  1. There weren't a ton of people dressing up in costume, but there were some. You'll see them more if you go to the late-night themed party. I wore a flapper dress on the first formal night, as it was Great Gatsby. My husband wore slacks, dress shirt and tie, and there were several like that, but I'd say even more men were in suits and tuxes. A lot. I had wanted him to wear a bow-tie, but they were expensive and we didn't plan ahead, so I let him off the hook. There were a few other ladies in 20's style, as well as many men in their suits and hats representing the style. Again - you'll see more of them in the late night party, and there were some costume contests and prizes given away. We saw many very formal dresses and suits on the elegant nights, and also a lot of going to church/wedding type of attire. You will not be out of place whichever way you go. Most ppl did dress a little nicer on the elegant nights, but the rest of the week some still dressed really fancy and some dressed in shorts and flip flops. My husband may or may not have been in the latter group. ;p A lot of ppl dressed for White night - I'd say 70% or so wore white. I was Bella experience, so with the regular folks. :)

  2. It was 4pm for us last week. Best muster on any cruise I've been on. We were able to sit in a lounge area inside, and it was super quick. We were there and gone in 10 minutes.

For those who arrived later, they did an announcement for a later time.

  3. I didn't eat the calamari. I took pics of the menu every night, so I'll see how often it cropped up in the MDR. Their fish dishes were excellent - cooked just right - they were my favorites of the food I had. Just off Saturday.

  4. Since I live in a US city where English is NOT the primary language, I am not concerned about some of the postings read here....

I also live in a U.S. city where English is not the primary language, but it is MY primary language. Doesn't bother me a bit, I'm so used to it. When I told dh about ppls concerns and gripes over this, we had a good laugh - he said the same thing "no big deal, I'm used to it".

  5. LOL LOL LOL!! Believe it or not...the guy really said that the oat meal wasn’t hot enough and it really ruined his cruise. I was speechless...and had everything I could do to keep my seat and not fall down in tears of laughter!

Well, oatmeal would REALLY ruin my cruise -big time! As in - I DESPISE the stuff. HATE it!!!!:evilsmile::evilsmile: Well, I guess I won't order the oatmeal. Problem solved. :p

  6. We embark on Saturday for our first MSC cruise on the Seaside. We wanted to get a taste of MSC prior to April 2019, as we have a Med cruise on MSC at that time. I will attempt to let you know what we think of the cruise line when we have completed the Seaside cruise , maybe sooner depending on internet service on the ship. We have the Bella experience , balcony, but did upgrade to the deluxe drink package, so my comments will be reflective of one of the least expensive price points on the ship. Two days and can't wait!!

We'll be leaving on Saturday for our first MSC cruise as well. Looking forward to it.

  7. I don't know, but I wouldn't think they would. I used to use them all the time, but now I just use the ones that roll up and I can just hang it from the hook. The only thing is, I suggest bringing a piece of felt or something soft so it doesn't scrape the top of the door - that happened to me once in a hotel and they didn't notice, but I felt bad and after that made sure the metal rings weren't scraping the paint.

  8. NO. ours was not! She gave me 3 email arguments about Status Match before she would actually go and look.

We basically did all ourselves and so far not a thank you. I need a new one or probably just continue to do my own.

Want to add, all I need to know has been gleaned from these boards!!! Yeah Cruise Critic!

I think that would be a hint that it's time to cut ties, at least for this sailing. I would want a TA who is ready, willing and wanting to help me out with as much as they can even if it means researching because they're not familiar with a product. Otherwise, what is the benefit?

  9. I recommend Cabbage Beach if you want a free beach. It's just down from Atlantis - it's beautiful. The only expense would be getting there (paradise Island) and it's about $6/pp one way.

  10. That looks like fun! DH and I did Amazing Race in Cozumel and I found a tour that's similar and is short time wise so that we could do something else. We will have to keep the Segways in mind.

I just have to mention that my dh and I did the AR in Cozumel as well, and we're also doing the similar scavenger hunt in Nassau. The day we're going, we have until midnight before we leave - so lots and lots of time to do other things.

  11. Maybe this has been brought up recently, I couldn't find info, but is anyone else experiencing problems when trying to do the online checkin?

I have this message pop up every time I try to do the online checkin. "The requested reservation is currently being modified. Please try again at a later time."

I am now only 20 days out from our cruise.

  12. Thank you for your responses. It was as I suspected. I had planned on just getting a car rental at the airport and wanted one with a shuttle, not to the port locations. I've looked up reviews of the port area and they're not good - they have a limited amount of cars, plus they come up more expensive with my search. I have booked Enterprise, but will continue to look and see if any better rates come along - you never know. I'm dropping the car off early the next morning at FLL, so that's where it gets a little more tricky in finding the right company.

  13. I've seen several threads that mention Budget has a shuttle to/from the POM to their port location, but I can't find any info on if they have a shuttle to MIA. Does anyone know? The MIA location is cheaper to rent out of than the port location, and I am wanting to rent a car after we get back to port from the cruise.

  14. I have had this question about the Seaside as well. I too chose the late dining, but that was when they had just the 2 dining options. We don't like to eat early, but the latest dining option now is too late for my liking. I just figured I would have to go to the maître D as soon as we board, hoping to get the middle dining option.
