  1. Afts have Huge balconies and wonderful sweeping views. Full lounge chairs and regular chairs on the balcony. The hallways are super quiet.

Bad: hallways are long. I don't mind, lets me eat more!

7708 corner aft is my all time favorite.

  2. My wife and I renewed our passports early April and had them back in 11 days. I too was amazed. Hint: multiple renewals can go in the same envelope but require separate checks.

We went to our post office to renew our sons passport and had them review our passport renewals. They told us to write one check and put them in the same priority envelope (our renewals not our childs). They cashed the check today so here's hoping we are good to go since it was just one check!

  3. Can I ask you runners a question?

I started the C25k program 4 weeks ago and was doing great until I developed shin splints. I tried compression (ace bandages) while running but that made it worse. Iced after. I bought brand new sneakers just before starting the program.

Any suggestions on helping my shins? I really want to run. Was loving it but this is frustrating!

Oh... I run on a fancy treadmill with shocks underneath.

  4. I'm also curious if the loveseat in 7408 pulls out into a couch so we don't have to use the Pullman. Anyone know? I've searched posts and videos but can't figure it out.

Sailing on Freedom 7408 in August!!

We stayed in 7708--- which is 7408's reverse twin.

Love seats do not turn into beds. We asked as our son was little and we worried about the height, but he loved it and it made the room so much roomier, not having to navigate around the sofa bed to get to the bathroom.

  5. You should go to cape elizabeth to see portland head light. The road to the headlight is what most people think all Maine roads are, tree covered, like you are going through a tunnel. It will really depend on how the leaves are changing the week you come. You can do this within an hour and have time to ho up to Freeport. Maine has so many trees, you really won't have to go in search of them.

  6. You will be happy you rented a car. Straight shot up I-295 to Freeport, it's so easy! Free parking in Freeport.

Do not miss the whoopie pie store! To die for!

  7. If you are renting a car you should also go to Spring Point Lighthouse on the campus of Southern Maine CC in So. Portland. It's on your way to Portland headlight and it's a cool lighthouse you can walk out to across huge rocks.... The cruise ship will come past it on it's way in... Just stay on the port side on your way into Portland harbor and you'll see both lighthouses from the ship.

  8.

Have you ever eaten at Becky's Diner? I saw it featured on Guy's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Becky's is true diner food. Which to me is great. But I wouldn't stand in line to eat there.

There are tons of places in Old Port (where you'll be docked) to eat. You just won't find chain fast food eateries. If Beck's has a line out the door, move on, you'll find something good! If there's not a line, go for it!

  9. You're welcome! Those pics were taken on Sunday! Even us Mainers still go to those places. The headlight is beautiful, and you can't beat LL Beans guarantee!

Feel free to ask any questions, I went to college in Portland and know the area well.

  10. I live way up north in Maine but have been to Trader Joes in Portland. They have sooo many different kinds of interesting wine (try something blueberry) and the prices are quite cheap---some as little as $3.00 per bottle. Also lots of interest healthfood type stuff such as chocolate covered pomegranite seeds.

Hi! I'm way up north too! Caribou....
