  1. I am also interested in the type of bus used for this tour. Our son is two and we need to know if their busses accomodate car seats. I emailed them over two weeks ago with no response.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Forums mobile app

I sent them my questions last week and got that response the same day regarding the bus description. The did say there is plenty of room, but everyone has a different opinion on that. The very last row of seats in the back is 5 seats across. You could try to email them again regarding the car seat. Good luck:)

Also they hold 25 people, cloth seats, large viewing windows.

  2. They run several buses, so you need to ask them your specific questions. But, if you normally can't tolerate buses, then this is not the tour for you, nor should you assume you are going to get any "prime" seating etc.

I DID ask them the specific questions regarding

THE bus, that is how I got the info. I posted.

Not only do we tolerate buses, we enjoy the bus tours very much.

Do not assume we are assuming a "prime seat".

Now back to my original question, if any one with experience riding this bus can please give the feedback I would kindly appreciate it:).

Did you feel there is sufficient leg room for a tall person? Did you feel certain rows were better then others for photo opps? Which side of the bus would you recommend for best viewing on the way back?

    Thank you in advance.

  3. Skagway: Yukon rail & bus excursion: can you tell me more about the seats on Chilkoot 25 passenger bus. I understand they are bucket seats with center isle, two on each side. Is there plenty of leg room for 6'4" man? Best row to sit in? Up front or further back for best photo opps. Best side to sit on for ride back? Any info. is appreciated. It is a lot more then I wanted to spend, but am close to booking it based on the reviews. Thank you

  4. Has anyone else purchased a future cruise certificate for $100 and not been able to use it within the 2 year period and been able to get the $100 back?

We purchased one, the onboard credit expired on 4/06/14. So I realize we will not get the free $100 on board credit next time we sail. So I called today to get the deposit back we paid of $100 and they said no it expired. I understand the on board credit expired but not the depost refund.

No where on the certificate does it say the deposit won't be refundable. The sales pitch we were given was we had nothing to loose by buying this, if we don't sail with in 2 years, We would get the $100 deposit back. They guaranteed we could not loose our $100 when they sold it to us, they said nothing to loose, never mentioned you have to ask for the $100 before the 2 years and it was not written in the paper work either.

We have purchased these in the past and used them. I hope our experience can help someone else from making the same mistake we did, by believing everything they say.

  5. if you've never been to new Orleans I would choose Serenade, and go at least a day early.

We just did our first royal Caribbean cruise on Serenade a week ago. It was the easiest ship to maneuver around. simple to get from point a to b.

if you do my time dining, book reservations before you go or else you can not eat when you want.

Every cruise is great you cant go wrong. Enjoy!

  6. was there last week, that info is correct. The waves & surf was so intense we couldn't get out enough to enjoy or swim. The wave was knocking us down and wiping everyone out, filling us with sand and seaweed. We gave up and enjoyed there pool, till it got to busy. Also small beach. we would not go back there. Enjoyed 2 other beaches other years, but don't remember names. One was a public beach.

  7. we just got back last week. we took the trolley tour from inside the gates, $22 per person, about 1 hr. drove around the town etc. with narrative & history. After the tour we walked outside the gates for souvineers you can bargain everything and get great prices.

Always felt safe, never harassed, never offered drugs, lots of police around. Every local was polite and excepted no politely. they will be asking you if you want to check out there booth , take tour etc, just say no and keep walking if not interested. So glad we went outside the gates to experience the real Jamaica.

After that we went back on ship for lunch, then spent the afternoon in the pool at Margarittavile. It was not busy or crowded. it was a nice day.

  8. Couldn't you just show up at 6? I have reserved times some nights and just shown up others and I have not had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. They only take a certain number of reservations for specific times to accommodate the walk ins.

I asked that, They told us if we showed up at 5:30 or 6:00 there would be no seats because it was a full ship (they all are) and everything was reserved, and that the only way we could eat early was to switch to regular dining at early seating, which we did. But could not have a table for 2 it would be the same 6 people every night. No one else ever showed up to our table for 6.

I told them we signed up for my time dining, but technically it did not exist for us, they really didn't care. Had a great cruise just the same.

  9. You said short and inexpensive, even though Princess is an extra day, I would choose #1 because, you can experience a line you haven't been on, be on a brand new boat, and you will spend less money overall, still getting a short getaway to remember.

We did go on Caribbean Princess last year for our anniversary and had a great time on it. Nice ship, no complaints. I am sure MSC would be equally as nice.

Happy Anniversary, enjoy what ever decision you make.

  10. We were on Silhouette & did not heed the warnings. Figured, "We're from NY...we're street smart...we can handle this..." OMG...NEVER AGAIN. Enough said.

Could you please elaborate with details on what happened outside the gate to make you feel this way? I have read many reviews where people felt fine walking outside the gate. We plan to take the 1 hr trolley ride from inside the terminal to around town. I hate to go into a new port and not explore there town area, but at the same time want to be safe at all times. We had considered walking into town after the trolley tour, so would love details on what is really going on.

    Thank you.
