  1. I called Carnival Thursday and they said Id just have to email the wedding department to let them know that I don't need to use Carnivals photographers. They just said that my photographer cant look like a professional or use a tripod.

Was it the wedding department you spoke to? Did you tell them you were bringing your own, or that you just didn't want theirs?

  2. These look great!! How much did you purchase the template for? I contacted Vanessa, but haven't heard back yet. Do you know if anyone has any that are available for cruises that are able to share?

We are in a rush to get ours done and we need most of the information as yours has.

    Email me at mikeandjennyswedding@yahoo.com.

She took a couple of days to get back to me too- the template was $15 and we spent about $150 more on the paper and materials.

I can't share the template since I promised them I wouldn't, but if Vanessa says its okay I can send it to her and she can sell it to you. Just let me know. :)

  3. I'm so excited to show you all our DIY passport invites for our cruise wedding! They finally went in the mail last weekend, and our guests LOVE them! We bought the template from Vanessa's Destination Weddings (you can find her contact info here: http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/vanessas-diy-destination-wedding-passport-invites-038-rsvp-boarding-passes#axzz2hdPSpurY

We really couldn't be happier with how they turned out. It was a lot of work- all said and done probably 50-60 hours, but we are so proud that we did them ourselves and saved hundreds of dollars too.

We used the template but it was designed for a land based DW. We had to re-do everything for a cruise:

  4. On CCL there is now some kind of waiver you can sign so that you don't have to use their photographer. You're so lucky you're photographer is willing to cruise with you. We looked into using two different professional photogs and they both refused to photograph our wedding because of Carnival's rules.

Is there? I'll have to find out about that! Yes, we're lucky. The guy we are using is trying to get into destination weddings more and we're his second one, so we got a great deal. I'll just review him everywhere to return the favor. Our e-party pics came our good so hopefully the wedding ones will too. :)

  5. When I was married, (on RCI) we were told, that anyone in your group is welcome to take pictures as long as they do not "look like a professional"

Our wedding package included the photographer for x hours but the pictures were an extra fee. We did ask for a 2nd sitting with their photographer (done on the 1st sea day) since our reception was delayed 2 hours. we offered to pay for it but since my parents bought a package they didnt charge for it.

my point is... bottomline if their photographer is included with your package, but the pictures are the extra, you can look at the pictures and just not order any...

Than you don't have to let them know that you have hired an outside source

PS not sure if our photographer was supposed to let us take the proofs off the ship but I was able to go to a local cyber cafe (in St Thomas) and scan the proof sheets, email them to myself, and edit them when I got home..

That's what I'm debating on- whether we should just let the carnival guy take pics. My two concerns are (1) the photographer were bringing May not be able to get the best shots with another person in the way and (2) FH will end up buying some of the expensive pics because he's sentimental like that. :)

  6. The photographer that shot our engagement party loved us so much that he offered to sail with us and do our pics for the entire cruise for a very reasonable price! I booked his cabin, but now I'm not sure what to do about the ship's photographer. Has anyone had success in telling Carnival that you do not want their photographer? I don't want to raise any red flags because I know I am not supposed to bring my own on board, but there's no chance we are paying the outrageous prices they charge.

  7. Just wanted to let y'all know you CAN set up a date to tour the ship before the wedding! I am with Carnival and got my date set up for 10-19-13 SO EXCITED!!

Yep, it's true! We went on ours last month. I am going to request another one in February so I can finalize the decorations we're doing. :)

YAAY! Thank you so much for the pics girl!! Everything looks amazing and you two are a beautful couple!!!

Was your cake special ordered? It doesn't look like the typical one everyone else gets!

Also, the custom cocktails- who did you talk to to arrange that?

I can't wait to see the rest of your review! :)
