  1. I am coming from RCI and Starlink. Does Jubilee have Starlink? Does Jubilee's internet allow me to use chrome remote desktop back to my computer at work? Anyone use a portable router onboard and does it work? Thanks
  2. I am based in Galveston so the main sbip here is Harmony. Let's say I go on 3 cruises this year all on Harmony. 1. Are the shows all the same? Grease and the aqua theater guy spining around in his dress? Will they change the shows around? 2. After going multiple times, does one get bored of the same ship in terms of activities to do?
  3. Any sale on the overwater cabana at coco cay , the ones that go for 3k?
  4. I do that already. Only thing extra I spend is wifi package for my business and kids and bags of 4 dollar popcorn. Lol I do not pay anything extra and feel like the value is not as good as land based cancun trip. Before, yes, I was cruise addict and I thought value was good. Now not so much.
  5. I think after long thought. cruising has gotten out of my price range. Why? Not only has the price gone up even with picking guaranteed interior room, but those gratuities. 7 day cruise, 1000 a person. Add in 126 dollars of gratuities in per person for a week trip. I thought it might be a whole lot cheaper to use my hyatt points, and get all inclusive hyatt ziva for points and no tipping required unless you want too.
  6. I see all these you tube videos of people who went cruising and posting their video online. If I say want to start recording all my cruises so that way, maybe a cruiseline will see me and sponsor me. Can I tax deduct the cruises as a business expense in my effort to get a cruise line to sponsor me?
  7. I paid less to stand in front of Bubba Gump times Square to see the ball drop, restrooms, buffet, and party. Pay 1200 on rising tide bar so you can see the mc countdown on the promenade? Why can't you just wait at the pizza place 20 minutes before for free? I wish I can be rich to afford rising tide bar on new years eve.
  8. Karl you are just the person I want to talk too. I love cruising but cannot afford the tip amounts. Heck, it might become 30 per person per say pretty soon. You did not tip at all. Did you experience any backlash from the crew?
  9. How about downgrading tips. Can you ask CS, that you do not want to give 18 dollars pp per day, instead 10 dollars per person per day?
  10. Oh my gosh, 2 people for 130k? That's more than I make in 2 years. Can 2 people use up all the room in the townhouse?
  11. Question. I do not know anyone on here personally. For someone like me who is not as wealthy as 99 percent of others on this forum, a 725 gratuity is like 1 cruise right there for 1 person. Does anyone know of anyone, who takes off auto grats and tips staff zero. If so, did they go on multiple cruises like this without paying one cent in tips?
  12. How do the crew divide the tips? Is it like a mom and pop restaurant, all tips go into the jar and divide by 5 employees? Does my 18 dollar per day per person go directly to my cabin steward and waiter? Or is it combined all together and divided by 2000 employees? So the people who have the genie give him 1000 dollar tip so he has to put it in the pot to divide with 2000 other crew? If it is all put together, then me not doing autograts and giving 50 cash dollars total will not be even noticeable to the crew. Just, do not know how my stateroom will treat me if he knows what I am doing. But again, I am paying for his services in my cruise total fees.
  13. My debate is this. Lets say I eat in buffet all 7 days and not once go to main dining room. Should should be in the hook for tipping the mdr crew? Maybe give the assistant waiter a 10. I am sure many on here would be glad to tip 20 plus 20 plus 10 for total of 50 rather than 725 dollars. Three of my family were .kids 10 8 8. Why am I having to tip .RCi 18 dollars a day for each one?
  14. Wow, are you saying you declined auto pay gratuity and pay zero tip? I want to do what you do. Do the staff ever treat you differently?
  15. I would just give a 20 dollar tip for all 3 of us for the stateroom, I would give a 20 dollar tip to head waiter for all 6 of us in the dining room. Would I be put on some, "watch out for this guy list?"
  16. When you say many, do you mean 10%, 50 percent?
  17. Just got off Harmony of the Seas and for 6 people interior, total around 725 in gratuities. To me that sounds ridiculous. What would happen if I do not autopsy gratuity but just give the MDR guy a 20 and the stateroom guy a 20 qt the end of the cruise. Would I be flagged in their computer for the next trip?
  18. Ok, I am glad everyone opened my eyes to this topic and think of it in a practical manner. I am glad these forums exist to give me practical and realistic opinions.
  19. This has opened my eyes. If I go for diamond, spend all that time taking weekend cruises then to have a new announcement , "sorry buddy, crown lounge is only for pinnacle and suites only". I would be totally devastated. Do you think that can ever be a possibilty?
  20. I like your opinion. But what do you think of all the youtubers and posters on here who think diamond gives so many good benefits. Did you see any wonderful benefits? You did not like the lounge?
  21. I have a list of bucket list items in travel. Once I went on 2 cruises this year and walked by the lounges, I started to think, what would it take to to get in there. Other than getting a suite, which is outrageously expensive, is to go on a lot of cruises. So then, I put it on my bucket list of dreams.
  22. The reason I want to do 4 nights is because I own my own business and I do not feel comfortable staying away for so long at a time. I will be working on the ship all days I am on there and have 22 points right now. I was looking at beat cost efficiency of getting to diamond. Of course, once I reach diamond, I am going to dream of getting to pinnacle and have bragging rights on the cruise when they announce all the pinnacles on board. I think of it as a bucket list challenge. The main benefit I like of diamond is getting inside the diamond lounge and feel.special in there.
  23. My dream in life is to get diamond status. My main way of doing it will be doing 4 night cruises out of Galveston multiple times. My debate is 1. do interior room alone and get 2 points per night. 2. do junior suite alone and get 3 points per night. Anyone have experience on which is better way to do it?
  24. I get the summary now. 100 dollars a hand can get me something but it might not get me anything. That is the gamble right there also. I was hoping to put a max of 500 or 1000 loss. Play 50 to 100 dollars a hand and drag out the the time between between hands like my old comp counting days. Cannot imagine sitting there for 4 hours doing comp counting and then at the end, the casino host says I only earn free drinks.
  25. I just realized something too. Cruise lines are getting more and more expensive. I was looking at spring break harmony of the seas and it is 1500 a person. Yikes. Maybe playing to lose a max of 500 and getting free cruise might be worth it.
