We stopped in St. Maarten on a cruise in February; lots of stuff had re-opened, and sounds like more and more each day. They are working hard to get things back bit by bit.
-
We went on ship sponsored catamaran tour in St Thomas (Castaway Girl) and had a great time; and also in St Maarten (Golden Eagle). Both were tons of fun, and had a couple of stops each. It was in February of this year; the water was a bit clearer in St. Thomas the day we were there, but I am sure that could change when you visit. I would do both of these excursions again when we return to these ports.

Thanks for your review!

I realize if I ever want to do this, I'll actually have to check with RCL, but...what if one has a non-refundable deposit, but wants to re-fare to a lower sale fare? Thoughts?
-
That is wonderful news - we have this booked through Princess in a couple of weeks. We took it a few years ago and really enjoyed it, so glad to hear they are up and running etc.
Appreciate you taking the time to post.

We are going to St. Maarten Feb 7. Just received a cancellation for our booked snorkel excursion. bummed. Now I don't know what to do in St. Maarten.
Can you let me know..was it a ship sponsored excursion or private?

Yes, I can see all other room types. When I select suites the only option that comes up is junior suite. I keep trying but I have done about 12 different ones by now!

Thank you all for your responses; I was in the same "boat" and thought I was going crazy. I can see all the suites now as per the suggestion of non-refundable.

Wow does Princess ever love your attitude.
You could always ask for it & donate it to someone who will put it to good use. ;)
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this subject. The lack of ***** is not going to affect my enjoyment and I can't imagine calling Princess and saying it will just to get $100 OBC (no matter how much I could use it). Not wealthy, but just honest.

I tend to agree with this previous post. I am booked on the Regal for January 21st and have not asked for any extra on board credit.. When I agree to a price for a cruise and was happy with that price I do not look to change that price for something that will not at all effect my cruise experience.
I believe in being honest all the time and being honest this change will not effect my cruise at all.
Hope you all enjoy spending your new found OBC.
Well said.

You didn't say that you were interesting in a beach day, but if so if you check resort for a day dot com there is an option there for disembarkation days.

Thanks for your posting. We will also be newbies when we go on Sirena (not 'til 2019). Appreciate your insights.

Okay, glad I am not crazy. I was looking at the cruises last night, the screen refreshed and the prices increased substantially. I see they are still the higher prices this a.m. so I guess I missed my chance as well.

papa, very nicely put.

Agreed.

This thread makes for very sad reading and I am so sorry for all those who are affected.
We had a cruise cancelled by Azamara about three years ago. I was initially very disappointed but they bent over backwards to make things right and I was very impressed. But it appears that things have changed. It's very disappointing for all of us Azamara loyalists.
I've had cruises bumped by other cruiselines (chronic early booker), but none have gone as far as Azamara has for me in this instance, so I am impressed. Just wish others were as well :(

In the interest of complete fairness, while I was sending the below post, my TA did get back to me with an answer to my 2 questions...good job TA and Azamara!!!
Here are the answers direct from Azamara to my TA:
Yes, to question 1 and 2. Same pricing $ 5133.90 and an additional $500.
This may go with this... turning lemons into lemonade!
I am in the same situation - had a 7 day booked (loved the itinerary but oh well) and have now switched over to one of the options offered of a 9 day (also a great itinerary) at the same price plus $500. So I too am looking at it as making lemonade.
Sorry for those affected adversely though.

I'm finding this all very odd. I have booked my 1st Azamara cruise for Oct 2018; one of the missing cruises. And I have booked smaller cruise lines before so well aware of possible charters and changing itineraries. When this has happened to me (twice), the cruise line in question was in touch with me right away. But I have never seen itineraries disappear off a website for so long a period (until next Friday?) without any explanation what-so-ever.
Like a previous poster, if my cruise no longer exists as booked, I'd really like to know so I can consider my options.
-
I feel silly asking this, but hearing of those receiving good value from this "sale", I'd like to know: is the price that I see when I go to the cruise I wish to take reflective of the "nights on us" or do I have to finish the booking process to see the final price? The cruise I'm interested in is eligible for the sale, and did have a reduction, but only $870 for two (on a 13 night cruise), or $435PP. Certainly not three nights. I really don't get upset by the marketing strategies, just sometimes not sure if I'm reading them right!
Yes,in my case the final amount was shown on the opening page.
-
Well, I'll count myself very lucky; our Oct 2018 cruise is significantly lower, so we have been able to take advantage of the lower price.
-
Oh yes definitely. We spent several hours in Couillure as did most of the passengers on the "train".
Don't get me wrong - it wasn't amazing like many other ports, but we had a very enjoyable day regardless.
-
In slight defense of Port-Vendres, we stopped there with another cruise line, and although it was raining, we took a slightly-hokey, but cute tourist train (Le Petit Train) over to the pretty town of Couillure. The train returns to Port-Vendres through the vineyards. It wasn't the highlight of our cruise for sure, but we did enjoy the day.

Okay, I've read a lot of these posts, and spent hours on the Amazara website, and now I too have booked my 1st Amazara cruise (2018 Med).
We have done lots of mass market cruises (Carib) and smaller Windstar cruises (Med); now want to try something different.
The itinerary couldn't have been better if I hand-picked it myself. However, I am pretty risk-averse, so its a bit nerve-wracking changing it up though :) !

Not sure if you mentioned what time of year?
We had a french balcony for Glitter and Glam of the Riviera in October last year, and would definitely do it again. But this is probably pretty subjective - everyone's idea of worth it would be different.
-
Glad you enjoyed it!

Just booked my first ever Windstar cruise (DH has sailed a number of times) Any and all advice or redirects to threads about Windstar, warm weather cruising, ports, etc., would be most welcome!
Lucky you! Can't wait to book our next Windstar cruise. My advice would be to do some prelim research on all the ports you are expecting to visit. We've really benefited from doing this in the past because we prefer to do independent touring where we can, but I think its a good idea for anyone for maximum enjoyment and more importantly maximum pre-trip excitement!.
What did you do on Yachtsman's Harbors of the Rivieras?

Haven't been to Sanary, but all the others. We did quite a bit of research and did our own thing in each port. We enjoy walking so most of our self-guided tours involved getting some much-needed exercise.
