  1. Looking at the picture posted above, it looks like there is no beach in the yacht club area.  That would be a bummer.  I'm on a cruise that leaves 11/9 and will be one of the first there.  I've never rented a cabana so I'm sure I'll be fine wherever I end up.  Does anyone know how big the actual cay is?  If the boat is to scale in the picture it can't be that big.

Curious was the cruise pricing the same as when you booked it. Checked my current pricing & it’s up $800.

No the price was up.  I just priced it and it was $4888.20 so that is a significant increase for me.    We just booked it 2/3/19 and the price was 3538 for yacht club balcony.  When i booked it was a special discounted voyager club cruise.  I don't know if that changed.  I hate to put my travel agent through hoops because he couldn't see the voyager price and had to be on hold for like an hour to get it.  I know the cancelling and rebooking others have done won't help me.  Do you think their new private island will be ready?  That is one of the reasons I booked this cruise.

  3. In Roatan, I have booked snorkeling excursions twice with this company.

I highly recommend them. Herbert keeps the groups small and someone is in the water snorkeling with you and taking pictures (which are emailed to you free) the whole time.

It was a wonderful day and we got to go the beach at the end. A beautiful place.

He can organize other things besides snorkeling. There is a monkey/ sloth park just a few doors down from his dock.

I would contact Herbert and express your desires for your day in Roatan and I bet he can make it happen though I would certainly recommend trying snorkeling.

  4. Tell her to go to the get together party the first night of the cruise. Honestly my kids don't care for the teen club that much but they always go the first night to find a couple friends to hang out with on the cruise.

    This works for my kids.

  5. Has anyone ever attempted to have a small sedar on a cruise ship? From the archives it looks like it has happened, but I haven't had any luck so far setting one up.

We are on the Dawn leaving April 9th and I'm trying to figure this out. Called NCL, they directed me to e-mail someone on the ship's special events team, but haven't heard back.

    Any ideas? Suggestions?

Do you think you might open this up to passengers? I will be on this cruise and would be interested in attending.

  6. My husband I spent quite a bit of time in the loungers and I don't remember the wind being a problem. Our cruise was this January.

As far as drinks by the pool, the service is decent and if you need just go to the bar and ask. You will be directed to go back to your lounger and they will bring the drink to you so you won't have to stand around waiting for it.

Also there is a reserved spot for the shows in the theater. I have a feeling this is new as when we asked our butler he said they did not. But we discovered it on our own. It is in the balcony on your left as you face the stage.

During our cruise there were only two very young children in yacht club. I'm not so sure you would find very many families to socialize with there. Maybe in June your odds would be better.

  7. On the Celebrity Mercury, one evening late, a fight broke out next door. I thought a woman was either being raped or beaten as there was a lot of screaming, etc. Also I could hear things being thrown and breaking. I ran to the casino to get security to come and check out what was happening. I will never know for sure but I asked the cabin steward and she said it was kids and was very tight lipped. Anyways that was scary. I was travelling with my kids and it was actually their cabin that was next to that one.

  8. Love the Celebrity S class. I agree beautiful ships. I've never been in a suite but they have there own dining room.

I was just on the MSC Divina in the Yacht Club and it was wonderful. Wonderful service, wonderful adult area, You are really pampered and spoiled, But there is no comedy, The entertainment is unique, good but opera sometimes, different, all music based. If you like to dance it appeared there was a lot of dancing around the ship with actual dance hosts that got people on the dance floor. One thing to remember with Divina is a good chunk of the passengers are from Europe and might not even speak English. It really isn't a typical American cruise.

I like that many Carnival ships have Comedians on board and do Comedy shows every night. I'm not sure you will get pampered like you desire though. There is an adult only area but it seems like many stake out a spot and stay there all day so you might not find a spot there.

Some Princess ships have an area called Sanctuary that is for sun bathing. It is an extra charge. My husband bought it for a week on the Ruby and we loved it. We felt very pampered there. So if laying out on the deck is important look into Princess ships with a Sanctuary.

I wanted to add. I think I would take MSC Divina off the list if you don't do Yacht Club. Or at least do some more research to see if it would fit your needs.

  9. My was a best of times and the worst all in a great cruise it was June of 2001 cruising out of NY me the love of my life and my great new video camera it was our first cruise has we left port I filmed from the pool deck the sights which included the World Trade Center towers there they were as we sailed by we had 7 great days on our first cruise we loved the crew and in 2015 I went on my second cruise on the Breakaway love the ship this time no towers and no love of my life I lost her to cancer in 2008 and we all know what happen in September 2001. I still cry when I watch that video knowing what is gone.

Sent from my Lenovo YB1-X90F using Forums mobile app

Wonder if we were on the same cruise? I cruised I think it was the Sea out of NYC up the east coast in June of 2001. I remembered the captain narrated the trip out of NYC describing things as we passed. He state how many worked in the World Trade Centers and it blew my mind as more people worked there than live in my small city. And then I cruised out of NYC in June of 2002 and it was very sad. I'm sorry about the loss of your love.

  10. We just got back from our cruise on the Davina. We got the 10 for $50 with a disc. You only get the 10 photos that you choose on the disc. You can only choose from the 8x10 photos that have a frame and MSC printed on them. You can not choose any of the embarkation or dinning room photos, only the "studio" photos.

It was very disappointing to not get all the photos on the disc as others have posted. The photos were not very good and I would have needed to edit all the different photos to a composite to make one actual good photo from each session. The staircase photos were over exposed and we looked yellow in them. They tried to add editing such as sepia tones which just made us look sick or like we had teeth missing from the shadow variations. Next time I'll just go with the 100 package and scan them to a file to edit.

I told the guy I would have done that if I had known I would not get all the files. He didn't offer any solutions or alternatives, although another guy said that they save the files for 5 months. I may try to contact MSC to see how to get some of the other photos and will post if I am able to.

We just got back as well. And you can only choose the 8 x10 pictures that are printed by them. The best pictures they printed in larger sizes. I asked if they could print those in an 8 x10 size and they said no. Anyways if I had to do it again, I would get the 100 picture package instead.

  11. I see that the spa treatments are offered as packages. Is there just a 55 minute massage available? Can you book it on line or should I just go to the spa the first day and book it. I want a 55 minute couples massage and would like it on day 2 on the Divina sail. Thank you

My husband booked me a massage before we board. Getting ready to leave soon and go get it. And my massage is for 55 minutes.

  12. I believe that if you have not paid your sailing completely, you should be able to get the 15% discount. I would call and speak to your TA about it. I recently placed a deposit on my Nov. 5th sailing, and did not know anything about the voyager's club or the status match program. I dealt with a vacation planner directly from MSC and she explained all about the club. She told me to go ahead and join the club, and once established, just call her back give her our member numbers and she would apply the discount to our booking. I did just as she said and we got our cabin for less. We receive black level for the status match, looking forward to the perks too.

Hope you have a great cruise.

I did call my TA and gave him the voyager's club number and did get a 5% discount. I just looked at my invoice again and there is no mention of the voyagers select sailing discount. I guess I need to call again and see what is happening. Thanks.

  13. I have a couple questions about Voyages Selection Sailings for Loyalty members. I have never cruised MSC but got matched to a Gold level. I have now booked a sailing and it is a Voyages Selection Sailings that has 15% off. How does this work? I booked the cruise and then got my loyalty match and then discovered the cruise was a special sailing and !5% off but I really did not get a 15% discount. Is it set up that special offers perhaps pretty much compete with the Voyages Selection Sailings discount? Perhaps my TA got me a really great rate when I originally booked? I'm just a bit confused why the price doesn't reflect the 15% I also tried to look up cruises through the Voyages Selection sailings and logged off and then looked at the prices that everyone else gets and really didn't see a big difference in price.

Anyways i'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this.

Also I'm assuming the price through the website after logged into Voyages Selection sailings already has the 15% off discount. Is this right?

    Thanks.
