  1. Except there's nothing to keep your pillows on the bed. They will fall off.
  2. It's not difficult but it is irritating. Usually best to aim for Miami or possibly DFW or ATL then a short flight to SJU. I'm not sure if there are many, if any, good long haul options directly into SJU. In San Juan it is likely that you will embark at Pier 4 in downtown but it might be the Pan American dock which is miles away altho' it's mostly the big ships at the PanAm.
  3. I was recently on the Shadow and the little jars of goodies appeared after I mentioned their absence to my butler.
  4. Usually the Cruise Terminal at Pier 4 right in downtown. Docking location can never be guaranteed but SS ships are usually at Pier 4.
  5. Caveat Emptor. The prevalence of these rip off places such as Diamonds International and Colombian Emeralds - not to mention art auctions - must mean there are many pax foolish enough to buy from them but I find it almost unbelievable. I understand the enjoyment of pottering around the shops while travelling and buying this and that but I'd never buy anything involving serious money.
  6. Same for the Spirit TA Mar '26, moved up from 23rd to 2nd. The original date had disembarkation on Easter weekend which is not a great time to travel so the new date is much better for me - I'm actually very pleased.
  7. The earlier post in this thread - #46 - gives you the name of the preferred traveller security lane - not TSA but TSA equivalent. It's a useful idea to read the whole thread from the beginning, your questions may have already been answered.
  8. The Canal is never cheap - solo, double or whatever. And I would be very unlikely to be looking to book a cruise only six months away - I almost invariably book well over a year or more into the future, and while I'm onboard, to help offset the cost of solo cruising. The fare guarantee does work - I regularly check my future bookings for possible fare reductions and my TA is very good at chasing them up - you have to do the work yourself and ask SS for the reduction, it's not offered - but it's worth it. This LA - Vancouver cruise changed price and to a 25% solo supplement after I had booked it and I got over $7K fare reduction.
  9. Muse currently showing cruising the Med till Dec 5th, all cruises priced, but then waitlist - not surprising since she’s supposed to be in Mumbai by December 22nd. So if SS is going for a longer Med season then clearly the subsequent cruises will change.
  10. They say 90 days to cover themselves. I've never had a refund take anything like that, even in the height of the Covid shutdown.
  11. Quoted you to indicate I was, indeed, expanding on what you had stated. I sometimes get the impression that not everyone appears to follow a whole thread in order.
  12. Excellent news Spins, I'll look forward to it. I might have considered the Canal leg too but I just did it this past April on the Nova - in fact, it was going ashore in San Pedro on our way to Vancouver that reminded me all over again why I stay in Long Beach.
  13. I was on the Shadow very recently and this was the case for using the standard, free (well, included in the fare), wifi. Maybe there is some confusion about the double options to upgrade? Using the standard plan, one can upgrade to a second device per log in for $30 per cruise. OR one can upgrade to the premium wifi which (very recently anyway) is $20 per day whole cruise or $29 per 24hr slot for up to four devices simultaneously. When setting up the wifi log in it can be a bit confusing - I once upgraded from one device on standard to two when I meant to upgrade from standard to premium - I had to go to reception to sort it which they did very quickly. Looking at the prices quoted by the OP, they seem to be a mangling of both sorts of upgrade? Now, I'm not saying this hasn't changed but no-one else has reported a change - perhaps we must wait for further reports? I'm not back on board till November ...
  14. PS this is to show where the desk is in relation to the rest of the cabin - the outlets are by the phone at the verandah end of the desk.
