateroom, and it does look like this promo is different in that MC has to be used to purchase the cruise, not just for the S&S account.

Hope it works out for everybody, and thanks again for posting the link, jjh9!

I couldn't find anywhere to click to try and change it to platinum - we will be platinum on our next cruise. I filled out the form for the $50.00 credit and it took it so we will see. The last time I didn't get my credit until about 2 weeks before we sailed.

  13. We never heard noise from the hall in our cabin (we were the last cabin on the hall before you go out on the lido deck so you had to go through a door and then out on the lido deck. But we did hear noises several times from above us ... I guess with the Panorama deck being above it could have been the chairs or something moving around.

  14. The drink coupon is one coupon per person (if they are a past guest) that you have to take to the main dining room at either breakfast or brunch (or like on the Fascination last December - they didn't have brunch so we took it to lunch) you get one drink .... and that is the only place you can get it. I think that they do it that way because so many people probably never use it that way. With the Faster To The Fun - all we go was you get to board early - your room is ready and your bags are suppose to be there the time you get on - you get priority tendering off the ship (not getting back on though) and you get to get off the ship the last day early - also there is a special line at guest services you get to use (it is the same one that platinum and the ones higer than that use)

Now as for the ice .. now that you mention it they never brought us ice until we asked them - we had bought the blue cooler with the 4 bud lights, 4 cups, 2 coozies & a bottle opener and after the first day my husband asked them to put ice in the blue cooler ... and they did "kind of" keep ice in it for us. I wouldn't recommend buying this cooler if you are going use it for a cooler when we got back home the inside liner of it at the bottom was torn all the way around. And you ought to know that the 4 cups and the bottle opener were in the back pack that my husband left on the shuttle van:eek:

On past cruises there have been an ice bucket in the cabin but there wasn't even an ice bucket in the cabin...don't know if it was because the blue cooler we purchased was in the cabin when we got there or not.

  15. I had a really hard time getting this cruise review to do right...and then I couldn't get the pictures in the right place....and then after I did they all had to be taken out and put in 6 at a time ...I am glad that you were able to read it because I started just to delete it .... can't wait to read about your trip to Ocho Rios .... and if you get some of the coffee let me know how you like it...I can't decide if we just got the wrong kind of coffee or if we just don't know how to make it right :)

  16. I don't know what in the world happened with my review...I bet I worked on it for 2 1/2 straight hours.....I had all the pictures ... then it wouldn't let me post but 6 at a time and then when I tried deleting them....anyway you see how much blank space there is and how some are vertical and some are horizontal....good grief.........I'm not even sure if they are all there but I am sure that there are more than you probably want to see;)
