Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Delighted to have a bid of under $100 a day accepted for our upcoming cruise on Edge next month. We had booked on the old all inclusive rate into a Prime Concierge. Then, in the Black Friday sale, we took advantage of upgrading WiFi and drinks to premium. I think I could unwind the premium WiFi and drinks. if we did, would we get premium WiFi anyhow as in the Retreat. In know that for drinks you only carry over the package you had but if we downgraded to classic, would this mean we could still enjoy premium drinks in Luninai, Retreat Lounge and Retreat sun deck?
  2. I’ll be in The Retreat on my next cruise. I’ll be boozing, a lot. As will my friends.
  3. Since I wrote my question I have received some casino offers but so has my wife. They include drinks on us for one person. Is there a way to combine our offers? Carnival, will after all, be getting 2 gamblers.
  4. How long after a sailing on which you gamble are you likely to see any casino offers to rebook a future cruise? recently came back off a 6 day sailing where I accumulated 2000 points on table play. I’m not seeing any different offers to non players.
  5. Hello we arrive back on the Horizon on Saturday and have a rental booked from Avis in 2nd street. I understand Avis have a shuttle. Can anyone let me know its frequency and time here I collect it from?
  6. When travelling with others, both in the same cabin and both make the same bids, could it be possible that one cabin wins and another doesn't? Could be tricky for dining etc.....
  7. I would really appreciate some help. I've sent emails and made calls but can't get this resolved to my satisfaction. It's slightly complex, but I'll keep it brief with the keys points. We have 2 x $2200 future cruise credits Celebrity Edge booked for March 13th 2024 On October 7th I noticed the price of our cabin had dropped. I called and got it repriced. The balance showing was $3999.22 On November 3rd I called to apply our future cruise credit. After the call I received a new invoice showing a balance of $63.22. I called back and I was told that the all in price we originally booked no longer included tips. I protested this, as the agent on October 7th did say tips would be honoured as I originally booked earlier and the new invoice on that date clearly showed tips included. I was told the phone call would needed to be listened to but someone would call me back within 4 days. 3 days later I get a new invoice showing a $0 balance with a future cruise credit showing to the value of 2 x $2166 (not $2200) If the price I was quoted on October 7th was honoured and the full value of the $2200 credits applied, then I would be due a credit of $400.78. On my latest call, I am told that the credit can't be for a greater value than the cruise. It isn't as we have already paid $900 on booking. I would like either the $400.78 refunded to the card that I paid the deposit with, or we would be happy to accept an on board credit for the same value. Any ideas of the best way to resolve?
  8. We are on all inclusive but a BF offer has premium Wifi for just $3.99. Can this be used on different devices if you log out and back in again? We are thinking that as long as both of us have messaging connectivity and we can share for times when we need a bit of speed, all will be good? Also, the premium drinks upgrade at $6.99 seems a good price.
  9. Thanks all. My expectations are low but all your answers have helped me understand how it works. $1 extra.....😄
  10. Thanks. I don't know how you know what my expectations are. I don't even know where they are myself! There are a good number of retreat rooms currently available. If we see the price we want before final payment, we will jump, but if not, it's good to know I can still jump should be see it after.
  11. We are on refundable (Blue Chip 20% off) fare for our sailing on the Edge in March 2024. Currently in a concierge but aiming for Retreat. Price difference is currently too much. If, after final payment on our Concierge room the price of a Retreat drops, can we change at the new, lower price? Likewise, if we have already changed to a Concierge before final payment and after finals, the price is lower, can we get the lower price (even if the difference is via OBC) I'm aware of the Move-Up program, but my aim would be to chance this as a last resort. We are on a all inclusive concierge rate so are also closely looking at Aqua prices, with the view that the move up would be less than from a Concierge.
  12. We're not a million miles from that. It's $12500 for an 11 night cruise, so so $569pp/pn. I'll keep an eye open for price drops and offers. There was a suite GTY offered a couple of weeks ago but was only $200 each lower and has gone now anyway.
  13. I've only sailed Celebrity once and that was in a 50% Blue Chip discounted Penthouse to Antarctica on an older ship. In March, we are booked on Edge to NZ from Sydney and this time we are in a Concierge Veranda. I will miss the retreat benefits and looking at the ship, maybe more so than last time as there are a lot more Retreat benefits. We have an all inclusive package at the moment but would inevitably end up upgrading to premium drinks and internet. There is also an extra $800 OBC, so a $1600 value for the 2 of us. Dining in Luminai would also mean we are less likely to spend money on specialty restaurants. But the difference in cost to the cheapest retreat room (Magic Carpet) is about $5000. This seems steep. Sadly, I didn't gamble much on our Antarctica trip so all casino can offer is 20% off the fully refundable rate. I'd be interested in some opinions on my dilemma
  14. Any context as to why not? I was of the understanding that retreat rooms come with the benefits that I paid separately for on the current room.
