An eye-opening discussion. We've always had breakfast delivered, coffee at the very least, maybe a croissant, every day on all of our cruises as its always included in the experience and its never once occurred to us to consider tipping.

In the USof A one tips everyone who provides a service because the servers are paid minimal wage and appreciate the tip.

We sailed one time with MSC a long time ago. We are currently booking on the Divina for a 7 day cruise for Sep 4, 2021. Getting the veterans 5% discount. The cruise itself is a good price. However, I cannot believe the price for a soda package. It is way out of line. The cost is crazy. A child's soda package is $17.00 + 15% a day. I could not believe that price. An adult package is, I think $29.00 a day. Plus the 15% gratuity they will add. At $2.50 for a can of soda plus the 15% $2.88 a can. You would need to consume just about 12 cans a day to break even. By the glass, a fountain soda is even less. So that is what we will purchase. Reading about the steak house, I am a little confused. Is it a la carte? You are charged separately for the steak, the potato etc. or am I totally incorrect. One price for the dinner. Can you tell me about the complimentary drinks offered for the buffet or dining. I read, water, tea and coffee. It that hot and ice tea? Any other, like a sweet drink? I read juice is available for breakfast.

    I hope that was a typo:  Sept 4, 2021.  I'm on for Sept 2, 2021.

  3. got it but I live 18 minutes from Port Canaveral and hate travelling to Miami.  So, I will pass.  I have 6 cruises booked until May, 2022, and my first cruise on MSC on 9-2.    I'd live a cruise out of Port Canaveral during the summer of 2021, but no deals offerered.

  4. I'm going Sept 2, 2021 to the Caribbean from Port Canaveral.   I'm having trouble finding the cost and what's provided in the drink packages on the MSC site.  I drink gin and tonics, manhattans, old fashions and martinis.  Well liquors are fine.  So, what package should I get since "mixed drinks" is ambiguous.

  5. We were in the first round of cancellations for our booking on Mar. 26. We have until Dec. 31 to make our decision. Is anyone else still holding out? I'd love to book, but am afraid of being in the first round of cruises allowed to go. I'd prefer us not to be guinea pigs! Also, I booked during the awesome Thanksgiving sale, so I am doubting I will be able to find the itinerary for that cheap in the future. What are others taking into account for their decision?

I Rebook and get the FCC. The ORC plus the FCC pays for the cruise. I’d pick a cruise no earlier than one sailing in November.

  6. Is anyone else having a hard time to do this cancellation online?  They send you an email with a link to get the refund, or FOC  yet, it doesn't recognize my booking!!! Anyone else have this issue?  I trued calling, after 9 mins on hold. I hung up, tried to do it online.  But that isn't working!  UGH!!

I had the same problem. On hold 2.5 hours before I spoke to a rep. She was very pleasant but had to Send me to the resolutions dept. I was on hold about one half hour. The rep was very nice but her computer couldn’t handle the problem so she had to contact some supervisor. After another half hour she promised the problem would be resolved but I would have to wait a while and check my email. About three hours later I checked and the problem was resolved. The future cruise credit was applied to my new booking plus the FTC from my cancelled cruise.

  7. Ceasars Casino changes will probably be the same as cruise ship casinos:

    TABLE GAMES

    • Positions will be limited at each table to allow for appropriate social distancing.
      • Three players per blackjack / pai gow / carnival game table
      • Four players per roulette / poker table
      • Six players per craps table
    • Guests will not be able to congregate behind players at a gaming table.
    • Where possible, procedures have been adjusted to allow only dealers to touch cards.
    • High touch gaming items (dice, chips, etc.) will be routinely disinfected, and cards will be refreshed more frequently.
    • Dealers will provide hand sanitizer to every arriving player
