There was a post /thread about this maybe a month ago? The poster reported he/she had learned a painful lesson and the gift cards lost their value. It may be somewhere in this thread or the second one about the GCs. Or it may of been a separate thread. Maybe that poster will reply here. Use caution with this. Smart move to investigate before purchasing to use as OBC for Australia/New Zealand cruises.

Did yiu post this on your roll call? . We are using Arctic Shore Excursions. Our tour sold out in a few days for a July sailing. They offer private ones if you can get folks from your roll cal to join.
-
It is confusing. You don’t need to join AARP, but you do need to join “AARP Rewards”, which is free.
-
Thanks, we haven’t paid anything. I actually arranged it. We pay on that day(DKK). Also am thinking to ask the company (Dantaxi) if we can run two different charges. I know cash is rarely used in Denmark.

This is what I thought. Ty

What currency does the ship use? Is it the $ or the £? We are sharing a taxi tour with some folks from Canada. We are US. So trying to decide how to pay our half.
-
Yea, maybe that’s it. We only have Grundarfjoudur as a tender.

While researching for our July 2023 trip on the Island to Iceland, I found that with a true private tour; meaning an entire vehicle and staff were rented by one group; cancellation policies and penalties differ. I also found this true in other countries (Baltic ports, UK&Ireland) in 2022. So I’m not surprised at the posters comments. OTOH, We were able reserved the non Princess tours which are open to all (but only book about 15-18 people). These tours filled up within two to three days of release in January. A good deal of those numbers are from the roll call. I found about 10 companies offering tours. The one exception was Seydisfjordur, with fewer options.

Hi Rick, thanks for the updates. We are on the Island in July. We have Seydisfjordur as as a docked port. Was there another ship here? Could the dock be too small for the Sky?

First time Suite passenger! What are the best benefits? Island Princess
milolii replied to asingl's topic in Princess Cruises
Awesome! We are in the sister suite. -
Yep, we did. We were on the Enchanted in September. We missed three ports. Hurricane Fiona was responsible for Halifax and the other two were tender ports, Bar Harbor and Newport, earlier on the cruise. We are using the credit on our July cruise to Iceland. It was a significant savings. The wording matches our letter exactly, except for the details of the cruise. Keep that printed letter handy for future communications. My CVP could see it, but it gets a bit confusing when using the gift cards, other FCCs, etc. Also you don’t insure the goodwill credit, just like you only insure what you paid for the AARP rewards discount gift cards, not the face value. So another savings there. I have coverage outside of Princess, so don’t know how it’s handled if you purchase their insurance. Sorry you missed those ports.

First time Suite passenger! What are the best benefits? Island Princess
milolii replied to asingl's topic in Princess Cruises
Congratulations. You will love the suite especially for all those sea days. We’ve never sailed on the Island, but have sailed in suites on the Royal and Enchanted. Sabatini’s for breakfast among the top perks. We also enjoy the laundry as we usually tour a week or so in advance of embarkation The room steward should arrive with the bubbly No special seating at shows ARAIK extended room service menu In cabin afternoon tea We chose Bayou Cafe as we love Cajun food. Here is the PDF with the perks. Interested to hear how things go as we are on the Island this summer in a suite. Please post. Enjoy your suite. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ships/products/staterooms/default-suite.html -
Hi everyone, we have a stop at Skagen in July. I have thought about the bike rentals, but not sure others in the group would be up for that. Does anyone know of a company or individual who provides a service or tour in this port? I found a company Cruiseskagen, but it seems they only work with cruise lines now. Nothing on the usual booking sites. Thanks in advance.

Round trip Day tour to Rotorua from Auckland in November 2023
milolii replied to milolii's topic in Australia & New Zealand
H1 @possum52 We are considering a land trip instead of a cruise as we think we can see more. We are considering both Australia and New Zealand. Starting in Australia and ending in Auckland after about 3 weeks. Yea, considering that travel time from Auckland as well. Ty for the tips. -
Princess Gift Cards for Shore Excursions?

Our CVP applied a GC to a shore excursion for us. This was about a month ago. -
ICELAND excursions warning - Wild Westfjords / Arctic Shorex
milolii replied to Liz315's topic in Iceland and Greenland
We used Iceland Everywhere for three ports, but used Arctic Shore Excursions for Seydisfjordur as Iceland Everywhere doesn’t operate there. We are aware of the cancellation policy, but I found some others more restrictive. We are using ASE for only one port and there are 2 of us. The problem is if you wait, you may miss out. Iceland is extremely popular now. Many cruise lines have adapted the Northern Europe itineraries to include Iceland to compensate for the loss of St. Petersburg. Many tourists have done the same. Our tours filled up in January for July dates. -
You would get back what you actually paid after the 10% was applied. So if using OBC then back to your OB account. If using a credit card, then back to you credit card, if a gift card, then back to the gift card.

Check the roll call for your cruise. There should be ideas there. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/63-princess-roll-calls/

Half-day Wales from Liverpool?
milolii replied to waterbug123's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
https://www.busybus.co.uk We were going with this company but our port was changed. -
@MoxiefurballDo your tickets include priority check in and security screening? I didn’t recall a bag drop due to so many people, but there could be one. We passed through last summer three times. The check in lines for passengers without priority was very long. I know LHR is installing new security scanners with regard to liquids, creams, paste, etc. The outcome with these scanners is you don’t have to remove these items from your carryons. I think currently this is at T3. The biggest hold up we saw was passengers who did not remove these products and place them in the clear bags. One one occasion, the agent removed these products and place them in a plastic bag and ran a test on them one by one. The 2006 incident, uncovered by UK authorities, that led to the liquids rule involved plots (10 of them) to carry explosives in sodas from the UK to US airports. There was also a security staffing shortage, but we saw all lines open. We used T2 for all our flights. Passport control shouldn’t be an issue if you are flying out. LHR doesn’t have US customs clearance for flights TO the US. The previous posters’ remarks about numerous lines are correct. The impacts grow later in the day. Things could be better now. Maybe ask on the port of call boards, numerous locals post there and can advise. We plan to head straight to LHR after disembarking at Southampton in July. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/
