Update: The bag was finally found and delivered to cabin around bedtime. It was not in the naughty room. There was a room that I checked with naughty and baggage missing tags. It was not there. I did use the paper tags that you print out with 4 staples. Apparently, it ended up on another deck without a bag tag. It was the first time this has happened to us in 40 cruises. I don't know why it was not sent to the room that I checked 4 hours earlier. We have returned to full low stress vacation mode. I am still interested to see how many times this has happened to people and how it got resolvesd.

All I dropped off luggage for myself and DW upon arrival at pier at 10AM this morning. DW bag made it to cabin before 1:30. My luggage never arrived and the ship sailed 6 hours ago. They won't even acknowledge that it is lost. "We're still looking for it". All clothes and grooming supplies for 11 night sailing are in the bag. So far, MSC won't do anything. What are my options, besides filing a claim with cruise insurance, which doesn't help very much right now.

Does the onboard internet package support wifi calling and texting?

My theory is that they use minimal amounts of sugar to keep costs low. Bread uses little or no sugar. BTW - I find this to be the case on many cruise lines.

We are sailing Mera so we will have a shower door. I may bump up against the door, but water does not spill onto the floor.

Thanks for the information. Most, including me, prefer shower doors over showers, but it has never been a deciding factor for us.

How difficult will it be for passengers disembarking on marathon day to drive into Manhattan to the Holland Tunnel? You are west of the marathon route and could take the Battery Tunnel or Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan where we will be well south of Central Park. I plan to self disembark and hopefully will be off the ship by 8:00 AM.

Can't speak for MSC (yet), but some ships that do not use egg crates will place a large folded quilt or two under the sheet to soften things up. As your steward when you embark.

It sounds like there are a couple of simple work arounds. Good to know. I just have to find the floor vent.

A number of Meraviglia reviews mention a "sewer" odor in the cabins. Is this widespread and constant? If it is, then the ship's sanitary system is inadequate. I am wondering how much this happens. Reports of all experiences are welcome.

You can carry on a 12 pack of your preferred fizz. I get to carry it on for DW.

This place looks interesting. Is it worth taking an excursion to the Bacalar (Blue, Seven Colors) lagoon? Is the "lazy river" tubing good?

I'm not a coffee "snob" and drink straight up black coffee. I find it to be perfectly fine, particularly if the coffee urn is freshly brewed.

Most 70s nights on cruises were(are) little more than disco parties. Your thoughts about it will depend on whether or not you liked disco.

For some reason, I thought that MSC had Pepsi products. I know of two people who would be happy about Coke products on Meravigla.

We are booked with a Fantastica reservation. Now a solo friend of DW may come along in a single cabin. Is it possible to link her Bella reservation to our Fantastica for dining? A more general question. Can you link two reservations on the MSC website?

The best route for us is to go through the Holland Tunnel to I78. Getting there will avoid the marathon. If we use self disembark and get off the ship early, we have a decent chance of to the tunnel before the traffic picks up and home in 2 to 2.5 hours. Even heavy traffic in Manhattan will be faster than going to Port Authority and then waiting until for a 2 hour bus ride. Like you, final decision will be closer to sailing.

We are on that sailing. Due to the Sunday bus schedules, debarkation uncertainty and the marathon, there's a lot of potential stress on return. We will likely drive and pay the parking fee. I think that you can get an inside cabin for the car for about the same as the parking fee.

We are considering taking 2 year old to the Dr. Seuss breakfast. I am interested in hearing about experiences with this event in terms of food quality, entertainment value, child interaction and anything else. Is it worth the time and $ investment?

The gangways are operated by the port. That said, it's not good for anyone and many will blame the cruise line for the problem.

South beach is away from the masses.

Labadee is a significant distance from the capital. It likely has excellent security around and outside of the complex. In addition, the cruise line monitors for possible security threats and would cancel the port call if there were potential problems.

I may sound like an old fogey, but there is (was) a greater sense of excitement from receiving documents and real luggage tags in the mail compared to a PDF file on my device.
