Tell me what type of musical entertainment can we expect on the ship? Doing the Nov 12, 2017 Panama Canal sailing. We've mainly done Carnival. As 70+ we'd love some mellow music mixed in with jazz and oldies but goodies and Island music. Tell us what you've experienced.

I had the same question about the best day to book dinner on Panama Canal cruise. Is the first sea day the more elegant dinner night in the MDR ? Any other night will work. Thanks for the input about Canal day. I had thought about doing that day, too.

UPDATE: I found out where to remove the cookies on Chrome, so now all is back to normal. Thanks, again.

Thanks everyone. I deleted history and cookies. Now working laptop with Windows 10 on IE, It still is not working on Chrome. I just get a plain white page. This is fine, I'll just use IE when I want to come here.

We're going on Coral Panama Canal in mid-Nov. So as not to have too much humidity would doing UBD between Aruba and Cartagena be less humid than later in the itinerary? Or will that really matter ? Colon is our only late departure (8:00) so we will beat sea with all other choices.

Thank you all for your responses. I did find the section on Manage Your Cruise, then Plan Your Voyage, Onboard Reservations, Culinary Delights which will allow me to make a reservation and even choose the date I want it 'delivered.' I had not visited that section before.

Oh good, thanks. The YouTube I watched about it made it look fantastic. I plan to surprise my husband with it.

Thanks for the review. Is On The Bayou still being performed as a show or might that only be on the Panama Canal cruises, which we are taking on Nov. 11, 2017 ? Enjoyed your comments.

Do you suggest making reservations for dinner in advance of boarding. We are sailing on Nov.11 and I wonder if I should do reservations for both specialty restaurants before hand, or am I safe just waiting until we are actually onboard?

Can anyone tell me the 'formal nights,' on the 10 day Panama cruise so I don't make reservations for those nights?

Doing the Panama Canal 10 day in Nov. 2017. on the Coral Princess. First Princess cruise for us. I know production shows don't change very often. What are the shows now and will they likely be the ones still playing in Nov.?

Will we find some venues that feature some jazz and easy listening smooth music some evenings ? Looking forward to a new line. Thanks for your responses.

I do not use any salt at home when cooking so we are sensitive to salt in foods. We were on the Epic but did not seem to have an issue with excessive saltiness. My husband usually asked that his food be prepared with no salt or he asked which choices were the lowest in sodium.

As I said last night , I was going to expand your signature so I could enjoy your other reviews. So, I hit EXPAND. Immediately I said, "OH, WOW, Willdra was on the same ships we were on!" Even though our next two booked cruises are on Princess, I find the Carnival reviews are much more fun to read. I'm so happy I decided to check this out tonight.

We, too have 6 Carnival cruises under our belt. We recently cruised with family members on NCL. I was prepared not to like it because I'm so used to Carnival. We did enjoy it, so it's worth a try. We are booked on a Princess cruise later this year. We did cruise RCL once which was ok, too.

Thank you for the review. We're taking this cruise Nov. 2017 as our first Princess and first Panama Canal. It's nice reading that older, less mobile passengers are not uncommon. We will both be using scooters. I appreciate all of your 'age related,' comments.

Where did you live? I'm in medina, about halfway between Rochester and Buffalo

We were in Schenectady. Not quite in the snow belt you live in. I imagine that's one reason why you cruise ! :D

Wow, those photos are amazing. So, you were able to see all of that from your balcony ? We are going to book a Panama cruise within the next week or so. I know we would need to be able to sit to watch and retreat to cool air, too so I'm glad you mentioned not trying to fight the crowd and the heat by being out on deck.

Looking forward to the rest of the review. We used to live in upstate NY near several locks of the Erie Canal. We would often take our children to watch boats go through those locks. Of course, we had to sing about, "the ol' mule named Sal." LOL No comparison to the Panama !

I was 73 and loved it. My younger companions were only in their 60's. Does that help ? We had a ball.
