I would allow two hours of travel time on the shuttle from LaGuardia to the mid town west side of Manhattan from the time the shuttle leaves the pick up point.

While you may be lucky and zip right in (forty minutes), any New Yorker will wisely allow for the traffic accident, road construction, and random everyday A-hole doing something stupid.

Thanks, I'll check with NCL to see when they think the transfer will leave the airport.

In the paperwork when you arrive to your cabin, they state that only TP is to be flushed down the toilet and if you are guilty of causing an issue they threaten to charge you.

On MSC, there is a sign directly above the toilet in each cabin that also starts they can charge you.

    Hi All,

What happened to the other 29 cabins that were on the same line?  If someone throws stuff into the toilet that they shouldn't the blockage is there and would affect them  all.  This is not the fault of NCL. It's the fault of the yoyo who did it.

I find it hard to believe that a change in cabin was not offered.

No rush. Just been cruising since 1986, over 130 cruises, and they all want their money way in advance. What's the difference if they allow you to check-in earlier? You can still cancel anytime.

    JMHO!

It becomes a lot of extra work for NCL  if people did  their check in months in advance and then decide to cancel.  I'm sure it was no picnic for them during the pandemic when all those cancellations came through.  No matter what folks may say or complain about the cruise lines do try to do their best, I'm sure.

  4. Hi to OP,

Please consider getting insurance as you NEVER KNOW what can happen when on a cruise.  You could get ill and need to go to the medical center or worse yet need to be evacuated from the ship.  Something could happen while on shore and you could need medical care at one of their hospitals.  With no insurance you will be paying out of your own pocket and that could be extremely pricey.

We will be going on the Canada/New England cruise on the Joy NCL in Sept.  Does anyone have suggestions regarding Sydney tours: Scenic Cabot Trail or Bras D'or Lakes Grand Tour

    Hi,

I'm on the September 06 Joy cruise.  I've booked "Spirit of the Senses" in Sydney and "Views of Halifax" while in Halifax.  There is also "Pier 21" museum right at the port which you might enjoy.  It was where immigrants coming to Canada came through years back.  I've been there several years ago and hope to visit it again if I've time.

What ever you decide I'm sure you'll have a great time.  I can't wait!!!

NCL is not very good about applying discounts. Call or book onboard, with assistance from the internet manager.

Thanks for your reply.  It works fine when booking shore excursions.  I get my $50.00 US off plus 15%.

I will wait until I get on board.  I have 60 minutes free already and we'll be on shore 7 days out of 10 so I probably don't really need more then.  I really need it only for emails.

    Take care,    happytotravel

  7. Thanks All,

I went as far as checking out and the price was still $140.00 and I didn't want to go any further.  I would think that the discounted amount should show up like it does when booking shore excursions and you reach the check out area.

I don't really want to put in my CC number before knowing the real price.  I probably don't need more than my original 60 minutes anyway since we will be ashore 7 days out of 10.

Looking forward to my cruise like everyone else these days.

  8. Hi All,

I posted this over at Norwegian Cruise line but thought I'd also ask here.  I presently have 60 minutes free and am Sapphire so would get 20% off of a purchase.

I looked at 250 minutes which would be $140.00C.  When I went to book the price remained the same.  There was no 20% discount.

    Any thoughts?

    thanks,  happytotravel

  9. Hi All,

I was looking at possibly purchasing 250 minutes of internet time.  I already have 60 minutes from a promo and would get 20% off from any purchase being Sapphire.

I tried booking to see what the final price would be.  Original price for this is $140.00 Canadian.  When I go to pay the price remains the same without showing 20% off.  Any explanation?

    Thanks,

This is where you lose me.  Why on God's green earth would anybody on Great Stirrup Cay spend even a minute watching the TV?

My thoughts exactly!  Folks should enjoy the beach and the fun of it.  They can watch TV or movies when they get home.  This is a cruise!!!!!

  11. Hi All,

My cruise is in September from Montreal to NY with Air Canada.  I'm planning to travel with only a

carry-on this time.  It's enough hoping the flight is on time, as the the cruise is the same day,  without worrying if the luggage shows up.

Yes, I know I should have booked the day before, like other years, but unfortunately I didn't.  I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

  12. Thanks everyone.  I'll bring a book from home but always like to see what's available on the ship.

On one cruise I was introduced to Erin Hunter's "Warrior Cat" series and now have all but the latest book.  It's a great series even if you are now "young at heart".

Enjoy whatever cruise you are planning!

  13. I'm sure the Observation Lounge would be a nice quiet place to read if you brought your own books.

When I was Iooking at the deck plans I couldn't find a "library" as on other NCL ships.  My download copy of the ship's guide shows it should be on deck 6.

all that being said ,however, while $50 off is better than a stick in the eye,  when youre booking high end excursions (check the helicopter ride to the glacier, or the river seine and lunch in paris), the $50 off becomes negligible. and to again belabor the issue, none of the excursions offered on any ncl ship, regardless of port, are "FREE" unless you just want to get off at one of their private islands and do nothing but lay in the sun and/or swim

    Hi,

I'm on the Joy in September and am Sapphire.  My excursion in St. John NB on the Trolley  is free since I get $50.00 off plus my 15% as well.  So, there is at least one excursion that really is free.

    Take care,
