I am curious about this as well. We booked 1bx and 3ix. Our TA mentioned she noted our preferences. But either way we know its a gamble.

I also use tt. It's good for mobile devices. Sometimes annoying when I click on a new thread and have to scroll back to beginni

I guess they are trying to play it safe than be sorry. I mean we had an infected dr walk around ny, taking the subway, an uber cab, going to a restaurant, bar and bowling with his friends. I know they shutdown and disinfected the places he visited. That must've been costly.

Sometimes available inventory might not show up on websites.

What days do they usually do this? Is it announced?

Also be careful using credit. A friend of mine bought some rings in Cozumel and a few months later someone tried to charge 500 on her card.

Nice review. Glad to hear about the good food. May I ask where your room was located? I will be going with my inlaws and parents. We booked an IX cabin.

It sounds like this is no longer available not even in mdr?

I would never wait to book any cruise, I'm too fussy about the cabin location. :o We also have to consider airfare - wait too late and the non-stop flights or those at reasonable times are already full or at a much higher cost.
Having said that, it doesn't hurt to make that call close to sail date.
My PCC said it is reviewed on an individual basis, I don't know the criteria they use, but I am happy that we booked on KSF promo 5 months out and upon making a call to the PCC 6 weeks out, we were upgraded from inside to balcony :D
Is an upgrade free or do you have to pay additional?

Very informative. Thank you.

Thanks all. Ill check it out.

Where do you guys check this info? I booked four gty cabins for my inlaws. Is there an easy way to see all of the cabins assigned? Sorry I'm new and my TA didn't explain this.

What kind of decorations would you bring? I want to do something special for my MIL

Do they have jazz brunch offered? If so when and where?

Thanks all for the details!

Any recommendations for San Juan, st. Thomas, st. Maarten, st. Lucia, st. Kitts & Barbados? Will be going there next year.

For sea sickness. I think that gingerale would help.

Dial 7 has always been pretty reliable. We've never had an issue with them.
As for parking at the hotel and leaving it there for the week, I honestly don't know. We're typical New Yorkers and don't even own a car. We rent when we have to drive anywhere. I'd imagine, however, your car would be fine, but that's the best I can tell you. Sorry!
Funny how you say typical nyers don't own a car. That is so true! I didn't own a car when I moved up to ny from fl for ten years. Then I met my hubby from Atlanta. He moved up here and he was so adamant about having a car. So he brought his up.
For original poster. If you can take a bus to the cruise terminal or train. Then cab it to the pier then I would recommend that.

Lol the funniest post ever. Thanks so much for laughs!
The first thing that came to mind was this story:A hurricane caused us to overnight in Port. My friends and I decided to go out dancing at Senor Frogs nearby around midnight. I had on jeans, heels, and a white t shirt. The place was mobbed, the dance floor was packed, the music was great, and I remember dancing for hours on end. No matter my t-shirt was dripping wet from sweaty dancing...one could not tell with the type of material.
Amidst the humidity, the thick smoke, the pulsing dance beats, the strobe lights, was a short guy about 5' 1" dancing center on an almost empty staging with a couple other stragglers off to the side stage. Everyone else was on the dance floor, at the bar, on the bar, or wherever a space was found. My friends had returned to the ship about an hour earlier and I thought to myself, " I'm out of town...I do not know a soul in this joint...I am leaving port in the morning and will never see these locals ever again...it would be so funny if I jumped up on stage and danced with him...as I was about 6'1" in my heels. I also thought it would be a hoot because I was probably 42 and he was probably 22.
So up I went to dance with him and we just about brought the house down. It was post dirty dancing yet pre twerking with him. Within minutes It appeared everyone, and I do mean everyone had all eyes on us. The crowd went wild and I thought we were something special all right. Oh yeah, I could keep up with the young guy and show not only him but everyone else my cool dance moves. They (and he) loved it for sure. Yes, I am sure.
The whole dance show just about killed me so after the hooting, the laughter, the hollering, and the applause, I did not stick around to sign any autographs. I walked a long pier back to the ship thinking how great I was to have entertained the locals. I also figured the number of calories I had just burned. Once inside the stateroom, I caught myself in the mirror...all the upper body sweat had dripped into my jeans both front and back and it looked like I had peed my pants! A lot!
Once I got over the shock, and after checking if I actually had wet myself, I fell asleep laughing out loud while figuring bwahhh, I'll never see them all again!
The next two days at sea heading home all I heard was "I see you on stage..hahaha! "I see you in port dancing...hahaha!" "I see you dancing...hahaha!" "You dance at señor frogs yah...hahahah!" The entire crowd at that bar was 4/5 of the Ship employees and I could not go anywhere without an accented "Ha-ha-ha...aren't you...!" I suddenly had a crazy sister who was also on the ship with me.
The last night onboard I go to the restaurant with my friends for our farewell dinner. Of course by dessert time, my out of town nobody knows me dance show was brought up by some of the waitstaff. Since I was leaving ship in the morning, I answered yes, it was indeed me. They said it was too bad we were dining so late because waitress (insert name) was working an earlier shift there. I asked, "waitress (insert name)...why is it too bad...I do not know waitress (insert name).
The waitstaff replied, "You know! ...Waitress (insert name)! ...the petite little gal you were dancing with the other night!"...

Is jazz brunch served on breakaway? If so does anyone know when and where?

Although people have sailed perfectly fine while pregnant. I just want to warn your sis to be careful. I had taken a cruise while pregnant and on my way back home had miscarried. I wouldn't want to wish this on anyone and not blaming cruise but just want to express caution. Many people have sailed and flown fine while pregnant so every situation is different.

Someone had a spreadsheet with room pics. Hope they could post it for you.

Wow I just realized how big the balcony is. You can essentially fit two loungers and four chairs!

Cruise passengers from other countries
in Norwegian Cruise Line

Some family friends from Vietnam would like to join us next year on a 12 day cruise NCL breakaway. The cruise will stop at six ports (San Juan, st Maarten, st Thomas, st Lucia, st kitts, Barbados).
We think they would be ok in San Juan and st Thomas because they are us territories but not sure if they will need a visa on the other islands. Would anyone know?
Ill be checking with my TA but just wanted to see if anyone has experience with this before. We realize they could also join us but just stay on the ship at those ports but just wanted to see what other options there are. Thanks all!
