  1. Thank you! To update, cardiologist said great, do it. My friend can’t go. My son doesn’t think he can go because he is working on a time sensitive training class, but he is going to try and let me know for sure this evening.
  2. @Daisyloo thanks for the reminder! Lol. I’m out of practice and didn’t even remember that tip. @vswan you were in a rear facing aft? I was very curious how that would be and I feel like I’m leaning toward one of those, thanks. I’m going to go look at availability again. ETA: rear facings on deck 4 and 8 are available.
  3. No mid ship available. Fore or aft and some rear facing afts are available. I simply have no idea what would be best. Also, is it better to be higher or lower or does it not matter? I think deck 4-8 are available. Any helpful hints? Thank you! I don’t get seasick and I have done all of these choices on CCL but aft was an aft wrap (darn the luck, none available)
  4. Sounds amazing! I’m writing it down so I don’t forget it! Thanks
  5. Sorry if I missed it, but were you port or starboard? Thanks. Great report and I appreciate that you did this.
  6. Thanks to you both. My 25 year old son is thinking about if he wants to come but I did warn him there likely won’t be many people his age there. He is also wondering about if he wants to miss a saints game (season tickets). One friend told me she can’t and one more is considering it, so I’m waiting to see how this shakes out. Plus, I want the ok from my cardiologist (he was fine with me going to Seattle last week— I just got back! Lol. I had such FOMO with everyone talking about their Alaska cruise)
  7. I want to go look at this. Do I need to click on anything in particular to see the no single supplement? Thanks
  8. I think I’m doing my first solo cruise sept 11, 7 nights, Alaska from Seattle and back on HAL. My husband has been slammed at work short handed so he can’t go and I’m miserable sitting at home alone, so I think I’m going to do it. I’m waiting for 2 friends to decide if they want to go or not and then I’ll book. I’d prefer a roommate, but I’m completely ok by myself. A balcony is about $649 a person. So with that x2 plus port charges and fees, I guess it will be about $1500? Not bad I think for Alaska and HAL. I’m waiting for the planner to get back to me with a price.
  9. Do you ever get bored? Or depressed wishing loved ones would be there with you? The Alaska prices are so good that I might take advantage of the prices and do my first solo cruise. I have done solo trips before, with my longest a 14 day road trip from Louisiana to cape cod and back. I had an absolute blast by myself but I did get a bit bummed about not having anyone to oooh and aah with me for spectacular scenery. Did you ever feel unsafe? I’m female and in my 50s and looking at HAL.
  10. Thanks to you both. I did find an aurora forecast and there are some forecasted for the days the ship will be around Juneau and the glacier.
  11. Hi, everyone. The prices are so good, I’m thinking about booking a HAL cruise on September 11 (7 days, including Hubbard glacier). Seeing auroras is on my bucket list. Has anyone seen them from the cruise ship before? Thanks
