  1. I have usually gotten a confirmation email back from the Dispatch Dept within a couple business days. Once they forgot to email me. Let your TA know ASAP you have requested the transfer and they will know to watch for it and then will send you their confirmation as soon as NCL completes the transfer.

Good to know it only takes a couple of days and then up to the travel agency. Thanks so much.

  2. I am new to Norweigan and want to know if I have to make advance reservations prior to sailing for the specialty restaurants. Can I opt to pay with my OBC or do they require payment at the time of booking. If I wait till I am on the ship, will I have problems securing an 8 or 8:30 pm reservation.

    Regards

  3. Hello. I am planning on buying CCL stock soon. My question is when should I contact Princess for the OBC. I have one cruise that is 107 days out, a second cruise in April 2017 and a third cruise in March 2018. Does the credit show up on your cruise personalizer?

Is a copy of a brokerage statement with account number and other holdings blanked out okay? If anyone knows, what is the contact fax number for Princess to send this to?

Thanks for answering all my questions. Want to make sure I get the process straight before I buy. Regards.

  4. I'm looking at deck plans for the Sea Princess and I do not see a cafe international or patisserie. Is there a place for specialty coffees such as lattes? Also, can anyone describe the type of menu at Cafe Corniche? Is it a fee restaurant?

    I appreciate the insights. Regards.

  5. Last year we had two days of great touring with Aki of http://allstarosaka.com/. The first day we used cabs and the bullet train to get to Kyoto. As previously said, the Golden Pavilion is a must see. Just gorgeous.

The second day we went to Osaka and had such a fun day doing so many different things. Lunch was so good too. You can read about and see lots of photos of our tour on our website www.thepreismans.com.

Hello. I read your blog and it was so comprehensive and informative. Based on your blog experiences, I went ahead and booked with all stars osaka. We are really looking forward to our day in Kyoto with them.

    Thanks so much. Joyce

  6. We did the Celebrity Millennium Japan and China cruise last October/Nov and it was wonderful.

We ported in Kobe overnight. Some people did it on their own to Kyoto. We did a tour of Nara and Kyoto pre-cruise from Tokyo, which was wonderful.

In my opinion, you want to take a tour to Kyoto, since you will waste a lot of time trying to find your way in the huge rail station in Kyoto. Then taking public transportation to the individual temples, castles and shrines will eat up more time. Taking taxis will eat up much of any savings you might get from DIY. Also, in taking the train from Kobe to see Hymeji Castle, we got on the wrong train coming back to Kobe. We still made it back to the ship on time, but stuff like that can happen, even with a group of about 12.

We used a tour company in Japan called JTB Sunrise for our pre-cruise tours for Tokyo and three day tour to Kyoto. I don't know if they have tours from Kobe, but check it out.

In my opinion, your number one site to see in Kyoto is the Golden Pavilion. Don't miss it. Warning, it will be crowded.

Here is my review of our trip and cruise.

Thanks so much for the reply. I read your cruise review. It was very helpful and informative. I will check out JTB Sunrise tours. I appreciate the recommendation.

    Regards.

  7. I hope this question has not been posted yet. I bought some shipboard credits with a Canadian exchange rate. If I want to use part of that usd shipboard credit for cash during the cruise, can I apply part of my shipboard credit to the casino and then take it out in cash at the casino teller? I thought I read once they restricted, to a certain dollar limit, how much per day you can use in shipboard credit for the casino.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  8. I am new to using Choice Air. I booked a non-refundable ticket and now see on Choice Air's website a price drop for my January 2016 flights. Will Choice Air refare the ticket or am I out of luck?

    Thanks

  9. We are considering a guarantee 2D balcony on the Silhouette. My question is how obstructed is it? I see from the deck plans that there are life boats on the deck below. Are you able to see over the top of the lifeboats while sitting down on your balcony? I appreciate I won't be able to see the water below but I like a view of the water on the horizon while sitting down.

Any pictures would be fantastic. Thanks so much.

  10. Since you aren't booking a specific cabin and instead a guarantee nobody here would be able to look into their crystal ball to see what cabin you will receive in order to tell you what the obstruction will be. So with that I give you a resounding it depends.

I probably did not word my question clearly enough. If I do not get an upgrade from the BW category, will the obstruction be life boats or metal railings? Thanks for replying.

  11. I have never sailed on the Regal and am considering booking. Its for a BW obstructed balcony guarantee at a sharp price.

My questions are: Is the table on the balcony big enough to have breakfast for 2 plates on it? Can we eat meals here? Is the obstruction the top of life boats or is it metal railings?

Any other considerations for Regal pros and cons would be appreciated. I have sailed all the other classes of Princess ships.

    Thanks so much!
