  1. Thanks for that link. As Pathfinder stated too the drinks are $6.95 .

Can you get sodas and juices too with the drink package or is that separate?

I'll have to look at the tip aspect too.

    Bill

You can get sodas, juices are free (ok, included ;)) in the Lido. :D

  2. The "charge" is actually a hold of $60 a day per person against your card not an actual charge but will reduce your available credit line or in your case the cash deposit. At the end of your cruise the hold/cash will be released, minus any actual charges for onboard spending you have done, plus $11.50 ($12 for suites) per day for the hotel service charge. The Hotel Service Charge is your "tips" and is shared amongst your stewards, wait staff and others behind the scenes. This is voluntary (though automatic) you can opt out or reduce/enlarge the amount. If you do opt out, any tips you give out to individual crew will be given (by them) back into the tipping pool. If you leave the charge in place any tips you give to individual crew can be kept by them.

  3. We are sailing on the Eurodam in January and had some questions about the Greenhouse Spa Retreat and the Cabanas.

    1) Greenhouse Spa...if we do not purchase the week-long pass, but we book a massage in the Spa, do we have access to the Thermal Suites and Hydro Pool for that day?

    2) Cabanas...for the Cabanas on the lido deck, the pictures show one oversize bed-type lounger. Is it possible to get/fit 2 regular lounge chairs instead?

    3) Cabanas...are you able to open the divider if you get two Lido Cabanas next to one another to make one large Cabana that would seat 4?

    Thanks!

    # 1 No but you could purchase a day pass.

Will defer the rest to those who have greater experience with the cabanas.:o

  4. Thanks, I'm still writing but this story has a very happy ending. Pam fully recovered the following morning and didn't get seasick again. This was the first vacation we have taken where she was not looking forward to getting back to her dogs, garden, etc. She was definitely not ready to leave the ship.

As for me, I could have stayed aboard all winter.

This always happens with DD, she has a 'HAL' of a time for the first 2 days and then recovers and is happy as a clam for the remainder of the cruise (as long as 30 more days) rough at first but all's well that ends well, eh? ;) :D

  5. This thread virtually confirms that it would.

Cabin numbers in signatures do sometimes cause unwanted threads to be returned in searches.

Based on replies here, this seems to be rarely noticed, and therefore suggest that new cabin-included signatures would have cabins not yet appearing in signatures.

Perhaps you did not really mean "any difference". What seems to be implied is, a habit need not be modified to remedy a probably-rare inconvenience. I'm alright with that - although I wasn't asking for much, we're only dealing with a luxury, cruises. (Leaving towel in the ring.)

What I meant was that the damage is already done. So many posts are already out there that changing it now would do very little to combat your problem. Even if current posters removed the numbers, there are thousands that will never see your request as they no longer frequent the CC boards or are not currently active. I did not intend to be "snarky" but my suggestion was to alter your search method or the criteria in hopes of achieving your goals. Good luck to you and enjoy your travels. :D

  6. It happens.

Hotels, dormitories, health clubs, nursing homes, schools, hospitals,,,,,,,,,, Noro Virus is the second most common illness after the common cold. It is not really all that newsworthy IMO

    WASH YOUR HAND

Keep your hands away from your face

It takes two stages to become ill from Noro and each of us can control both..

    Amen to that:D

  7. We do so appreciate all the well wishes for our cruise we were to take over Thanksgiving but.....

We cancelled this cruise back in August because our DD bought a house 2 doors from us and we've spent a lot of time and even more money remodeling it. She is now moved in and the house is complete, although at the time of cancellation we were projecting finishing up next week. So, we were ahead of schedule but, as we assumed back in August would happen, did spend more money than we estimated. In fact, I wrote the very last check in the checkbook to the custom kitchen builder, so I know we're out of money!

Anyhow, we will be consoling ourselves for missing this cruise with a cruise on Ryndam for New Years. Again, many thanks for the wishes, rest assured they will be applied in December when we leave on Ryndam. :)

I so know how life gets in the way of plans :( enjoy your holiday cruise :D
