  1. A cruise is what you make of it. We will be on the Crown in January for 16 days and I know we will have a great cruise. The glass is half full:D:D:D

So true, and we are really looking forward to our cruise. Does anyone know if they still have egg crates available for the mattresses just in case we need it?

  2. Do you always book your cruise fare in CAD? I booked my original cruise in USD (which I think means I'm at the mercy of the bank exchange rate.

I always battle with the thought of which way is the better way to go.....trying to play the exchange rate game..... I think the bottom line is, sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, but I'm happy to be able to cruise :)

I always book my fare in Canadian Dollars. Any on board expenses are charged to my account in US $. If the Princess rate is favourable, I will purchase OBC to pay my on board expenses. If the Canadian dollar is a better rate at the time of cruising, then I will buy US dollars at the bank and pay my on board expenses with cash the night before disembarkation. :)

  3. I'm not sure I understand this - how does purchasing OBC in advance have a better exchange rate?

It depends on what the Princess Rate is at your time of booking. In my case, the Princess rate for Canadian Dollars is 1.20. At the bank it is currently 1.25. I will wait until we get closer to our cruise date before deciding, just in case the dollar gets stronger.

  4. My current booking is the same as the new rate they are showing now, but now it includes free gratuities. I have an onboard credit of $50 per person since I booked with an FCC. If I request the free gratuities, will I lose my FCC deposit and obc?
