  1. While I guess technically it wasn't actually a "production" show, the most entertaining entertainment I've experienced was when the cast from Hairspray did a "Favorite" Broadway/West End song show. We luckily saw this listed in the Cruise Compass. We actually saw this event on two different sailings. One was in the Jazz Club, and the other was in the Music Hall. Our first, and favorite was in the small, intimate Jazz Club. A few cast members were in there, and one played a keyboard. They asked for requests from the audience of their favorite songs, looked them up on an iPad, and one of more of the cast members sang. Such talented individuals. You could see they loved the music, and they were having such a great time. There were also a number of the Cruise Director's entertainment team there, enjoying the show with the rest of us. After that, we've looked every time we've been on an Oasis Class ship, but only saw it listed tow other times. Once was a conflict with something else, and the other was in the Music Hall.

If you ever see this listed in the daily activities, try not to miss it.

    Thanks for the post.

From my experience the Mirroring capabilities were build around Android Devices and don't play well with Apple.    I've had a hard time mirroring using my iPhone and iPad but I have a Androoid Phone and it seems to work ok.

When on Apex they have a menu item on the main screen to Stream.    Instead of all the button pushing you just select the item and it has instructions to connect.     I was surprise to see that on Edge the option wasn't there.

No, Thank you for your previous post on this. That is where I got the remote instructions. I was a little unsure, but when I saw how easy it was, I decided to do this post,

  3. Just on for a 9 night cruise. Chose Select, as 6 seem too early, and 8:30 too late. Wa sable to pre-select 7:00 for 7 of the nights, and 6:30 for the others.
However, we felt very rushed through dinner the first night. As we were finishing or salads, they already had the next course in hand, ready to serve. Our dinner was less than 45 minutes. Nice it you don’t want to spend hours at dinner, but we just felt rushed.

using the app, we were able to look at the next evenings menu, and decided to try the Oceanview. We had a nice experience, although we had to get our own food. We sat outside at the back of the ship, and watched the sunset. Enjoyed it so much, we ended up going every night. Never got charged for a no show.

The menus don’t change very much. They had a different theme, and only a few items followed the theme. So not for everyone. But we had great weather each night, and were very happy. By the way, we sat next to the captain or the entertainment staff or cruise director every night.

  4. Thanks to others that have posted how to connect their Roku.
I wanted to add pictures of the menus, as there is other functionality.

I brought a fire tablet, and it doesn’t allow for a direct USB connection, so I didn’t test that option, but included the screen picture for others to try.

    The mirroring was very easy.

To use the Roku Stick, I plugged it into an available HDMI port (I used HDMI2) and the one USB port, for power, on the back of the TV. I had the premium WiFi package, and had already created an account.  I had to use my iPhone to complete the login, through the Roku Settings menu, and it kicked off my previously signed in device.

On the remote, press the CC button,

    IMG_0003.thumb.jpeg.7b4f760faced2030a570dce16d1f463f.jpeg

    you’ll see this screen.

    IMG_9993.thumb.jpeg.8177c79a72ac300ab4f6503f0c54a390.jpeg

then press the Menu Button on the remote,

    you’ll see this screen

    IMG_9994.thumb.jpeg.11657a9877eb44beb439b62f4f35a704.jpeg

    scroll down to support,

    you’ll see this screen

    IMG_9996.thumb.jpeg.9b04a30cbd66547212cd8ff5fb7e3715.jpeg

as my tablet wouldn’t directly connect via its USB port I didn’t try the Media Play Option.

    scroll down to source list,

    IMG_9995.thumb.jpeg.5f164dd2ea0b773ff1a7ff1ffd4db1ab.jpeg

You’ll see this screen. Note what item is checked, as you’ll later want to select this to go back to how the TV was originally set.

    IMG_9998.thumb.jpeg.852aa9c0a214dd58e80eba779a6af416.jpeg

and you can choose mirror (more info below), or Bluetooth Music (to play music to the TV), or HDMI as the source to view your Roku, or other streaming device.

    if you choose mirror,

    you’ll see this screen

    IMG_9999.thumb.jpeg.e2aa76d67b2a3c50e5cbacdd52fc1efa.jpeg

This is what showed on my tablet.

    IMG_0001.thumb.jpeg.b0f26ecbd4674ccf08a1b0e69a1cac0e.jpeg

and when I selected the Samsung TV on my tablet, it mirrored my tablet to the TV,

    IMG_0002.thumb.jpeg.bf8361d68bcd2d3fed1106a5cf430706.jpeg

and I was able to watch files downloaded on my tablet on the TV.

    when done repeat

On the remote, press the CC button,

    then Menu Button,

    scroll down to support,

    scroll down to source list,

and I selected the first item, as that was my original source, as noted above.

    I hope this helps others.

I’m actually saving a link to this post, for myself, for future Celebrity cruises.

  5. `If you have time before the cruise, last August, we did the Prince of Whales tour, in Vancouver, and we saw a lot of whales. We were lucky, as a baby seemed to want to just hang around our ship, so others stayed right near the boat. The captain had to cut the engines for a while while we just drifted in the middle, until he was sure they had left the area. Many other boats flocked to our area, as we waited. Here is a link to the included pictures they sent us after the trip.

  6. Just received an Itinerary change for the Jan 7th, 2024 Wonder of the Seas Cruise.

To assist in the refueling process, now visiting San Juan instead of St Thomas, and all port dates changed.

Coco Cay was changed from Jan 8th to Jan 13th. Not sure if any other ships are scheduled for these days. Looked at a couple of web sites that shows who's in port, but they had conflicting information.

Good news, if you were in Coco Cay with us on the 8th.

Bad news, for both of us, if your there on the 13th.

  7. My DW also loves French Martini's. Most of the bars do not have it. On the Oasis class, we have found it on the Rising Tide bar, the Pub Bar, and Boleros. But even there, sometimes they substitute Cassis. The bartenders say it's the same thing, but it's Black Currant, not Raspberry, and she can tell right away if it has been used. We've never found it at the pool bars.

  8. OMG, I tried 5 or 6 times. Then I capitalized all the answers, I had used previously, (I had used both "four" and "4" for the last answer) and I finally succeeded.

I had cut and pasted the words from the article, where seafarers, chromosome, and maritime, were lower case.

If that is the case, to what does the “Dec. 31,2022 or 1 year after original sail date whichever is later” refer?
    thanks

This policy has been in place for some time, thus the wording seems out of date now.

Once we passed Dec 31, 2021, the 1 year after original sail date now applies.

We just cancelled a March 13, 2022 cruise, and had to apply to a cruise sailing before March , 2023.

Our TA said if we weren't sure where we wanted to apply the FCC, we could book a Sept 2022 cruise before March 31, 2022. Then we could still be eligible to cancel later, and would be able to apply it to a cruise sailing up to Sept 2023

Unless they update the policy, Sept 30, 2023 would be the latest that you could extend a CWC FCC, as long as it is booked before March 31, 2022.

Sounded way to confusing to us. Luckily we found a Feb 2023 B2B  cruise we liked, so we could apply the whole FCC.

  11. Did anyone save a pdf of Celebrity's "Health and Safety" page, specifically the Safe Passage Home paragraph, prior to yesterday's addition of "Due to an increasing number of COVID-19 cases, private air transfers will only be provided in medically necessary situations." ?

    The new paragraph reads:

    Safe Passage Home

We’re with you every step of the way no matter where in the world you travel with us. If you test positive for COVID-19 onboard during your cruise, Celebrity Cruises will cover the cost of your onboard COVID-19 medical treatment, land-based isolation, and private air transfer home for you and your traveling party, if required*. Due to an increasing number of COVID-19 cases, private air transfers will only be provided in medically necessary situations. We will assist guests with commercial flights home once their quarantine period has been completed either shipboard and/or shoreside.

  12. Don't forget about this paragraph in the current "Celebrity cruises refund * and cancellation policy for COVID-19", under Denial of Embarkation or Reboarding; Quarantine and /or Disembarkation

    • If a guest who purchased flights through the cruise line is denied boarding at embarkation or reboarding, or is disembarked during the voyage due to a positive COVID -19 test or being suspected of having COVID-19, Celebrity will coordinate the travel arrangements, and cover the airline change fees and any difference in the airfare for the same class of service , necessary to fly the guest back to the city of their original flight departure point. If such a guest did not purchase flights through Celebrity, Celebrity will assist with coordinating travel arrangements necessary to get the guest back home but will not be responsible for any associated costs.
