  1. @sloppjohnb - I will try and go to it though I’m highly unreliable when it comes to these things.
  2. @caviargal come if you want. No one checks or cares. I will talk to my Butler and cabin steward before making a final decision about vacating the room. While I don’t plan to rush in the morning. They are the ones that will feel the burden the most of this fiasco. I do plan to leave our Carry on and husband’s guitar in the cabin until close to disembarking. We won’t use the bathroom or anything when we come to retrieve them.
  3. St Kitts on our own. We chilled and went for a walk. It was Sunday so once you left the sanitized Diamond international section the area was very quiet. The Ferry to Nevis is walking distance should one want to head over there. We went to clock and Independence Square. Notice the Egret on the statue. We were greeted by a very proud rooster. Later we enjoyed a beautiful sunset followed by gorgeous colors. I only got a photo of the pre sunset. The balcony railing was in the way for photos. Late sailaway.
  4. Antigua was next. I did the accessible highlights and Nick did the cataraman to Bird Island. We saw lots of scenic views, information center video which was like being in a diorama. I can see why most people would find this not to their liking but I thought it was kitschy fun. Then the fort, views of Eric Clapton’s house, Nelson’s bay, English Harbor. Then rum punch at Nelson’s dockyard. Had a guide from the dockyard for a brief tour who we couldn’t hear or understand. Rum punch and a look at beautiful modern sail boats. Nick’s catamaran tour received raves from some and disappointment from others. Didn’t really see much despite the lively description. Dead coral. I think we have totally burnt out on excursions and turned the remainder of our tickets in. Nothing wrong with the excursions we are just enjoying chilling and wondering on our own scheduled after 60+ days.
  5. Will they say anything useful at the Venetian Society cocktail reception tonight? I wasn’t planning on going but may stick my head in just in case something is actually said.
  6. Just checked the weather. First time I’m disappointed that it’s sunny and clear. I for one was hoping for down pouring rain. Yes, I’m on the GV on the Nova.
  7. No sure what happened to my commentary. 3/8/24 Castries, St Lucia. Ship tour with 6 guests, Wheelchair accessible highlights. We had a driver, a guide and a guide in training. Photo stops, fishing town. In the town Nick watched a fisherman clean Needle fish and the guide bought him some at a stand to try. We saw the Pitons, and toured the botanical gardens all the way to the water falls. The gardens have many accessible paths with uneven but manageable paths of concrete. (Stairs and steeper paths as well which we did not explore). The water falls require traversing gravel backwards if using a wheelchair and some stabilizing if you are not a steady walker (someone’s arm, a cane, or a walking stick is helpful in this local). We then had lunch which was tasty before a ride back to port. Along the way the driver and guide made stops to pick leaves for us to smell and taught about the medicinal qualities of each one. Very good guide and driver and lovely day. Others reported thier tours were good too!
  8. Forbes is spot on! RCCL should listen to this article. It is so well put. It is what has been said onboard for days. Silversea is going to have to step up if they don’t want to lose customers.
  9. @Dolcevita Diva and we didn’t have lunch??? Lol @mchell810 great photo. It was indeed a lovely day.
  10. @agape01 yes unlimited caviar from your Butler. It is not on the room service menu but has not been a problem even on short notice. Some people have standing orders however we are more of the: let’s have caviar In the room now…
  11. Here is the Silver Dawn all lit up
  12. I’ll get us back. Here is the sunset in Bequia
  13. @Carolfay thanks. Very interesting
  14. @Observer there are about 150 of us on the GV. Someone said there is a letter circulating, some people unfortunately are taking their frustrations out on employees (not management), and others are simply moving on. I do not envy the Captain tonight at the formal night cocktail reception. I for one am still annoyed but there is nothing to be done, I have politely voiced my displeasure and it has been noted, I have changed our flights, resigned myself to arriving home late at night, and decided it’s time to enjoy what time we have left of our cruise.
  15. Well here we are on day 2 of our last leg. 3/5 Barbados. Nick and I walked around on our own, did a little spice shopping and had lunch. It was super hot. Came back, rested and prepared for our last GV event. An arena style polo match and dinner. Lovely evening with entertainment, good service, good food, and most importantly new friends.
  16. Defiantly C as well as A or B. I doubt Silversea initiated this idea.
  17. The irony is I am a RCI cheerleader. They have brought inclusiveness and wheelchair accessibility to Silversea. The Nova is light and airy and has lots of positives IMHO. This episode is just plain dumb. Nor sure which is worse: - did they realize they would inconvenience and alienate people and not care? or -did they not realize they would upset people?
  18. Annoyed to angry. We just spent $1800each to rebook flights and will know arrive home late and probably exhausted. Needless to say they have managed to upset an otherwise happy and excited to return group of Grand Voyagers. Did they just discover this? Weren’t the ships scheduled months ago? Should have added an overnight way ahead of time and we would have all planned to disembark on March 16. The whole thing is what you would expect of a 14 year old. My husband suggested we all show up on deck for the filming in the nude!!!
  19. Sea day Lunch schedule. Checked through some chronicles and it is consistent with this one from today.
  20. 2/29/24 Parintins, Brazil. Our last stop in the Amazon. We tendered to a boat which we then embarked on walked across and then disembarked on shore and up a hill to waiting pedi bikes and buses. A hot and fun day. Transportation on an accessible pedi bike. 400 and some cruise passengers head to the practice stadium of the Red Bull to see a one hour Boi Bumba Show. Once a year in June there is a competition between the Red Bull and the Blue Bull, the two groups perform in a stadium in front of 35,000 people and are judged with one winner. When cruise ships are in port one of the two groups puts on a performance at the practice space. We saw the red group. Nick and I also had a city tour on two pedi bikes with a 15 year old high school student guide. She took us by the blue school and the stadium as well as the obligatory churches.
  21. @drron29 I wouldn’t be surprised that our ship tour guide was inaccurate- though probably not intentional. He did say males built the nest and did not specify if it was the matting male. @BBGrace273 formal is optional on the Silver Nova. However, my husband had sandals on one formal optional night and was passing through Dolce Vita, ran into friends and sat down to chat for a minute and was sent home to change shoes. It is the only dress code mention we have heard in 50+ days. La Dame the up charge French restaurant requires a jacket every night. Formal night is what you make it. A collard shirt for men will do, however I would recommend a sports coat at least if you want to fit in with the majority. Marquee you can wear short pants though it’s rare and will be rare in Alaska as it is too cold for shorts at dinner which is not the case in the Amazon. Really bring a few outfits you’d wear to a nicer restaurant in a big city and you’ll be fine. Bring a gown if you’re looking for an excuse to wear one. It’s really your call. 7 of us had dinner together tonight and we all said how glad we are for the relaxed dress code especially after 50 Days. there is no charge to use the spa facilities you mentioned. Only charges are for spa or beauty salon treatments.
