  1. You pretty much turn right as you walk out of the terminal and keep taking rights as you get to intersections until you see the beach. Safe to walk as lots of families and cruise pax go there. Sidewalks along the whole way. We'll be there in s couple of weeks again, last there in 2013
Thank you! Got concerned with the travel warning couple of weeks ago

  2. I think elegant night was just that. Other nights were White night, 70s night and Pirate night. Due to the bad weather all the parties took place in the atrium. If the weather is good these should take place out on the pool deck. Bob
    Bob,

    Thanks again!

  3. It was not on formal/elegant night. They decorate the entrance to the Haven Lounge with a Gatsby entryway and the entertainment crew dresses in 1920s outfits and does a dance routine and tries to get the passengers involved. I wore a dark shirt with a white tie and brought spats that didn't fit my feet. It is a lot of fun. It is only for an hour in the lounge after starting in the atrium. The music was a little loud for me but I had fun anyway. Bob
    Bob,

Thank you so much for the information! Was hoping it would've taken place on formal night, oh well. Do you recall which theme nights took place on formal nights?

  4. Anybody knows if this happens in other MSC ships?

As for the experiences, I unfortunately did not know. Booked through an online agency and all I got to choose (as I knew it was, at least in other cruise lines) was the stateroom type. I didnt know that within stateroom types came these experience thing. It was not until I received the confirmation when I saw INTERIOR BELLA and went online to find out what it was. However that fine print is not on the Mexican website, it even says Bella passengers can chose what time they wish to have dinner, doesnt mention a thing about the possibility of having dinner at the buffet.

The fact that they build smaller MDRs knowing that there might be the slightest possibility that passengers might not all fit in is beyond me. I have only done 5 cruises but I haven´t seen that anywhere else. Its a bit ridiculous if you ask me. Why build a +5000 pax ship if you know you won´t be able to accomodate them all for diner? If they wanted to go that way then they should have at least added one more complimentary venue. NCL and RCL have several. Seaside has only either buffet or MDR. or even worse, buffet MDR...

Divina also had the buffet as an mdr in the evening. I had the Fantastica experience so assigned to mdr restaurant. I was surprised to learn that Seaside is doing the same thing, thought newer ship would have enough seats in mdr. I booked the Bella experience for my upcoming cruise on Seaside for financial reasons (going solo so paying double). I'm aware that I may be assigned buffet but hoping not.

  5. Someone on FB is on board this week and posted the dining schedule. They're not using the Marketplace for MDR overflow but it's STILL closed after 3pm and dinner is at the Biscayne Bay on deck 16. Apparently only 4000 passengers this week as opposed to 5000 last week. Still 3 seatings in one of the MDR's. Hopefully the picture is readable and I apologize for having rotated it. I had to get it within CC's archaic minimal size limits for uploads.

Waiting for the MSC apologists to explain this. And for anyone questioning whether the posted schedule is for this week, note that the Marketplace is not listing for MDR seating in this one as it was the last 2 weeks.

PS the good news is that Bella passengers are now allowed in the MDRs.

Was this the case for entire sailing? Also, curios what time the dinner would've of been. I have Bella, concerned about buffet so this makes me feel better but also concerned with getting 9:45 dining.

  6. Just a quick note. Under the faq on the app it tells you how to change dinning times... says that Bella and fantastica can be changed only once perday.. now the place you request may not be availiable... The maiterde is at deck 5 seashore dining room at 12:30... be there early to change and get in line... I saw people change out of marketplace back to dinning room while I was in line. Depends on space available.. lots of people were changing. We passed by the windows if the marketplace and for us it really didn't look that bad... The place is really nice to start with... I would rather be in seashore. But... We ended up in impeama..which was also nice but at the time we needed it..

Question, is this information available on the app once on board the ship? If they are able to accommodate dining change, shouldn't it be for the duration of the cruise?

  7. The shuttle driver will coordinate with you for pick-up.

Your other option is Uber or Lyft. UberX or a standard Lyft, sized for 2-3 passengers and bags, should be about $35 and will take you straight to FLL -- no waiting for other passengers. The wait for a car at POM is usually under 5 min.

Thanks! Thought uber would be more. Tried uber for the 1st time in December from pom to hotel close to Miami airport. Price was close to $30 for shared.

  8. When you go through customs call the phone number for the shuttle then meet up with them. It really is simple to do. You should try to get off of the ship earlier to make sure you get to FLL on time. It isn't a long right.
Thanks! Do they pick up in a specific area (haven't taken shuttle previously)?

  9. What times do the shared shuttles pick up at POM for Ft Lauderdale airport? I checked a few of the shuttle websites, did not see any times listed. Will be cruising from Miami, thinking about taking flight from Ft. Lauderdale. The issue is the flight is 12pm. Other flights are significantly higher from Miami and Ft Lauderdale. I'll be traveling solo so trying to avoid uber, taxi etc. Thanks!

  10. The nightly shows were great.. if you have seen the divina's shows they are kind of similar.. very good !! did not keep the dailys... also you have to book your shows... I like this system.. the app really works good.. it will locate you and give you directions... the theater is smaller than that of the Divina.. the Venchi chocolate bar was amazing... use used a lot of fantastica coupons there...
Thanks! Sailed Divina last year and loved all the shows. How far in advance do the shows have to be booked? On Divina the entertainment staff greeted the guests as they walked into the theatre and entertained before the show, is it the same with Seaside?
