  1. We were on same cruise and no reason whatsoever to miss those two ports. Furthermore, the remaining ports were underwhelming….one was a total dump! We were preparing to walk off ship when we encountered numerous people returning and saying a long walk over uneven ground to trinket shops. No shuttle or cabs at port. We took their advice and stayed on board.
  2. We had a similar situation and asked operator to add a cancellation clause or we wouldn't book. They did. Worth a try. On another note, it will be interesting to see how O handles a cancelled port with SM cruisers. If near end of cruise, should be some compensation...prob no $$ refund, but at least SBC or FCC.
  3. Oceania cancelled 3 ports last May. Both private excursion operators issued immediate refunds. Need to book with operators where contract state a refund if ship does not dock for any reason.
  4. Definitely need new agent! My agent has had the Summer Sale price on her website for 3 weeks.
  5. It was in May before final payment. He insisted his TA had to be right and my mistake. Of course I backed off.
  6. My TA is also the same member. These other TA’s probably don’t book a lot of O cruises. They’re quoting what they see on line. Our neighbor is paying approx $5,600 more for August ‘23 Riviera A4. I told him it was on Extraordinary Sale. His TA said I was mistaken and cruise was $200 pp more than when he booked. He insisted he has the “best” TA and she would know if there was a sale. We here on CC know better!
  7. It’s a shame that some TA’s are giving clients misinformation. They’re looking at O’s online price and telling them they have no savings. I told three couples we are doing tours with to call for the Summer Sale price. So far all 3 initially received wrong info and one has finally gotten TA to get sale price. Said they’re saving $2,500. The other two are getting no call back from TA. SHAME!! What’s the purpose in O not letting the sale price be transparent for all?
  8. Done today! Able to keep same cabin for both segments. A lot of time spent by TA, who now has a lower commission due to our saving $$.
  9. Our 31 day GV repriced to 15 & 16 day B2B. We lose the $800 on board booking discount but will still save $1,880 and we get SM included. We also lose our $250 shareholder shipboard credit but gain double spa certificates and $500 platinum SBC for each cruise.
  10. No….Told O working on it and TA will get back to me.
  11. Spoke with my TA yesterday. Her last week has been swamped with calls/emails regarding explanation of SM and now Summer Sale on top. I feel bad every time I’ve recently had her reprice another O sale cruise. Maybe O should have a dedicated line to assist previously booked passengers needing to reprice due to an O sale whether booked with O or TA and to field questions regarding SM. JMO
  12. Both segments are under the Summer Sale. The 31 day cruise is not.
  13. TA is correct. I have to cancel a 31 day cruise and rebook a 15 and 16 B2B. Our situation is not repricing but rebooking.
  14. The price on O website is NOT the Summer Sale price. Call O today or your TA and ask for sale price. The sale price will include SM. Our 31 day Grand Voyage is being split to a B2B. Comes out about $2,000 less even with losing $800 on board booking. We now get SM, $500 Platinum SBC and 2 spa certificates for each cruise. There is no B2B 5% discount. No stockholder credit. My TA did say there had to be a cabin available in the category to get sale price or you can go to another cabin level. If you booked on board, they should honor their promise of “best price”.
  15. My TA is overwhelmed with clients asking about SM…And now 72 Summer Sale cruises. O was supposed to make booking “simple”. Our Grand Voyage is being split to B2B. Several thousand less….a lot of work for TA.
  16. I guess this include On Board Booking discount, even though it’s not specified?
  17. Several cruises were cancelled over these 20 days and new cruises posted. Riviera dry dock was approx 3 weeks. You’ll love the shower. Just make sure your cabin isn’t one of the ones still with tub…unless you want a tub. I believe most cabins in B4 and A4 have tub remaining. Friends with us last February unknowingly wound up in A4 with a tub.
  18. We’ve been on Riviera….refurbished cabins are beautiful
  19. April 29 to May 18 O website shows no cruise for Marina. This would probably be dry dock dates.
  20. We received $250. I thought I wouldn't get it, but figured why not. We did pay for 7 days of 21 day cruise....not sure if that had something to do with it or not.
  21. Returned last month from 20th cruise. Platinum SBC and shareholder are applied about 3 days prior to cruise. You do get them. Just last minute.
  22. Bottom line is it’s a price increase with some “extras” thrown in. Product is still good, so not easy to change. For 1st time since 2007, we will look at Explora1, SS & SB. These previously were not considered, as we always booked Cruise Only. After upcoming 5 cruise only trips, we will take a look. Explora 1 ship looks beautiful….large cabins and verandahs. Looking forward to reviews after maiden voyage.
  23. Yes for 2 or $3,699 pp. All info listed prior but here it is again, A2 Vista 12 day Caribbean in November. However, why is sailing or ship important? Number of days determines daily new cost. Bottom line is our cruise is now $900 pp or $1,800 more. Sailing, ship, etc. is of no importance…New price is $75 pp daily or $150 daily for 2. Enough questions please….if you feel SM works for your cruises, go for it. For this booking the numbers say it all…Cruise Only. $1800 more for excursion credit and beer/wine and 2nd connection is no value. We have $700 SBC and using that up in 12 days is more than enough.
  24. $7398 for 2. This does not include any on board booking discount or TA amenity or shareholder shipboard credit
