  1. We've decided that for us the new mask protocol won't work for our December 20th cruise.  The email with the new protocol mentioned that they will accommodate a switch in cruises.  My question is can Royal process this directly or must you go through your booking agent? I've been on hold for literally 4 hours with the MLife booking agent, and still on hold.  If RC can process the FCC or change in cruise directly, what's the best number to reach them at? If I don't reach anyone before my cruise sails on Monday, am I SOL on my payments?

    Thanks in advance..

  2. 603,  Just re-booked a rebook on a land based casino cert.  I didn't change itinerary, only date, so it was no problem at all, though I would move with some alacrity to re-book.  I was explicitly told that CAS reserves the right to not honor the original (long expired) land based cert if you wait too long, though time period for "waiting too long" was not specified for me, as with prior post indicating 30 days.

    Good luck!

  3. Would appreciate any information on this stateroom on either Bliss or Encore for anyone who has seen it or stayed in it. Is the balcony angled and larger?   Is the stateroom door inset toward the hall from the cabin immediately preceding it toward the bow?  If so, does this impact the size of the inside space or balcony? Pictures a huge bonus if you have them.  Thanks! .

  4. If it was a voucher issued through a land based casino, there have been a few different experiences reported on the Boards. Mine was to permit use of the voucher on the same itinerary a year after the cruise that was cancelled, permitting use of the 100% FCC that was issued with the cancellation, but not use of the $25% FCC (still banked for another cruise).

  5. I have always wondered why the NCL Joy was built without a thermal spa. A fellow cruisegoer once told me because the ship was designed for the Asia market, but I'm not following why that matters.  Is it the only Breakaway Plus Class that lacks one?  It seems when you overlay the deck plans with Bliss and Encore, for example, the ship was designed substantially differently on Decks 16 and 17, and is the only one that splits the fitness center and spa on two different decks. I guess it may also be the only one that still has a Spice H2O. Can anyone shed any light on these questions and has NCL announced any long term plans to add one at any point in the last year?  Thanks.

  6. Sharing my own experience:  Was able to book using a land based casino cruise certificatethat had already expired for a cruise in 2021 (on a different ship) for the same itinerary on a cruise cancelled in early May 2020 by NCL in which I had used the same land based casino certificate (cruise is 364 days after original date for embarkation).  All FCC could be used to pay administrative fee, port taxes, and dining plan gratuities. However 25% bonus FCC could NOT be used to pay anything in conjunction with the land based certificate use.  It can be used for a different cruise not using a land based certificate I was told. Land Based certificate was for an inside room, and included 3 free at sea offers (dining plan, internet, excursion credit).  Also $100 OBC offered.  I had thought I was entitled to all five of the free at seas under the existing promotion, but my wife and I hardly drink and in any event I thought it was more than fair the way NCL handled this.

  7. I've read on this Board one instance of how a land based casino certificate was handled by CAS for a cancelled cruise, but that was some time ago.

I am now in that same boat as I was using a casino certificate for a cruise embarking on May 10th.  Can others who are similarly situated please share their experiences with CAS?  I would be very grateful.  Most interested in how they are treating the casino certificate/are they honoring it even if it is long past expiration/and for how long?  Thank you.

This is an interesting development. For anyone who is steeped in cruising economics, can they please post as to whether the cruise lines would actually subject themselves to US jurisdiction by moving to US? they might not have a choice if the situation is dire.  But I had understood that doing so would make them subject to US Labor Laws, which would significantly increase their costs, and also subject them to US federal tax that would significantly increase their costs as well.   Would be very interested on getting insight on the facts here. Thanks.

  9. One logged in device at a time per wifi plan. IOW, you could have 75 devices using one plan, but only 1 of the 75 can use the wifi at one time. Log out of the active device and then log-in to the second device. If you want 2 or more devices logged in at same time you will need to buy a second plan.

  10. It's *** possible *** things change, but as of December upon your embarkation on Encore you can book all entertainment shows in the Social and dinner reservations in Teppanyaki, right across from one another on deck six, a short walk from the atrium.
