  2. Were on DCL Fantasy in Dec. We mustered in theater. CM spoke to us personally about lifeboat issues/needs and put notes in her notebook.

Sometimes we've mustered on deck, sometimes in public areas, sometimes with everyone else, sometimes with other HC people and their companions.

We always arrive a few minutes early, and they've always dismissed us a few minutes early so we could get elevator.

  3. We sailed on the Dawn June 21-28 and just got home last week. We had a wonderful time. Here are a few tips:

    1. Breakfast at The Blue Lagoon is quiet and civilized, no crowds, you get served, and there is no charge. So if you don't feel like fighting crowds in the buffet, have breakfast at the Blue Lagoon.

    4. BBQ lunch at the pool on sea days was quite good-better than the buffet. One day they had Jambalaya, which we really enjoyed.

    5. Lunch on embarkation day on the Venetian dining room was lovely and quite good. We arrived at the port at 11 am and were having lunch by 12:00 in the Venetian.

Happy to answer any questions :)

Great! Not buffet people, so good to know there are options.

  4. This is the most important tip besides learning to drive your scooter!!! The elevator goes up and down. Back up onto an empty elevator even if it's going the opposite way you want to go. People will pack into the elevator around you as you stop at each deck. That's ok and kind of fun. Just tell them when you have to get off saying excuse me, this is my stop or something like that. Everyone will get out of your way or get off the elevator so you can leave.

Yup. I push both up & down buttons to get elevator. And get on the first one that has space for DS.

  5. Other things to consider would be taking the train. If you can reduce it down to one leg' date=' it should be rather competitive compared to flying. Young children are half-price. You might also get a discount code from the cruise line (I read somewhere that carnival had one, so I'd assume NCL might too).

Stick with and don't give up your cruise! :)[/quote']

I would try Amtrak. Been on it a few times. It's a long ride, but you can get up and move around. And it beats driving.

  6. My husband and I are going on a cruise to Cozumel, Roatan, Costa Maya and Belize city in January.

For Belize city, I've found "Experience Belize tour" that offer a wheelchair accessible tour for Altun Ha. Il is a group tour and for 50$ per person you get the entrance fee, a lunch, a tour guide. I think it is a good price. Has anyone went on a tour with them? Do you think we can take the chance to book the tour in Belize city even if it is a tender port? Has anyone experience that NCL did not accept to put them in the tender?

    Thanks.

Accessible Altun Ha? It's been a few years [before DS got sick], but I seem to recall that the main ruins required a bit of climbing, steps, etc. The entrance and a few ruins were level, but others were not. I'd ask just how much of the ruins you can see.
