YES!  We had a problem applying all of our gift cards last month on the Splendor.  In the end, they accepted all of them but I was told it used to be a $2000 limit but they have changed it to $1000.  They had to e-mail corporate for approval and we had to come back the next day.  It could also depend on who you get because the Officer behind the desk the following day wasn’t phased but the others seemed worried about taking too many. 

This was definitely a new one for us!

We sailed on the Premier in August on the Splendor.  Our host did a great job making us feel special and treated us to a few nice things but we did notice a change in the program.  The Snowball drawings that were specifically for the Premier players was gone.  No drawing at the cocktail party to start things off.  We did have Fireball a few times but that's open to all players.  

Overall, we had a good time and received nice bounce back offers but we spent a lot of time in the casino and spent way more money than usual.  Our last Premier was really fun with all of the drawings and they had refreshments set-up in the casino.  This Premier was kinda boring and the casino was packed.  The cruise cash was nice to have... it made our cruise free but in the end, our cruise was far from free.  Will we do it again?  I don't know.  Our next cruise will hopefully be a non Premier.

Very sad to hear this.  We are on the upcoming Premier on the Spendor.  We had a lot of fun on our last Premier on the Miracle (2017) so that’s why I was excited to be able to sail on this one.  We took a Premier on Princess last year and it wasn’t much fun so I was really hoping this was going to be better.  The crowds are crazy though and It’s hard to get on a good machine.  

The drinks are only provided while playing in the casino.  You won’t be able to get drinks at the bar, even if the casino is open.

We have used the AMEX offer on NCL twice so it’s possible.  I haven’t seen RCCL though.  We have used the Princess offer to purchase OBC only but this new Carnival offer seems to have more restrictions.  Would still love to hear back from anyone that has tried.

Has anybody had any luck using this offer to purchase cruise cash?  I saw a few earlier comments from people doing so but I don't remember them coming back to say if it was a success or not.  Our cruise is in 2 weeks so I would love to take advantage of the offer instead of purchasing more AARP gift cards.

Please share your experience if you used this offer on something besides a regular payment.

I asked this same question a few weeks ago and it was suggested that we wait until we board.  Actually, I think it was Astro Flyer and Idahospud that helped guide me so THANK YOU!

We just got off of the Caribbean Princess on Saturday for 7 days and I was so glad we waited.  Original price on-line was $59.99 and then it had gone up to $69.99.  They also added a 4 device plan for $14.99 a day for about $104.

Signed in first day and my offer was $35 for one device or $70 for the 4 device plan.  I had to give up my free minutes but that was fine.  We only ended up using 3 devices because DH was being stubborn but our 20 somethings loved having fast and unlimited internet.

Thank you for your thoughts.  All ships and cruise lines have their pluses and minuses.  We’ll be on the Caribbean Princess next week and then on the Carnival Splendor in August.  We’ll enjoy both ships.

Thank you both for answering my question.  Seeing the screen details and flyer really helps.  It seems like we should wait and purchase on board.

ehogan..... the Elite minutes are alive and well, if that’s all you want.  We sailed on the Royal in March and it was really fast and we managed just fine with the free minutes.  This trip on the CB, we’ll be sailing with our internet sucking kids so I’m just trying to figure out which plan is better and compare costs.  It would be great if they could just share but easier said than done!

I have a question about the Caribbean Princess internet.  As soon as the ship sailed on the 14th, Princess raised the on-line 7 day package from $59.99 to $69.99 but they also added the 4 device plan as well for $104 or something like that.  We are a family of 4 so we’ll probably go with the 4 device plan (although DH wants to make the kids detox LOL!) but we should have the Elite discount so I was curious about how much they are charging Elite’s for the 4 device plan on board.  Everybody keeps saying it’s cheaper to buy on board and get our discount on the first day but I also get nervous about surprises that could raise prices if we don’t buy the “discounted on-line rates” in advance.  I just wish they had Elite on-line rates so there wouldn’t be a question.

I’m happy to hear that you finally were able to print your luggage tags.  We are still waiting for our cabins to be paid.

We just got off of the Royal Princess a few weeks ago and my husband and I both received bounce back offers from the casino before we left.  They were left under our door but fairly close to departure time.  Unfortunately, we won’t be able to use the offers because we have other cruises booked already and no more vacation time but it’s nice to be asked.

As Crystal04 said... the OBC should be in the purchased section of the Travel Summary.  Ours is listed above our bottled water.

I hope CalLuvsCruisingTo has been sorted out by now.  Printing those luggage tags are a highlight for me!  LOL!

Yes.  We paid the $100 deposit pp but it's on our account as OBC.  That's their way of getting something if we don't show-up.  I'm OK with the OBC because we'll spend it... probably in the casino LOL!  Our last certificate had the same wording but we were not charged.  Our current rep told me that their computer systems and/or agents couldn't figure out how to post it so many of the agents just skipped it.  Supposedly, they fixed that glitch last October so now it's done this way.

I'm having this same problem.  Our cruise is not as close as yours but I'd like to get everything in order and print our documents.  I've called as well and I was told the Casino just takes their time.  Maybe because it's Tax Season and they are working on win/loss statements instead?  Please come back and let us know when your cruise gets finalized.  Crossing my fingers!

I was on the Dawn last week. I had brought some reusable straws for my frozen drinks but didn't actually use them. Since the straws have been eliminated, they now blend the frozen drinks until they are watery so straws aren't necessary. The drinks don't taste as good this way but they are drinkable.

Does the water package on board cost the same as buying it on-line? We drink the tap water and bottled water and I'd rather use OBC if the prices are the same.

Our letter is very similar but our times are slightly different. We leave Cuba at noon the second day instead of 3:00 PM. That's unfortunate. Instead, we arrive at Great Stirrup Cay an hour earlier - 8:00 AM. There must be a reason we have to leave Cuba earlier. Maybe another ship takes our place? Either way, I'm excited. We booked this trip to celebrate our son's 21st B-Day. We've been to the Bahamas before so this will be a better 21st B-Day celebration.

We received the same e-mail but our sailing on the SKY is July 24th and the e-mail includes many dates not on this list. It seems like they changed most of the 4 day sailings to this itinerary. SWEET!

Hi,

We just got off of the Crown on Saturday and we also sailed her last year. I can tell you that 18 year olds are indeed welcome in the club until it closes around 1:30 AM. Our kids spent every night in the club and our son is 19. They check for ID after 10:00 PM but it wasn't a problem. They had a great time in there with all of their new friends.

The Crown also had an advertised Meet and Greet for the 18-20's group on both sailings (1st night last year and 2nd night this year) and I suggest your son participate and show up 5 minutes early or exactly on time. The ship does provide a representative to get things going but they only stay a few minutes, once introductions have been made. The crew offered the group a contact person in case they wanted to reserve an area for a group event but it was never needed. Our kids are somewhat shy, our DD in particular, so having this brief gathering has been wonderful for them. So many people cruise with large groups and are busy often with family events so it's sometimes hard to find the kids that are actually looking for new friends versus making them along the way. Having friends from the start enhances their experience IMHO.
