The really unfortunate part is that even if dinner doesn't take you 2 hours, they make you stay in the MDR that long. You literally can't leave!

On Harmony last summer, our waiter would get each of us a glass of wine using our Diamond. We were 8:00 seating so he had to do it right as we got there.

For my cruise this week, I was waitlisted for the 8:00 seating and had My Time Dining. I went in and made MTD reservations but they were all around 8:30.
Last week I received two emails, one each for me and my wife, canceling all the MTD reservations I made. When I went into the Cruise Planner, MTD reservations were no longer available to me.
I had my travel agent call and she found out that we had been switched to 8:00 seating. That is how we found out.
It was about two weeks before the cruise.
If you remain My Time Dining, you may be able to reserve 5:30 each night online. If you do this you could then also eat with your parents one night since you are both MTD.

The boardwalk cabin you have is basically an ocean view because of its location Aft. Plus it has the advantage of viewing the aqua theater. I'd keep the Boardwalk and save the money.

I just received my concierge letter for our Allure cruise next week. Beer wine and soft drinks are still offered from 11-11.As a small caveat or correction to something posted earlier, we sailed Harmony in April and we were told that they (at least on HOS) no longer offer free beer/wine throughout the day in the suite lounge except during the happy hour. We asked a couple times during the week and asked different bartenders each time, they kept telling us we needed a package or pay. There was still unlimited bottled water, canned soda, and fountain drinks throughout the day.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What about Ft. Lauderdale? Allure

Harmony had it....it was great.

It's for all GS or higher but for some reason, I've also heard from others that they don't make it well known. We experienced the same thing on Harmony last August. We had to go asking for it, not the other way around. I do love that program though. So convenient.

If you walk off with your own luggage you can easily make that flight at FLL (assuming the ship has no trouble docking at its usual time.)
We made a 9:30 flight....at the airport by 8:00.

Never an issue....
Just ask the maitre'd what he thinks of that. I GUARANTEE you that is not what they will say....at least not with a smile.
Although they will probably accommodate you.
He may or may not inform you that they have to send someone the main dining room kitchen for your 'special' order.
Considering as a suite guest, I can have anything from the MDR menu delivered to my suite, I'm sure it's not a problem to deliver to Coastal Kitchen.

Will they work at the arcade for the kids?
Yes if the kid's band/sea pass card is activated for purchases.
You can get the wow bands in Boleros on embarkation day.

Let us know how it is when getting OFF the boat, too, please! Have a great trip!
Just got off the Liberty yesterday. Make sure you use the Porter assisted option for your luggage. The self assisted line was very long while the Porter assisted went straight to the front of the line at customs.

I know that the internet charge is per day per device. Does this mean you can't use 2 devices at the same time? I want to check my messages on my phone and then log off. I then want to check on my wife's phone. As long as we aren't on at the same time, can I just get the internet for one device and switch between the two?

On the Royal Princess, how and where does one make reservations for either the Chef's Table or the Wine Maker's Dinner? What nights are these offered? Is it easy to get a reservation?
I know the Chef's table is $115 and the Wine Maker's is $40 per person. Do these prices include the wine pairings?

To answer a couple of questions:
Hard to tell you about the cruise ports in Boston and Montreal because as TxnAquarian mentioned, they were the quickest I have ever experienced. Arrived at the port in Boston at 11:30 and was on the ship in 15 minutes (no special status). Our cabins were already ready and we went straight there. Luggage was there by 12:15.
Montreal was even quicker. They told us to have passports ready, but we walked off the ship and there was no customs in the terminal. Walked right over to our luggage group, grabbed our bags and went straight outside and got in a cab. Less than 10 minutes.
The piano player in Mix was Jeff Warren who is a very experienced Holland America/Carnival entertainer. Enjoyed him.
Smoking at the Aft pool was on the port side.

Just completed last week's Maasdam cruise. Really enjoyed the staff....very friendly. Food was good especially Pinnacle/La Cirque. Ship is in good shape. Fantastic weather.
Any questions let me know.
