  1. Thank to you both. I just assumed I would do the PCR at 72 hours out and it would be easier. I guess I’m doing the proctored antigen test lol.
  2. A friend just told me her PCR was $250!!? Can anyone verify this? Thanks
  3. The only non stop from MSY to SEA is on Alaska and it also happens to be the most economical. It departs MSY at 7 pm and arrives at SEA at 10:30 p.m. so I’m arriving Friday night for a Sunday cruise. I put the cruise for sept 11 on hold 2 days ago and paid today (nothing like last minute). Anyway, just though I’d add since I see you are in la
  4. I just checked and cruises going to Canada and Alaska still have to do the pre departure tests and have to be vaccinated etc
  5. I’m betting this doesn’t apply to cruises with a stop in Canada.
  6. Hi, everyone, I’m in a starboard aft veranda cabin on Westerdam and have a Cpap. About how many feet of extension cord do you think I need from the outlet to the bed? Thanks.
  7. My dispensary had some gummies that are no THC, but CBD and CBN. Therefore, it is legal to bring on a cruise. I’ll take a gummy and a unisom.
  8. Remind me to not book a week before a cruise again when leaving from a new city and port! I understand Seattle has two different cruise ship ports? So which one does Westerdam leave from? Where is this information? I can’t find it, thanks.
  9. What about a Sunday … sept 18? Offhand do you know how many ships will be debarking? Thanks.
  10. Never mind, I decided to let my fingers do the walking and they said yes, they are the closest Hilton brand to the cruise ship pier. Thanks anyway!
  11. My son and I flew home from SeaTac a week ago today and despite arriving 2:15 minutes before the flight, we only made it to the gate 30 mins before boarding was to start (plane ended up 30 mins late). TSA lines were crazy bad, and one line stopped taking people because it wasn’t moving. They sent us to the next line which was about an 8 minute walk. The line was loooong but moving. I had to leave my purse and bags on the belt because I couldn’t do metal detector because of two new knees, and then my purse, bag and my crotch alerted, so I had to get secondary pat down in front of God and everybody and my purse and bag had to be searched. (I believe this was a non cruise ship crowd so just a regular day) I also have an 11 am return flight after the cruise, so I have decided to stay an extra night because I’m getting older and don’t want to stress out. This means I’ll be flying home on my birthday lol. ETA: having written all of that, I’m now wondering if I should give it a shot flying home the same day since it’s a Sunday.
  12. I hope they plan to arrive early so they have time to run and get Covid tests!
  13. It seems like it’s the Homewood suites Seattle downtown (it’s the only one I have seen that mentions cruises). Is anyone familiar enough with the area to verify? Thanks.
  14. I guess it’s lucky that I really don’t drink (I’m not opposed to it— it provokes a restless arms and legs cluster), so I don’t have to worry about assorted issues with that. Yes, I agree— situational awareness is key!
  15. Darn it. I may not have mentioned this is just a look see trip for me because I’m so bored. I’ll definitely check them out so when I go back with DH, we might try for an aft or an aft wrap.
  16. Thanks, he took a pass on the cruise. The saints game on the 18th is against Tampa Bay; he has never seen Tom Brady play so he wants to go heckle the team etc. It’s fine. I love my son and would have enjoyed him but he is a tad neurotic so it will be more relaxing for me to only have to deal with my own neuroses lol. It’s official! I’m solo! I’m working on my airfare now.
  17. Yea, that is sort of what I did: figured I’d want to see more land and things on the way up when I’m excited and then more of a sea view when we are going back.
  18. Ok, I just saw this. What is the structure by these balconies that give them more space? I’m going to go see if one of these is open. Thanks. ETA: they are both booked but thanks for drawing my attention to them
  19. Yes, that is where I’m stuck. I LOVED our aft wrap when we had one. Plus it’s pretty desolate back in aft in hallways which is fine, but I’m likely solo for this cruise.
  20. Thanks, the only remaining question I had was how much of the sky could you see? I was imaging looking back at a large night sky vista and star watching and looking for auroras. But it seems the balconies are pretty well covered. Thanks.
