Good question - I'm on HAL quite a bit but never on Oosterdam. If ever, id get one for you.

Id get a "day" room at a hotel.

My friend Betty did all the "leg" work on the bus info.

The airport bus stop #8 stops several blocks from the hotel $10.00 but you need coins easily obtainable at airport.

Any suggestions?

I started collecting them when on a Costa cruise ship many years ago - i now try to collect one on each cruise - HAL, NCL, Princess, MCS, etc.

May he rest in peace. I had the pleasure of sailing with him and his wife many years ago. Great story teller with the British accent even tho he was from the US.

I've had them ask for cabin number on all HAL ships when we would have dinner in the Lido - i thought they were just keeping track of where everyone was eating - maybe ? .

Embassy Suites is great - managers happy hour and buffet breakfast. The last time i was there, i noticed while looking out window from hotel, an Out Back restaurant a block or two away. Ive been in other OB's and their product was good.

I understand as I usually travel solo. The last cruise i was on, my cabin stewardess occasionally left me two chocolates in addition to the lovely towel animals.

On Tripit you can forward your confirmations if you like. However, if you have cruises booked in same month for both 2015 and 2016, it doesn't differentiate between the two years and inter mingles the cruises into 2015. The only solution to this is to wait till after the 2015 cruises are done and the days have passed and then forward the new 2016 itinerary. Crazy but it is the only way i know of to fix this problem. Ive used Tripit for several years now and it is great. You can also forward not only cruises but air and hotel reservations.

and the Bahamas was THE place to go, my TA said Ariadne was exotic, but I chose another, but did meet up with some crew members for drinks in Nassau. Nice Greek boys !

this was my very very first cruise ship - it was in the spring of 64.

I remember coming back to Miami port. They put our luggage on the pier and fumigated it. It was a 7 day cruise.

Royal Cruise Line - Greek - offices were in San Francisco - catered mostly to West Coast folks. Great Food, entertainment and itineraries .

Yes, I've flown both directions in concert with booking passage on the QE2. Really nice way to travel . In those days i could never had purchased flights outright.

I was on the Vancouver to Japan last fall and wish I had known in advance that they were going on to HK. I may do the cruise all over again next year and do the RT from the US. Happy hour was great - met lots of great fellow passengers who were "well cruised" - the appetizers were great. Several nights before end of cruise, all of us happy hourers arranged to go to the private dining room (can't remember the name, $20.00 a head) and dined together. Was great fun and I'd do the cruise again in a flash.

I'm booked on the HAL October from Montreal the Ft Laudersale (24 days) including a week in the Caribbean.

I've been on Italian ships before and I found them to be warm and friendly. However, the MSC Poesia crew were very impersonal. Plus I did get the Norwalk virus while on board. I've been on too many cruises to remember, stopped counting a long time ago, and this was the first time for the illness. Maybe the ship was too large for me.

My favorite lines are Princess, Costa and Holland America.

Good for you. Your idea is mine also. However, I too think you should check out Hollland America. They have quite a few cruises of 60 days or more. I bet they could come up with something to suit your taste.

You've probably made down payments on all the cruises but the first one is still probably not due in full yet. Not too late to change. I cruise on MSC this past spring and was very disappointed - I've been on quite a lot of cruises but don't think MSC is my cup of tea.
