  1. We are in a CC cabin next month. Everything I have read in regards to the sparkling wine is that it is a brut whatever. We do not care for dry, like at all. Do you think they would be willing to swap it out for something sweeter, maybe an asti? Some cruiselines do it with no problem, others make it rather difficult. First cruise on Celebrity so not sure of their policy.

You can take it to your dinning room or Blu, and sommelier would replace it for anything you want using the cost of sparkling wine as a credit... We just came back from Summit and the guy did it for us in Blu

  2. Hi fellow cruisers :) I will be sailing on the Summit in July with a group of 22. Many, but not all, know each other. I would like to pre-arrange a meet-n-greet for after we board the ship so everyone can get acquainted. Ship leaves Bayonne at 4:00 pm. I am new to the Summit. Any suggestions as to where and when would be best in order to avoid crowds?

Usually people meet at Ocean View bar deck 10 aft. Great view and easy to find.

  3. I have always booked with a travel agent. I have to admit that booking with a big box store never occurred to me until I read a recent thread and then I went to one of their websites. I have to admit I am intrigued.

Are you able to get price drops, make cabin changes, cancel before final payment with them? If you run into a problem, are they helpful?

Do you deal with one agent, or whoever.....?

We always go with one of the major online agencies (whoever has better quotes!). Local TA would not have group rates like big travel agency specialized on cruising. We are not interested in "perks" so we rather take group rate with big savings and significant OBC or prepaid gratitudes

  4. Wondering does Celebrity still mail your luggage tags, we are less than 60 days out & cannot get our tags via the website, thanks.

You coud request them 45 days or less before your cruise. I did it 3 weeks ago.

  5. This is the latest summary as of yesterday but it is impossible and futile to predict Who will be On board a month from now.

Please report back if there are any changes.

Arno, thank for the great work you are doing!!!

Little corrections: Michael's club concierge on Summit is Maja Davidovic (not Davidovik)

  6. We are getting off the Reflection on July 31 (Monday). We have a 11:50am flight. We've never done self disembark before. Wondering if we really need to or if we would be okay not doing it. We have older kids who would carry their own luggage so it would not be an issue to do self disembark (we wouldn't need to drag tired toddlers and luggage around). I would rather not do it, but obviously need to get to the airport on time!

We did it several times with flights around noon. No need for self embarkation, there are no custom agents. we used Rome Cabs transfer , they are great!.

  7. As others have said there will be plenty of spots in the parking lot. The lot starts about the same distance from the terminal as the garage so your amount of walking will be about the same. The ship is longer than parking lot. There is no waiting to get to your car and once you get in just start the car and leave, no traffic.

    Guys,

Could you please clarify: I thought that parking in garage only...

Are there parking lot as well if garage is full???

  8. Also I am interested... We will be sailing 06/04/17 on Summit. I am interested if we will get there by 1 pm (some spots would be taken by Anthem cruisers who will sail 06/08/17), would be any spots available?

Also if parking garage is filled, any open parking lot spots are available?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

  9. Hi all

My hubby and I have booked on Reflection 19th May leaving from Rome. Just trying to find out best way to get to port as the transfers I've seen look very expensive. We are travelling out day before so have plenty time to get there :)

    Thanks in advance

We used Romecabs multiple times with great results . They are very reliable! We used roll call to find more people to share to minimize the cost of transfer.

  10. We are sailing Reflection later this month and I was trying to make dinner reservations but Luminae isn't coming up as an option (yes, we are suite guests). Is this strictly walk in? Or does it mean it's all sold out? We just sailed on Royal Caribbean and their cruise planner allowed Coastal Kitchen (suite restaurant) reservations so I expected celebrity to be the same. Does anyone know the procedure?

You will just walk in and you will get sitted. No reservation is required. Reflection has more suites than any other S class ship, so Luminae could be crowded.

  11. Have you been successful in getting Johnnie Walker Blue in Michael's?

DH asked at one of the bars and they had it but it was in the range of a $40 up charge over the Premium beverage package.

Recently on Summit, I asked about single malt scotch whiskey and bartender got me Macallan (not very expensive!!) and Glenlivet .

He was very good and he went above and beyond to make sure we happy...

  12. Hi all!

I started a thread back in 2013 about data settings and an Iphone and it wound up to be a wealth of information.

Basically, shut off your "data roaming" to avoid any surprises on your bill when you got home.

My last cruise I had an Iphone 5 and now I have an Iphone 6.

I don't remember if there was a setting for "Internationl CDMA"

    By default, this is on.

What is this exactly? From what I am finding on the internet, it has to do with voice calls? But it also says to turn it off if you experience poor messaging or data performance.

Should it be on or off? If off, does it affect my ability to have calls/texts.

I will have unlimited Wi-Fi on board and with data roaming off know I wont incur any charges while on Bermuda, but this setting has me confused.

Any help out there from a techie?

My DW has Verizon phone and we turned off Data Roaming off. Voice roaming was on. We had no extra charges.

FYI last year she purchased Verizon's $40 international passport plan which consists of 100 minutes and 100 messages which worked perfectly on Summit.

Unfortunately Verizon rep told her Verizon changed it this year and she can't it on cruise ships anymore, land calls only.

  13. I am sailing on the summit for the first time next May and have reserved one of the Veranda cabins on the bump out section (cabin 7178) with a bigger balcony. Currently, I can upgrade to a concierge cabin on the side towards the aft (e.g., cabin 8173) for around $20 total. For those whom have sailed on the Summit in either category, is this a worthwhile trade (I realize that the concierge cabin is a bit bigger and provides afternoon snacks) as I specifically took the bump out veranda for the bigger balcony?

If you need more CC points and embarcation lunch, you can consider concierge

  14. I tried doing some searching and was unable to locate an answer to my question.

Is there a Michael Kors and/or Kate Spade store on the Summit?

    Thank you!

VERY BAD selection and high prices... I didn't see many people who made purchases.
