  1. The equate brand of sunscreen ranks high in Consumer Reports. I think it may have specifically listed the spf30 sport lotion, but it’s been a year or two since I read that.

You are absolutely correct. Seems like I was buying the wrong sunscreen because of the name and the word babies. Couple of years I decided to research the best ones by consumer reports and many other reports. This June's cruise I am bringing for the three grandchildren...

Pure sun defense (50) Frozen, other characters the same! And the stick for kids Equate which is Walmarts brand. I love the stick as it is easy for my use and there's as well. Both of these had good ratings.

  2. I am currently booked on the Royal Princess 4/9th sailing.

Hubby and I are thinking maybe we could pull off booking March 30th as the front end of the b2b. We already have stock obc applied for the 4/9th. Since our proof of ownership is not an issue, Is there a number to phone and ask for the credit be applied to the March 30th?

    Thank you.

  3. Thank you.

I'm sensing your post is sarcastic.

I'm not sure why. I (and I presume anyone can) find a better deal on the princess web site

than what was offered in the stop, drop and roll email.

Oh my congratulations is a genuine one and was not sarcastic at all, just typed terse. No I am happy for anyone that finds or catches a deal. I was just pondering how I am missed on emails. We are good customers. My gosh we did the 94 day world cruise in 2015 and had 2018 booked when my husband had to have his kidney removed one month b4 date. Like I said we have 3 booked now and came off the regal in March. Hubby is getting his feet wet again!

  4. I get the all drop'n'go email all the time, including a few days ago.

The recent email hyped 7 day caribbean cruises from $499.

Quite a deal, as I had found $399 on my own.

    (posted a could posts back)

I think it's like princess "sales" ... meaningless hype.

Congratulations... I currently have 3 cruises booked, cruised last month, and Inhave received 0 emails. I reregistered.

  5. I currently have a promotion that has $200 obc and dinner for two at a specialty restaurant. They are now offering free gratuities which is more than the obc (10 night ) but it does not include dinner. The difference is $59.00... which is a wash with the dinner.

The new promo for gratuities does not say new bookings. If I switch do I have to give up the dinner?

    Thanks

  6. Exactly. I couldn't have said it better myself.

I'll never understand the draw of those interior balconies when everybody can see you on your balcony, and even more, probably, at night. I find them creepy.

Well the draw is we live in FL, so the water is not a novelty for us. The boardwalk and Central Park are unique. We try to expose our grandchildren to all types of cabins even the creepy ones.

  7. Wow, I just discovered your post today and downloaded pop slots. I have tried to read all the posts, but sorry if this was asked and answered already. I am not a Facebook user... so I assume I cannot redeem my points. Correct.. I have the app on my iPad and am using as “guest”. I guess with that said if I cannot take advantage, they are fun slots regardless. Thanks for any insight .

  8. wow they wanted my birthday to talk to a supervisor. really. just wow. the fake booking number wasnt enough lol

this is almost funny. and yes i do think they should explain that this isnt a real booking. i wouldnt be here on this thread if i thought it was a courtesy hold.

and i'm ok with the you snooze you lose thing. i'm well aware pricing changes and i had monitored pricing on my other cruise daily to call in about pricing changes etc.

truly if they just would have said "In order to lockin your pricing, I will be forwarding a booking confirmation which acts as acourtesy hold. If you do not wish to book, then just ignore the confirmationand it expires." then all would be well and us uniformed newbies wouldnt assume it's a real booking.

    Drop it already.

  9. Thank you all so much for your analysis it was very helpful. I will look at the itinerary again. I don't think we are in that remote places, rather cities. However, we will weigh the advantage of having medjet for being able to choose our home hospital. Once again thank you. Cindy

  10. We are going on a WC in January and have Princess Insurance. I read that some people have medjet also. Do we need both insurances ? Should we drop Princess and keep medjet? My husband is a non believer with insurance and we have cruised more times than I can keep track of. Fortunately, we have never had an issue. Therefore I have very little insurance knowledge.

Please share why we should or should not have both. Or is medjet the way to go? Thank you. Cindy

  11. We have Princess insurance on a cruise we are taking in January. To be honest, we usually do not buy insurance (husband not a believer). It is a WC. The question I have is I have read that so people by medject insurance. Should we have it in addition? Do you need both, why?It seemed like Princess protection covered evacuations. Should I only get medjet? Is medjet like princess care only better ? Please any insight would be so appreciated.Cindy

  12. The best prices will be much better in the fall for sure. Sometimes not having the kids club completely packed out is a good thing. There is always plenty to do.

Not sure if this is your first trip without the parents, but be sure to get a notarized letter signed by both parents giving you permission to take them on a cruise and make all medical decisions for them.

Some on these boards will say it is not necessary because no one will ask for it. But I can tell you from personal experience I have been asked for it three times, not only by the cruise line but also Customs.

    Have a wonderful cruise!!!

Totally agree. We just got off the May 21st cruise on Oasis. We had grandkids 8 and 13. Tons of kids. And they asked for the letter at check in and at Adventure Ocean for the younger one.

  13. We are also taking our grandchildren on a cruise....the Oasis next Sunday. They have cruised with us since the age of 3 and have a lot of experience. However, the day has finally the come... one is 13 and the other 8. My husband and I have discussed in detail the "rules" and behavior we expect from the 13 yr old whom we will give some "freedom "to. The 8 year old will not leave our side except to go to Adventure Ocean.

We will discuss with the 13 yr old about not going into other cabins and no one in ours, checking in every few hours... we bought her a watch and a sign in and out board. Any bad behavior that starts with her new friends she has made, she is to leave immediately. There have been tons of suggestions from others on this board to help us.

These children are your responsibility and you should set the rules upfront and talk to your grandchild so there is no "misunderstanding". What will the ship do?.... if they do something really dumb ,escort you off at the next stop.

    Happy cruising...

  14. My husband and I did the World Cruise in 2015 on the Pacific Princess. While not new to cruising, our head was splitting with questions and what ifs etc. we read the blogs that other people have recommended and got a wealth of information for how to handle land issues as well as at sea how to make your cabin a tight little home.

Have a fabulous trip . We are hoping to do it again and are watching itineraries.

  15. If the stateroom is the same exact category, you can move without paying any difference. However, I'm a bit confused that the two staterooms would be different colors on the deck plan if they are both the same category.

I know what you are saying. I actually just looked again and today they have the instant savings back. So the price is within $1.00. They are offering one cabin on deck 4 front of the ship (blue q). When I booked my q it was browns on deck 3. There are tons of cabins available for this sailing that I see on another site. Seems like there is some game playing going on. I am not at final payment yet, so I think I will keep watch and see what happens.

  16. I booked a cruise the 4 day cruise to Cuba in July. I chose a q category (brown) and picked my room from the what was available on deck 3. Yesterday they had a "q" on deck 4 (blue) for more than what I paid due to the instant $26.00 off. Can I move to any room that is listed as a q even if it is selling for more money?
