Hi All,

Does anybody know why on the US NCL website you can find "solo discount" cruises by checking the little box when looking at the filter section BUT on the Canadian site or for that matter the UK site this doesn't exist?

I'm on the Sky's May 29 cruise and received a solo discount when booking through my PCC.  I wasn't aware there was one on this cruise until he told me.

I tried emailing my PCC with this question but he didn't get back to me.

Hi All Again,

Interesting, when I log into NCL's US site and look up the cruise you screenshot as well as my own cruise  I see the Senior Discount box to check.  But, if I do the same when logging into NCL's Canadian site, since I live in Canada, I don't see it when looking up the same cruises.

As mentioned earlier my PCC gave me the Senior discount when I booked.  Any explanation for the differences in the sites?

Hi,

I'm on the May 29 Norwegian Sky cruise.  I received a solo discount but only because my PCC told me I was eligible when I went to book the cruise.

Although I have looked numerous times on NCL's website exactly as you stated above I have never seen the Solo Discount option shown.  I am in Canada so could that make some difference?  But, I did receive the discount.

Can you send a screenshot showing the Solo Discount option.

You can find solo "discounts" on many cruises at any time.  They don't necessarily promote them as a "sale" however.  You just need to search for them.  On the NCL home page, use the standard search capabilities and select the "More Filters" link on the right side.  Change your # of Guests to be 1.  Then you will be able to select "Solo Cruise Discount" as an option, which will find cruises with a current solo discount.

 

Since it seems you already have cruises booked, all you can do is to keep looking at your cruises to see if/when they offer a solo discount on it.  They do not always.  They seem to do these discounts as the cruise gets closer and they have a quantity of rooms available.  In other words, they are doing whatever they can to fill rooms.

 

I don't know that I have ever seen an NCL Solo promotion across the board on all cruises.

Hi,

#3 Question:  When I went to book my 100 minutes and got to the payment page the Sapphire 20% discount didn't show up.  I phoned NCL and was told to go to Guest Services when I get onboard to receive it.  Why not online?  I didn't ask.

If you are booking any Wifi online and you deserve a discount, such as 20% for having Sapphire status, you will have to go to Guest Services when onboard to receive it.  I phoned NCL this morning.

So, make a note and don't forget to go to Guest Services!

Hi,  I posted the following earlier today on another place on this forum as MYNCL was showing only 36 excursions available and this has been the same for months.

I just checked with Shorex and they said that 36 or 37 excursions showing is correct.  Reason being all the problems arising from Covid 19.  There are companies who have gone under and the lack of personnel.  Also many people may have booked very early and they are now all booked up.

It was suggested to look under the Shore Excursion page and take note of any excursions you might like and when onboard see if any of those are available.  It looks like there is a good chance according to Ihavetocruisesomewhere mentioned.

Following that I booked 3 excursions.  Just a few minutes ago I checked MyNCL and there are only 21 excursions showing up now!!!!!   Two of the excursions I booked are no longer showing up.

I thought I had posted earlier but it doesn't seem to be here,

Anyway, I'm on the Sky's May 29th cruise. There should be more excursions turning up soon.  There are only 36 showing on my page, I did book one, for Miami.  I have been following the excursions for months so it cannot be that excursions are filled up and no longer available as Bird Travel mentioned.

For whatever reason NCL seems to be waiting longer in order to publicize our choices.  Keep checking every day.      happytotravel

I'm on the May 29th cruise.  I'm sure there will be more options to be listed by NCL shortly.  There are so few listed now but hang in there and check everyday.

I don't why NCL seems to be taking so long in posting more of their excursions for this particular itinerary.

My page shows 36 available excursions.  There should be a lot more to choose from. I imagine the rest will show up in a month or so.  I just have to be a bit more patient.

It seems roll calls have gone over to social media or so I'm told.  My May 29, 2023 cruise has 3 people on it including myself last time I checked.

It's too bad as for years I too have enjoyed using them.  I don't use social media.  Maybe it had to do with the pandemic.

At any rate, enjoy your cruise and I'm sure you'll meet some fine people onboard.

Thank you.  Actually, I won't miss Moderno as I've eaten at the restaurant on another ship and although they had excellent food I ate too much and was feeling super full afterwards.

I'm on the Sky later in May and was looking to book my latitude rewards dining venues.  I see the Sky has Cagney's, Le Bistro and La Cucina but no Moderno.  Is that correct?

NCL's computer is still playing games.  It corrected itself yesterday BUT TODAY it added my DSC to my account balance again.  Hopefully, tomorrow it will correct itself.

Just read on Cruise Industry News that the Joy will be taken out of service between January 06 and February 16, 2024 to be revitalized.  What could they be doing?  It was only built in 2017.

I have found the same thing for my cruise on the Sky for May 29 concerning the roll call.  It's unfortunate as not everyone is on "that" site or other social sites.

My cruise last September on the Joy had a very vibrant roll call.  Why do you think that folks had switch?

I've just noticed that my OV sailaway cabin for Norwegian Sky's May 29 Caribbean cruise has gone UP  $400.00.  All cabin prices have gone up no matter what type of cabin you choose.  So glad I booked when I did.

I guess there is a lot of competition for cabins.

As everyone has said do what make's YOU feel comfortable.  I was on the JOY in September and wore my mask but most didn't.  I had no problem and as I still wear a mask when going out to places where there are others I plan on wearing mine on my May cruise.

Don't worry about those around you and their choice you do what's good for you.
