We just disembarked today. We planned two tours with oldcartours.com and they brought the exact cars we requested. Both tours (Hemingway and Central Havana with Fusterlandia) were wonderful. When you meet at the Russian Orthodox Church (about 2 1/2 blocks from the cruise terminal) they had a piece of paper with our name, They then called the driver and waited for the tour guide to show up. On both tours we left before the agreed upon time. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. There was only one issue--we are in our mid 70s and it was difficult to fit our butts, legs and knees in the back seat of a convertible!!!!!!

Thanks I will add Lysol spray and lots of hand sanitizer to my list. We are traveling with a cancer patient, so we can't be too careful
If the cancer patient has been through chemo his/her immune system is pretty shot. You can contact the Access Department and request a deep cleaning of the rooms, especially the rugs, drapes, shower curtain, etc.

Always, always, always, check the time of all aboard on the sign as you leave the ship. Also as stated above, check the Freestyle Daily for changes of ship/local time.

I am not clear about your circumstances, but can you have the store deliver it to your hotel the night before? That is what I always do.

We were VIP on three NCL cruises for various reasons. We got the daily snack (which we gave away more than eating them), chocolate covered strawberries from an officer, priority disembarkation and I can't think of what else. Once was because I organized the M&G, once because we had a complaint that went up to the Hotel Director and I have no idea about the other two times.

When we got to the pier, we were told we had marked the wrong designation for Cuba. A simple change of selection on a new paper took about 1 minute.
We met our traveling friends at 8:30 in the designated lounge and were off the ship in about 40 minutes, however since I was in a scooter, they moved me up near the front of the line. With that, I managed to get into an immigration line that didn't move and lots of people in other lines went through faster.
We were exhausted from touring from 10am to 4 pm and stayed on the ship at night.
Sorry, I can't recall the entertainer's name. He did voice impressions and was on Broadway .
The show the first night, some dancers was a waste of time.
ENJOY
Were you able to navigate the sidewalks/streets in your scooter?

My husband and I just started looking in to Cuba so forgive me if my questions have been answered elsewhere. The $75-is that billed as part of your cruise cost or do you pay it separate? It is added to your ship account. We will be on a Carnival cruise. How do you pay for the Blexie tour and how much is it? Can we just get off the ship and walk around Havana on our own, eat lunch, shop, etc? Yes, you can get off at any time and do whatever you want to do. Thanks so much for any help.
See answers in read. I am going with www.oldcartours so can't answer about Blexie tours.

ask the driver before you get on-he will tell you if it is live or when next one will be along
or if you realise you are on one with recorded commentary get off at a stop and arrange to catch next one
Thanks.

Were you harangued about what you select on the OFAC form?
How long did it take in Havana to get off the ship, go through immigration and change money?
Did you do anything in Havana in the evening?
What was the one really good show? Was there any shows that you wished you had wasted your time on?
Thanks--we sail on the 14th.

the HOHO buses alternate with recorded commentary and live drivers who will break into song with Irish songs-make sure you get one of those
Can you tell what you are going to get before you get on?

Isn't a paladar a restaurant?
You are right, but don.t they also call private rooms paladars? I might be wrong.

We have done Skagway two times and ISP once. I would pick Skagway if you have never been there as there is a lot more to do.

Normally, the Set Sail Pass is in at the back of your eDocs, which are available 49 days from embarkation.
I sail on 1/14. I looked at my edocs again and it is the same as I posted on #5. Nothing else at the end of the edocs but a luggage tag. Also, I was never asked to upload a photo. I assume it will be ok at check-in.????

Here is a list of the synagogue's in Havana. Most of email addresses so it should be easy to ask your question and decide which one you want to go to.
-
On an overnight, you can get off and then back on as often as you want. You can stay at a private paladar if you want, or don't sleep at all.
Every ship and every cruise linecan work with you on vegetarian meals. You just need to contact the access desk for your cruise line.

I am following also--going on 1/14/19.

I agree that you need to visit the Alaska Board.
Here is what we did:
Juneau--private 6-person whale watching, there are a lot of providers that you could google
Ketchikan--Bering Sea Crab Fishermen; Saxman Village
ISP--Glacier Wind Wildlife Boat Tour

Does the Harbor Shops have a parking garage? Is there a charge? Thanks.

Is your private van for 6 people with overlord and can you share the cost?
My tour is for up to 8 people and yes, you can share the cost. However, Overloard wants the full amount paid now, not closer to the date. Also they want a single payment, not multiple payments totaling the full amount.
-
What port are they going to leave out?
-
I have been looking at Overlord for 2020. While they reserved the date, they will not confirm it until full payment is made. I don't think I would want to put that much on a credit card now for a cruise in 20 months. Also, it kind of scares me to try to get people to pay me back, or who may want to back out and not have paid me or if paid, wants a refund.
-
So, do you have to do something to see 40 posts? How come many of you see 40 and I only get 20?
Havana question re HOHO bus
in Cuba
Posted
We just came back from Havana. We did not ride it but the HOHO was stopped at the terminal to pick up passengers, and it appeared to be a rather long stop. The cost was $10 cuc.
