This doesn't surprise me. I have a cruise friend that has done the Atlantis cruises and he's told me they get pretty wild. It's amazing to me how many drugs make it onto the ship. Not saying that's what happened here, but he certainly didn't just fall.

I was in 16019 in November. Great location. Near the exit to the elevators (but very quiet) and on the same deck as the concierge and the TSL. Very convenient.

Yikes....did you guys see the fender bender with Carnival Glory in Cozumel?? That's gonna take some buffing!
Wow, that is some serious damage! And Glory started drifting towards RCL Oasis!! There has to be some sort of propulsion issue. If you watch the video posted, it looks like Glory is barely under control.

Another Clevelander! Woohoo! The Old Brooklyn HH is closed for the winter, the Parma location is open on weekends. You can still get your fix! 🙂
Finally caught up with this thread! Phew!
I just drove by HH last night and saw that Parma is still open on weekends. May have to venture...

My Friday night is looking exciting. It's Gizzie's "Gotcha Day". She's 13, I adopted her when she was 2 and she's gotten me through some pretty low times. She's the leader of my fur family and is the quirkiest dog EVER, but we love her. We're going to the pet store so she can get a new toy and then to Honey Hut (her favorite..well, maybe mine) for ice cream in the 30 degree weather. I know you're all jealous. haha!
So, other than a couple of posts on Sid's latest review, I've been a lurker. In my defense, I've been trying to read the whole thread before posting. But...HONEY HUT!!!! Old Brooklyn? Amazes me how late in the year they stay open. My boy toy (well, he's only 4 years younger, but still) lives right down the street and we've been known to bundle up and head there for ice cream.
And Sid, I bet there are other lurkers, or people just finding this thread from your last review. I enjoy reading about the entire tribe's everyday lives. And of course, I'm always up for pictures of your meat:) Don't even thing about stopping!

Well, I made it back on board from my adventure into San Juan... This is a good thing, because at one point, I thought that some locals had drugged us, and were going to harvest our organs... But, back to the beginning... We arrived earlier than expected, and were off the ship and into old San Juan within minutes... We wandered the beautiful streets, which are paved with bricks that look centuries old...
Hey Sid, long time lurker here. Love your reviews!
So, these are really old. These came over as ballast in the ships many, many moons ago. Don't ask me why I have such a strange piece of info in my head.

Does anyone know if this is done on the Meraviglia as well?
Thanks!
Yes, it is. At least it was when I was on 2 weeks ago.

Just got off the phone with MSC...
11/17 Meraviglia 4 day is going to Cozumel with 2 sea days for the 4 night. No more Nassau.
11/23 Seaside 7 day is doing a direct swap of Ocean Cay for Nassau with no other changes.
They are finalizing compensation plans for these and hope to have them out by end of business today.
Since I'm on 11/17, that's good to know. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for this. Didn't even thing about the internet package I purchased. Hey, $7 is $7!

Hello,
we booked the 3-night cruise from the 21. of Nov :(. Our original plan was Miami-Nassau-Ocean Cay-Miami. Do you know, which will be the replacement port? I hope it won´t be a sea day.
Did i understand correctly, that the compensation is 100 USD Value on the boat and 20 % discount on the amount you paid for the trip? Or do we get a 20% discount for the next trip we book at MSC?
Thank you!
I'm on the sailing right before yours. I assume we'll just have a sea day. And we haven't been advised we will receive any compensation at all. Since they've given us advance warning, I presume not. I love sea days, so I'm not at all unhappy.

I'm on Mera 11/17. Haven't received notification of cancelled port stop yet. It's a short cruise, so if they want to add another sea day, I'm okay with that. More time to explore the ship. And it saves me from spending the money on a cabana. Would be nice to be compensated some way, but truly I don't expect it and won't be angry if they don't.

On my way to a cruise all my clothes are inside a few massive Ziplock "Stand and Fill Big Bags" inside the suitcase... during the cruise I use one of those bags to store dirty laundry and at the end of the cruise my still damp and salty scuba gear goes in those bags.
I learned the hard way when on a rainy boarding day I ended up with a case full of damp clothes. 😞
Same here. All my clothes are in the compression bags. Keeps them dry and keeps TSA from pawing my clothes😉 Never thought to waterproof the luggage. Not a bad idea.

Interestingly, I will be there on 11/20 and my planner has YC cabanas listed for sale. So if the YC area isn't done, why are thy selling them?
-
That sounds ideal to me😃
I was booked in an Aurea suite because all the YC1s disappeared for some reason while I was dithering about booking. They showed up again this past Friday. I managed to snag one before they disappeared, while I was on the phone changing! And the very next day I got an email to bid for an upgrade to the Royal Suite. Looks like they took them out of circulation to try to upsell them. In any case, I'm worried that starting out on MSC in YC will spoil me...I'm looking forward to it though.

I definitely will. I think you're in YC, yes? I am as well so I'll definitely be following your posts.

Thanks so much Beamafar!

I'm giving MSC a test run, a short cruise on Meraviglia in November. Looking for some feedback on WiFi. They have 2g and 4 g packages available. As it's only 4 nights, I'm thinking 2 should be enough. I'm not going to use it for much more than checking email, and maybe headline news. No streaming or anything like that.
Thoughts? Do you thing 2 will be sufficient?
Thanks in advance!

Just want to add my thoughts and prayers. I cannot imagine what you're going through. Makes me feel foolish for complaining about having a cast put on for a broken pinky finger.
Stay strong and know that so many are praying for you.

Loving your review. Stunning photography! I did the Glacier Hike excursion with a different cruise line. It was one of the best excursion I've ever done. We were fortunate; it was sunny and 70 when we went. We were shedding layers. Even the guides were snapping pictures like crazy.

I was Star Class on Allure in November and the Genie brought a porter to our cabin to pick up our luggage in the morning. Escorted us and our luggage to customs.
