I will TRY to keep this as brief as possible 🤞 if you look at my sig you can see I’m a CCL cruiser-been Diamond for a long time-all the perks and I’m very spoiled! Husband passed unexpectedly couple years ago and instead of giving up cruising I’m a solo-I live in NE NJ so cruise from here now vs flying somewhere alone. I love to cruise in winter but CCL won’t have a ship here winter ‘25. Enter Odyssey! I do not care about itineraries. I mostly stay on ship. Don’t care much about shows either! I love to CRUISE! I love being ON a ship. I love to dress up for dinner. After I love to just have a drink and be around people. Thinking of booking OOTS March ‘25. Would the ship be a good fit for me? On CCL you can bring a bottle of wine and 12 pack of cans in carry on. Can I do this with OOTS? TIA for any advice/opinions!

Just want to say I'm sorry about your dh and happy you are cruising.

My dd, sil and grandson live in Ridgewood. I love they (and I) can walk "to town".

We will be sailing on Odyssey April 25 so will just miss you.

    Happy planning!

If you don't want to waste your time just book full price and make your reservations.

Thank you. So does this hack work that I would go ahead and book with my credit card when ressies open. Then what do I do once onboard? Do I go to a restaurant or wherever and

tell them what I have, ask them to cancel and rebook me same date/time and then use my seapass card for my OBC?
    Thank you.

Yes, you can go to the same restaurant every time, if you want to, assuming they have reservation space for you.

Chef’s Table would be an additional charge as would Izumi Hibachi.  No extra charge for Izumi sushi.

Thank you very much. Do you know or how would I find out what the additional cost would be on top of my package price.

Do the restaurants sell out quickly? I'm Diamond and wondering if I won't get on ship quickly enough or is it worth it to purchase "The Key". Would I get on faster than Diamond?

Something nice that we saw on Odyssey in March and they said it was the first week they did it was restauarant staff in the terminal prior to boarding making reservations.  It was fabulous, made all mine in yhe terminal at 10:30 prior to boarding.

This is great and a start. Were you in a suite or regular cabin?

I cannot believe that Royal still has us getting on the ship and then booking.

What a waste of everyone's time.

Once I cashed in for shared Obc on the BOA site, it was a couple of days.   Was glad to get it ahead of time to pre-book dining and beverage packages.  I'm not traveling until 2025.

OMG REALLY!!!! Thank you! I thought I read it would post 2-3 weeks in advance.
I'm sailing April 2025 so this would be so helpful to have now. Thank you and I'll keep looking!

  6. Thank you all again for the reassurance.

The issue for me is that I have $650 in OBC. It will be just my dh and me, we are seasoned cruisers and do not want to use it for spa or gifts, etc. I will purchase the 3-day or unlimited dining now since they will sell out possibility but I will wait until my OBC hits from Bank of American RCCL card, which is about 2-3 weeks prior to sailing and then purchase.

It will kill me when I see it lower during the year and on Black Friday, but if I purchase, I do not know what I would use the OBC for once onboard.

I appreciate you all taking the time to answer.

I dont watch that closely. Tbh I wait for sales like lunches were mostly 40% off and I book lunches and as a D+ I book that instead of the 3 day. Last black friday I booked lunches for cruises in 2024 and excursions at 30% off.

I'd keep watching and maybe the 3 day will come back. I'm cheap and do lunches just because they cost so much less. But keep watching, maybe it will come back. I'm sure they have a certain amount allocated and do sell out, but not sure

I see ourusualbeach says yes they sell out on pkgs.

Thank you. I'm Diamond, not +. We usually sail NCL Haven but my TA had a fab group rate for my sailing that we figured we would head back on RCCL so trying to bring myself up to speed with all the changes since I last sailed.

    Thank you again.

Oh my! WOW, I wouldn't have thought that the 3 day would go so quickly, the sailing is next April.

I will buy the next time I see it, if it comes up, and then watch prices.

I will also just buy the UDP and cancel if the 3 day comes up.

    Thank you so much.

I've only seen 3 day dining pkg, never a 4 day.

At diamond there isnt a complimentary pay restaurant so if you have it probably a gift from your TA? Diamond plus has BOGO but not diamond.

    Thank you.

Maybe it's from TA, not sure and I appreciate your taking the time to write it all out.

Okay, so they have 3 day dining options. I saw it and now it is gone.
Do you know if RCCL sells out of the Dining Plans? I just guessed they would always

    be available.

  10. Hi.

I'm sailing on Odyssey next April.

We are Diamond and I think we get one complimentary restaurant to use for the two of us (not sure, been sailing NCL for some time).

I was interested in adding the 4 night dining package to our sailing. I saw it online (not the app) last week or so but when

I went to look this week, it was gone and only showing the UDP (which I still may end up getting).

Do the Dining Plans "sell out"?

    Thank you.

As mentioned, the Solarium (on all RCCL ships) is adults only.  You pay for no venues on RCCL as they are all complimentary, although suite guests have private areas dedicated to them. As Diamond, you will also have access to the Crown Lounge on deck four for bar service and hours d'oeuvres nightly during the cocktail hours. You also will have 4 complimentary drink coupons loaded on your SeaPass card daily for use in the Crown Lounge or anywhere else, anytime, on the ship except the Bionic Bar.

There are two outside bars on the ship - Lime and Coconut (on decks 14 & 15) and Solarium Bar (not outdoor but part of the Solarium).  Here's a list of the bars on Odyssey:

    BIONIC BAR

    BOLEROS

    CROWN & COMPASS

    SCHOONER BAR

    SOLARIUM BAR

    THE LIME & COCONUT

This is a fabulous list! Thank you so much! So both my dh and I have four drinks loaded on our cards each day, that is great although we will have the alcohol package LOL

Yes, Odyssey has a Solarium for adults 18+. Solarium has a bar  and there are bars at the outside pool.

    Sherri🙂

Thank you very much. I enjoyed the Solarium on Allure. I appreciate your letting me know.

    Looking forward to our trip!

  13. Hi.

We are booked on the Odyssey for next April.

Is there an adult-only area and if so, are there ones we can pay for like the Vibe on NCL?

Are there outside bars? Haven't been on Royal in quite some time, although we are Diamond.

    Thank you all very much.

Top Sail Lounge is on Deck 16, not 14. I can confirm that there is a "secret door" on the starboard side. Not sure about port side.

    Yes

    Thank you very much.

Also, my last sailing was February 2020, not 2019. I will look for cabins on Deck 16.
    Thank you again!

He is (as maitre'd), and it is included.

Oh my! I will have a year so a lot can change but he always remembered my mom and me when we would sail on the Seaside when he was a waiter. I talked about him  A LOT!

Love him and hope he stays another year LOL

    Fab about the alcohol package.
Thank you so much you are always so helpful.

  16. Hi.

I haven't sailed YC since January 2019 (we were on the second to last sailing prior to the world shutting down, maybe it was February 2019).

Anyway, we have sailed only the Seaside but quite a few times.

Looking at the Meraviglia since we can drive to the port.

    Two questions:

*On Deck 14, are both sides open to walk into the Top Sail Lounge? On Seaside it was only one side and there was a "secret"

door we didn't even have to leave the hallway to walk in. What side do I want/need to book on for balcony.

    *Is alcohol package still included?

Thank you all so much! I will be my dh's first YC experience (usually sail on YC with my mom) and we are experienced Haven cruisers.

    Thank you.

Arthur is on the Mera!!!!??? REALLY???!!!

Also, I am reconfirming before I book YC again (last sailed January 2019) that the alcohol package is included.

    Thank you.
