  1. No way. We just sailed via Miami and even though they told us to be in line at 7am, we waited due to 'delays' for about half an hour. We finally got outside about 7:40am and we were in the luggage carry off line. Line was very, very long behind us. To answer your question, maybe 10am at the very earliest. You would have to carry off your own luggage and grab a cab (not a shuttle, not an Uber) as soon as you get outside.
  2. We got notified 2 days prior to departure. We didn't get any of our D+ stuff, amenities, invites, etc, so went to LA to request. We also got the other person's 'stuff' who must have also been upgraded. She was getting birthday gifts and I tried to tell them I wasn't her but it did not work. Delivery person took the stuff back and was redelivered later 🙄 They seemed to be having this problem with a lot of cabins. Must have been a lot of last minute upgrades. That was probably the biggest negative about Royal Up.
  3. Definitely lose the formal wear. On formal night I was wearing a golf shirt from Chico's and black Nike pants and someone told me I looked fancy and where was I going. People wore anything on formal night. I was on the more dressy end of the spectrum.
  4. We used wifi calling on a recent Explorer cruise. We had surf + stream and the calls were fine although not as good as calling on land. The surf + stream was the upgraded internet afaik. We used a D+ coupon and for one day it was $7 extra. Make sure she has wifi calling enabled on her phone. I know she's probably back by now but I didn't even know you could do this until someone told us onboard.
  5. Royal Loft Suite 61k for two at the height of hurricane season in October. What could go wrong.
  6. No, they are reasonable requests. If they could not be fulfilled, a short explanation should suffice. Concierges are extremely variable. Usually, we have had very good experiences where they at least try, and we always tip for the service. Last cruise I asked two questions and both times, 'try guest services'. No tip.
  7. We were at a show and next to us was one of those VIP reserved tables with a guy and his wife. We were watching it and all of a sudden he says, really loudly, "what the *&^ is this??" Extra entertainment for us lol.
  8. Horseshoe Bay and walk to the left until it's secluded enough for you.
  9. Bermuda ByWays Tours. On fb but not allowed to link. bermudabyways@gmail.com
  10. Not sure why you are being argumentative. Lots of people travel on closed loop cruises and don't bring a passport. Not everyone wants to spend the money on a passport if they actually don't need one. And not sure why anyone checking you in would 'look at you funny': a passport is either required or not. Passports are valid for 10 years so not sure why you have trauma every few years. I thought you answered the question in a helpful manner. Not sure why some posters are going on about their preference of having a passport. Travlndiva started the OT discussion when mentioning their TA gave wrong advice. I also thought it was weird that travlndiva said she didn't care that her TA was wrong or not. 🤯 Travlndiva, I'd rather have njhorseman giving me advice as he is a helpful poster and knows more than your TA.
  11. Mailed 2 passports April 20. Still "in process" as of May 4. Did not pay for expedited delivery. Philadelphia processing location. We had photos taken at CVS. They are usually good but this time they gave my son a photo that had a big black bar running throught the background. I sent him back to redo and the guy insisted there was nothing in the rules about it but he grudgingly retook the photo.
