  1. Wow!! Double wow!! @cruisemom42 Temps have been in the mid 50s for a high. With no wind and sunshine it has seemed quite pleasant. Early morning on deck with a moving ship can be chilly.
  2. I would have! Supposedly, Guinness is good for bone health. Thanks!! What a shame you had to cancel. We could have met on shore! We have been very lucky so far with weather. Fingers crossed it continues,
  3. Good afternoon from Qaqortoq, Greenland. We went ashore mid morning and walked all over town. The place is kind of over run with two ships in town. We did make it out to the Great Lake. Kids were swimming in it. Brrrrrr! No t-shirts here in sizes we need. Prayers for those who need them and wishing everyone a wonderful day. @cunnorl Happy Anniversary! @Mr. Boston Happy Retirement!
  4. I’ve got an alcohol pad for you. I’ll put it in my purse in case I see you or else bring it to dinner.
  5. Yes, she is. Sea day mornings at 9. People have expressed many positive thoughts about her talks.
  6. Good morning, everyone! Another lazy sea day for us. We’ll have lunch at the Pinnacle Grill today and we’re looking forward to a nice dinner tomorrow with @StLouisCruisers Sandi and Dennis. Wishing everyone a good day and special thoughts for those with health issues.
  7. I’ve done ship to Schipol transfers twice and maybe waited 15 minutes to leave.
  8. Currently on the Zaandam and there is a classical duo that does 3 performances daily, except for their rotated days off.
  9. Good morning, everyone! Looking forward to a relaxing sea day today. Nothing on the agenda, so we play it by ear. Wishing well for all the Dailyites and their families.
  10. Good afternoon, everyone! @mamaofami Carol, prayers for Sam. @cruising sister I’m so sad to hear baby Murphy had a serious setback. I feel bad for her parents who must feel so helpless. @JazzyV Sorry to hear about the back issues. I get down on the floor and roll from side to side. Getting up was hard until I went to yoga with my sister. I learned how to get up there. Not too graceful, but it works. @Seasick Sailor congratulations on being official parents to Oliver!! @lazey1 Happy Birthday! We had a lovely day in Corner Brook . We walked the stream trail and then went for fish and chips. Mmmmm The red chair is for you, Carolyn. @Cruising-along And, a little food porn! Hoping things are going well for those with medical procedures today - @Quartzsite Cruiser and @smitty34877
  11. I think it was a glitch. We are in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
  12. Good afternoon, everyone! Sue and I went to a Ceilidh in the Kitchen today in Sydney. Celtic music - fiddle, guitar, and piano. The performers were excellent and we both said we’d do it again. Sue found some dice in the shops on the pier, so we’ll be challenging @StLouisCruisers Sandi and Dennis to Farkle. I love eggplant parm . I’ll be saving one of those recipes. My grandmother made a wonderful eggplant parm and put some Italian sausage in it. Warm thoughts to all undergoing medical procedures and to those suffering losses. @Cruising-along Carolyn, some chairs for you. And flowers for the Garden Club.
  13. Good afternoon, everyone! Thos morning we took the mail boat out around Casco Bay and visited some of the islands. We couldn’t get off the boat, but it was nice to see them. There are some beautiful homes on the islands, but I’m thinking it would be really cold when those winter winds blow. You can catch the mail boat right next to the ship dock-Casco Lines. $17.50 for adults, &14.50 for seniors. And a little food porn.
  14. Good afternoon! Things are getting better. They opened the MDR for lunch and we enjoyed a relaxing meal. That was after I got my pool time in. They opened them up at 11:30, so I jumped in before the hoards of people arrived. @Quartzsite Cruiser Lenda, I use the pool as therapy for my back issues. I can do so much more in the pool than I can out of it. It is a lot easier on arthritic joints as well. It is amazing how it revives me. Last year the pools were open on turn around day, The excuse was that they had to add chemicals to the water. I’m thinking they could have done that last night. I’m sure they’ll be adding chemicals during the voyage sometime. @kazu Jacqui, the above reminds me that I go up and down with my issues as well. Yesterday I wanted to lie down on the sidewalk and cry because the pain was so bad. I went in the pool when we got back on board and that helped along with two Bloody Marys. Bloody Mary is a health food - vegetables, fruit, and medicine in one glass. I can sympathize with Ivan. @StLouisCruisers Sandi and I met up this afternoon and made arrangements for dinner together in the Pinnacle Grill next weekend. More good news: We made it on to the excursion to the Bay of Fundy that was cancelled last cruise despite being waitlisted. And my brother reports no tree limbs have come down through the roof of the house. Thank you for the updates on baby Murphy and Ivan. I hope everyone else having health issues is progressing. Three cheers for @0106 Tina for the stellar job she is doing with the Meal of the Day!
  15. Greetings from Boston onboard the Zaandam. It is kind of a boring morning here. We stayed onboard due to heat and humidity, but nothing is open to us, Pools are closed, fitness center is closed, all bars are closed except Explorations Cafe and we don’t need coffee. They seemed to forget some of us are still here. The daily program says pools and fitness center are open. Go figure. No lunch in the dining room in embarkation day on the Zaandam. It is no wonder HAL has the reputed being consistently inconsistent. First world problem, I know. I rarely complain, but it is a long morning. It will get better.
  16. Good after, everyone from the Zaandam! @durangoscots my sincere sympathies on the loss of your friend. Hugs to you. We went out to Acadia today and hiked part of the ocean trail. There were way too many people to make it enjoyable. So, we caught the bus back to town and had a great lunch. And, bought t-shirts. First some pics from the park. Sand Beach And, a little food porn.
  17. Good morning, everyone from the Zaandam. We are enjoying a quiet morning today. We had breakfast in the dining room and then did laps on the outside deck. We have lunch in the Pinnacle and then a quiet afternoon. Probably more laps. There were some great waves out there this morning that Sue and I thought would be fun to ride in an inner tube. We made the suggestion to a staff member for a revenue activity on a sea day: Ride the Wake. Can’t you see a couple of big inner tubes out there bobbing along?
  18. We pulled it out and ate it with our hands. Very messy. @marshhawk Annie, I’m so sorry to hear Chuck’s news. Prayers and hugs for you!
  19. I’m getting some for my yard. @marshhawk glad you stopped the gardner before they were all pulled up. I was told they are crocosemia lucifer.
